49Behold, this was the guilt of your sister *Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. 50They were haughty* and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it. Ezekiel 16:49-50 God sent me to this Scripture in Ezekiel earlier today. To God alone be glory.
Reality? I understand at the end of the arguments discussion is ultimately God is sovereign, but it doesn’t seem or what’s more feel like justice! But should it really matter? Why does God find pleasure in hiding His reality from some which ultimately solidifies their destiny? If only God would do such acts that would enable/allow/cause repentance that leads one to everlasting joy, peace and fulfillment, why would He refrain from such acts, and WHY does that bring him PLEASURE? Is it wrong to ask such questions? Is it wrong to seek clarification? Or has God chosen to hide this reality also? For me it does matter because I have experienced life in ways that close friends and loved ones have passed on to eternity and I know they never made the decision of making Christ the essence of their identity’s reality. Some were never even introduced to Christ. I watch often these lessons. I love Pastor Piper’s heart. I trust him, I’m still going through the process of clarification.
He turns the comparism with the OT cities into the opposite of what Jesus actually said. This is an example of Scripture twisting to make it fit Calvinism. What he is saying is: God did not want the cities of old mentioned to repent since HE knew what would have made them repent but HE did not provide that. (Piper does not get that it is about Jesus who had come centuries after the time of the cities referred to. The incarnation had not happen at the time of Tyre and Sidon). Jesus makes the comparism to the O.T. cities to call the present cities to repantence. If Piper was right, then Jesus also knew what needed to be done so Capernaum could repent. But, since Capernaum did not repente it must be because Jesus did it do what was necessary. This twisting of Sripture first anilates the purpose of the coming of Jesus and secondly excuses the people of the cities where Jesus ministered. I can only call this kind of explanation NONSENSE.
The objective is the pleasure of the father, only the son know how to pleasuring the father, so come to Jesus, learn from him how to pleasure him at that time, many people wasted their time because only seeking miracles. But on this time we learning from holly spirit sended only Jesus not the spirit of the world.
Those whom the truth has been hidden from feel the need to search the scriptures because they believe that in them they have eternal life. They love to tear the Bible apart one page at a time in an attempt to find some hidden gold nugget of truth. Who do we know that does this constantly? Is there no end to it?
Mr. C there is no end to the desires of a mans heart. In your focus, you find your treasure. Praise the name above all names for revealing real love to me that completely transformed my existence. The treasures of His Word are medicine for the soul, body and mind.
X O The scriptures themselves are not truth. Real truth doesn’t give you facts...that’s legalism. Real truth is found in exposure to weakness. That’s the design of scripture...exposure...they are not the reality of truth in themselves. It’s not a book of compliance. That’s impossible. Why do you think that everyone says “ no one is perfect”? And yet...that statement is false. Not scriptural. A lie. Perfection is true as is sinlessness. Sadly, you’ll never hear that on this channel. Piper is a legalistic fool!
Mr. C I didn’t finish reading your comment because of how meaningless it started with. Praying for you that someday you’ll come to know the truth and definitely praying that you soften up your heart and pride to one day be able to have a loving and intimate relationship with the one true God ✝️❤️ God bless you brother 🙏🏼
God Does Not Hide the Truth! Jesus Words are Right in the bible..for All to Read and apply in their Life! and Jesus Spirit is Right Here on earth..To Help you with your Lives! It is Plain as Day! It was hard for me to find because I was born into a church that quoted Their bible verses to me and it distracted me from finding Jesus. But all is well Now! Thank You..Jesus!
To know the Word and Truth alone does not guarantee an interaction with the Spirit. The Holy Spirit, which renews the mind, must be seeked through repentance, faith, and humble pursuit
Mary B The only reason I did not see Jesus sooner is because I Trusted men and listened to what they said. When i read the bible myself with Jesus to Help me..I Saw Him. He is in Gospel of Matthew 5 6 7. Everything I Needed to Know.
@@kathleenwharton2139 Right- but you were given that by God our Father, it's not given to everyone. 44“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. 45It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me- John 6 Compare the verse above to this: 47Whoever is of God hears the words of God. don't understand,Jesus says works were done n there was no repentance in this place right,He goes on to say if those same works were done in another place, they would have repented,so if they didn't repent in one place, what gives Jesus the impression they would have repented in the other????

God doesn’t hide His truth from anyone... it’s strange how Jesus said “had they repented” and you are saying “God didn’t allow them to repent” Calvinism is such a false doctrine and makes the character of God completely opposite to His character portrayed throughout the scriptures. So for any Calvinist reading this, please answer this question, if it’s true that God is the one who causes someone to believe or not, please tell me why Jesus was surprised at unbelief in the following verse: Mark 6:6 ~ And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching. And why did He surprised at belief in the following verse: Matthew 8:10 ~ When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!
Thank you for this, please could you not chew because some of us are wearing earphones, and if you are not chewing could you please hydrate yourself so that your mouth doesnt sound like a cave drippin directly into my ear, it us distracting from your message and its a shame because you are saying good things, but i feel like you are spitting meat in my ear holes.. Sorry.
Spiritual blindness is a fascinating topic and glad Pastor John speaks on it with clarity
Thank you lord for this
Good message. I am anxious to hear the second part of this message. I love how deeply you probe the Scriptures and share them with us. Diane in NC.

What's the software being used here? Very good for Bible study. Are you using ipad pro and pencil?
I always took it to mean that Bethsaida and Chorazin were more wicked than Tyre and Sodom.
Great!
