Literally as I watched I had my library app open and put holds on the ones I could! I love how passionate you are about spooky middle grade books. It makes me so excited to read more 👻🖤
The Edge of In Between, Behind the Bookcase, and Sorceline immediately went on my TBR 🥰 I love that you include a variety of options in the creep scale, and that you include graphic novels, translated works (!), and books with faith parallels 🤩
I love your recommendations !! I’m a big fan of coraline too !! And you coraline pop is sooo cute in the corner!! I’m adding Behind the Bookcase to my wishlist 🏃♀️😍
Adding so many of these books to my TBR. Thank you so much for getting me excited to read spooky middle grade and be able to recommend books to my little ones.
And there I was, with a full TBR for Boookathon already 🤣🙈 I'll just go ahead and add a few more. I loved Behind the Bookcase as well! The world building was so interesting and detailed, and I agree that some of the pictures were really creepy!
Thank you for the recommendations! I just ordered Ghost Girl, The Keeper and the Ghoul Next door. I read a lot of different things and love spooky middle grade but this will be my first time reading a graphic novel and I am excited to give it a try! I am hoping these books will come in by Boooook Athon!
If you want a stranger things Middle grade read whispering pines. I read the Bell woods game not too long ago and I absolutely loved it. My favorite middle grade read is by katherine Arden small spaces
🦇💀🧛♀️🕸🧄 I did buy The Clackity when it was released on my birthday! I am such a chicken that I didn’t know if I could finish it. So…I skipped to the end to see what happened. Knowing the answers…good and/or bad…allowed me to finish the book without dying of fright! I never EVER want my regular stories to be spoiled. But it really helped with the Clackity. I think I gave it 4 stars. I thank you so much for introducing me to that story. I already own Coraline, Scritch Scratch by Lindsay Currie, and Strange Star by Emma Carroll. I need to read them. But I am also excited about the other books you mentioned today. (Book 2 of the Aveline Jones series arrived yesterday. I may have to wait until 10/6 for book 1 to arrive.) Thank you for the trigger warnings. This is very important information which helps me avoid certain topics. Child abuse and animal abuse tears up my heart. I never experienced those things and I prefer to avoid them whenever possible. And there are other forms of abuse that have affected me or my friends. Reading about those issues is devastating to me. I don’t mind being scared. I do mind being thrown into nightmare memories. Therefore, I appreciate your hard work in helping us find books that will entertain and educate us. I have not read about Russian mythology so I’m excited to learn more about this subject matter. Mythology is fun!
🦇 thank you! Love all these spooky new recs!
