wow , amazing yesteryear prices . I wish we could've seen some visuals . Bus trips to Brazil and Argentina are probably easy . Love to see a Video on Brazil too . Thanks again
I am from Brazil and I can tell you, I am also planning to movo to Paraguay. Too much violence here, the brazilian money is falling and falling , corruption is getting worse and worse. Prices are getting higher and higher , public health is caos, education as well, big cities are even worse, private health care is extremelly expensive. Now the government is legalizing drugs consumption so you can see what it will become..A couple can spend easily 500,00 dollars in supermarket a month. Taxes are very high, that's whay so many people (brazilians as well as foreigners are leaving Brazil and taking their money with them). Sorry to disappoint you.

I read somewhere, or saw on another video that a criminal records check is required and that you may be refused entry if you have a conviction. It was not clear if that was any conviction, or just certain felonies, and what type of check was acceptable. Some clarity on that point may help people.
Most countries perform a background check however what felonies determine ineligibility depends on the country and will require research / talking to a legal professional. Thank you for viewing!
I have some experience with this. They are very very strict. So even if you have a minor misdemeanor on record, you might want to look into getting that expunged if possible
If it's more than 7 years. Check to see if it can be expunged and / or sealed. No drug, violence conviction. Seek an immigration lawyer for consultation.

So you say with the temporary residency you can be there even for only one day per year and with the permanent residency is still the same? That is one day per year? Where is the difference???
@@boricuabro temporary residence permit typically allows you to stay in the country for one year. This permit is usually renewable for additional one-year periods, as long as you continue to meet the requirements for temporary residency.
@@ABDELHADINDIF Hi friend, I'm also from the US & planning to get Paraguay TR. Can you please tell me your agent who help u to get the TR? It costs $500 for the agent service and total costs from govt fee to the agent fee is 600$ as you said? That sounds good while other agent charges over $1,200 or more. Please tell me your agent's info. As far as I know, you only have to stay in Paraguay once per year to keep the TR and once per 3 yr for PR, but you need to report your revenue/income to the govt MONTHLY even you have no revenue or all revenue are foreign sources which are 0% tax, and did your agent also charge a fee to help u report this monthly revenue to the Paraguay govt? Some agent charges $30/mo for that monthly revenue (accounting) service, what's the best agent service fee you can find for that monthly reporting or post-letter forward service, open a bank service, etc? I'm eagerly want to know your agent. Thank you bro!
Great information Sonja. I am disabled and in a wheelchair, needing a lot of medication every day. Is it possible for a woman 65 and older partner, diabetic, to rent a house on ground floor having a assistant dog? We both do have our income.
Hi and sorry for the late reply: Generally spoken that should be doable, but I cannot tell you if the medication you need will all be available in Paraguay. Renting a house on ground floor should be doable as well, although the houses over here usually are not "prepared" for inhabitants needing a wheelchair. Sidewalks in Asunción are rarely really suitable for wheelchairs. So it might be difficult getting around.
Madame let me give you my little grain of info as a former diabetic type2 and hypertension medication user I check for medical care and insurance and medication drugs in Paraguay the drugs where super super cheap I’m talking about 5% of my cost in miami ,fla USA I did my research in medical facilities and I guess the private one where ok mostly for chronic conditions I saw a cardiologist there a German doctor he was very very good and professional never the less do purchase health insurance mine at 55 with preexisting conditions was 26 dollars for their best insurance also I check for a veterinarian I’m taking my 2 Rottweilers and my daughter is taking her cat and clinic was very clean and vet very knowledgeable and home visits where offered at no extra cost that said lovely country super friendly people I really enjoyed I’m planing to finish my moving in the next year and a half or so; hope this info suit you well and hope the best for you madame
Most expats opt for private healthcare, which is considered more reliable and of higher quality. Private hospitals and clinics in larger cities like Asunción provide modern facilities, well-trained doctors, and shorter wait times.
Hello and sorry for the late reply: In the costs I mentioned the airconditioning is included. But in the summer months the bills can be quite high (but not compared to the ones in Europe and USA I gues.....! :-) )
You left out entertainment this time but added healthcare. Which is huge subject for retirees. Healthcare costs and quality level standards should be in all your interviews. Although that would be difficult for regular people to assess. So maybe get those data from other organizations such as WHO. The utilities part did not include water and garbage. Since she purchased the property then property tax, and price per sq. ft. or mt. would be great. I watched other videos and one of the main things that is a major advantage is tax. Apparently you are not taxed income derived from outside the country. They say that setup a corporation outside Paraguay and transfer your profits in, tax free. This is juxtaposed to Argentina. Where once you become a citizen you are taxed forever and you cannot revoke your citizenship even if you never move back to Argentina. Anyway, great interview as always. Thanks.
Thank you for this information. We try to keep the podcasts around the 30 minute mark give or take and at times can’t provide all the info at times. We do however provide all if the details in our Living Abroad Cheap Reports! Paraguays report will be out this month. Do you live in Paraguay?
@@adventurefreaksss No. Not yet. I'm 59. Next month I will be 60. Then in 18 months I will be eligible to apply for my social security. I currently have a business and I pay myself less than $10k a year. I do this to keep myself in poverty level which allows me to not have to file income tax. I will be closing my business because it is purely hands-on. I will start a new business that will be less hands on and I can hire business managers to handle the business which requires only less than 8 hours per week if that. The SS check I will use as the legitimate steady income to retire in Paraguay, establish residency and obtain another passport. Anyway, on the video I noticed that Sonja is quoting you in Euro. But you put down in USD. Also I made notes when you interviewed Simon but his utilities were 107USD in a rural area and Sonja is at 25euro close to Asuncion. That is a wide discrepancy. I apologize if I seem to be nit picking. Again great interview. Thanks.
You wouldn't be taxed for investment income or things like that. Technically if you do your work from Paraguay you should pay tax. But who will enforce that? The one big thing is when you want to use the banking system. You'll need to justify the source of your income if moving large amounts of money. But if you just use the ATM you could be ok.
