Key facts: The DLMK36BPACK2 contains left and right case with locks and two keys plus one extra lock barrel for that same keys to replace the barrel in a Dolomiti top box. They also include the "Hold it easy" hook system, important if you have a very wide top box. With this system you may tilt the cases out from the bike making it possible to open the lids fully, if top box interfere. It also makes unmounting the cases from the racks safer from an unintentional drop. The racks are the PLO5143MK with the optional 13RKIT quick release system. Both is made for the R1300GS. Total width mounted to the bike: 99 cm Weight of each case: 4.9 kg Volume of each case: 36 L Weight capacity of each case: 10 KG The weight of the cases are actually less than some popular semi rigid / soft luggage solutions Storage net inside the case lid are the Givi E144
Hi Sven … I believe there is an option for Givi to mount without having to remove BMW original rails. Interested to know why you didn’t want to go that way .. ie is there a disadvantage ? Also do you know part # for mounting if prefer to not remove BMW rails and is quick release add on the same ? These side cases look great on your bike so I think great option for me too. Many thanks 🙏
@robertkr78 Yes they can be switched from one side to the other, making the latch facing forward. But if you have a very wide top box you may still not get the lids fully open. But if you mount the "Hold it easy" system (included with the boxes) you may tilt the box about 30 degrees outward to be able to open the lids. It may also work if you let the latches face rearwards. Happy rides 🙂
Ser greie ut, men klarer meg med en softbag bakpå, om turen gjerne er på ett par uker. Så lurer på hva skal oppi mere enn 100 liter:-)?
Svenskehandel haha 😛
Yes - a very nice looking system. You've written : Weight capacity of each case 10 L.... maybe you meant 10 kg ?
Thanks 🙂 Corrected now 🙂
Hi Sven, can they be mounted that key latch is facing forward? I gave 60 liter topcase and i am afraid i would not be able to open theese cases.
I will try when back home 😀
