This recording has a lot of depth. I can hear layers of sounds at different distances. I'm using GT 880 PROs through the DAC and headphone amp in my GT-100 pedal board. Very nice detail in the sound. Excellent diminutional depth in the sound; I can really get immersed in the recording.
Awesome budget friendly speakers. Vocals are light and airy. This would be a menacing system with a pair of Rel Subs. On another note, the speaker on the left, at first looked like it was standing on a cardboard box. My brain was trying to figure out wtf was going on??? I looked at the title of the video twice. Lol at first I thought you were demoing some new isolator, kind of like your video with the Focal Kanta aftermarket isolators vs oem. Again, great work here.

Its amazing how much alive Monitor Audio´s speakers become when not dragged on by the dull "HiFi" from Hegel... This sounds great... Its ofc just my oppinion about Hegel.. if u own it and are happy with it.. Awsome for you :)
I was also disappointed by Hegel after reading all the great reviews. Purchased the H190 and soon changed for the Rokasan Blak. So much happier

Very good recording and the sound is wonderful
I really like the clarity in the vocals. I might see if I can trade in my Monitor Audio BX6 for these. The quality is really amazing for the price of these 500s!
They are such amazing looking speaker. There is so little videos and reviews about it, i can't even find a place to demo these yet i will be buying these. Not many offer 8" floor stander at this price.
I think they are only just being released now and reviews are likely delayed by the recent times and issues related to that

Hi 😊 I’ve got a buyer here in the UK for my Monitor Audio Bronze 6 Speakers... I have a chance to buy the new Bronze 500’s to replace them.. mainly because I can’t find a white pair of Bronze 6 anywhere... lol! are the 500’s vastly superior sounding? is it worth the upgrade? all I know is that the Bronze 6’s are front ported and the new 500’s are rear ported.... any advice ?? Don’t want to make a mistake 🤣

Great video, thanks for the demo. I didn't like the driver integration - treble seems prominent, midrange kind of lean and sucked-out, and bass too prominent compared to the rest.

Yes but I dont think its come out very well it was a cinema system demo and I am not convinced I did a good job recording it.

Never heard Monitor Audio speaker but always being told that they sound very nice.
How would you describe the sound of Monitor Audio speakers?
For me (listening over my Q Acoustics via pc) they sound very vocal (mid range) focused and thin on base. Am I right? :)

I bought a pair of Paradigm speakers instead. Sounded better than these and had more bass plus they cost less

I was wondering the same as those are two speakers I'm considering. These are certainly larger in size than the Dali's, so I expect the bass will be weightier.

The Monitor Audio Bronze is very dimensional speaker.
8 inch aluminum woofer crossed over at 2700 hz = sibilance aka ringing.
Not at all actually, these are the least sibilant speakers I've owned so far
Sibilance occurs around 6KHz.
Monitor Audio Bronze 500 or Wharfedale Evo 4.4?
500 personally they are more exciting, evo was to warm when I heard them.

imo it's the Silver line where Monitor Audio is really pulling ahead of the competition around 2000 $, nothing against the Bronze but there is quite a noticeable gap, the Bronze sound too narrow and "muted" while when you go for the Silver 7G it's like you "unveil the curtain". Totally worth the Upgrade.
Silvers were, for me, IMO a disappointing move from the bronze range (I had BR2s for almost a decade). The RX6 and then Silver 300 both had a distinct coldness/upper mid presence that was really off-putting and always envoked an emotional coldness when listened to on most genres. I also wasn't a fan of the differential tuning on the RX6... it just seemed to make the inherent group delay lag of ported designs span the entire bass range. A shame really as the transient response of the Silver series drivers themselves seemed excellent. A really fast, lively attack on bass and the mids.. let down by the flabby sounding ported cabinet design.
I would definitely audition Silvers before you buy.
For what it's worth I was driving all these speakers from a BSS EPC780. The amplifier of choice for the 1990s Turbosund Flashlight/Floodlight PA hifi like touring rig. 650w/ch @ 8ohms, 1000w@4, 1500w@2, etc. Enormous damping factor and slew rate specs.. also pure class A operation up to 25ish watts. Honestly, it is the best sounding amplifier I have ever heard, so the amp wasn't the weak link here.

Well the music is not very challenging for any speaker except maybe my mom's $55 Sony boombox.
These cost nearly twice as much as my Klipsch 280f but I'm not hearing anything they excel over the Klipsch.
The Klipsch RP-280f are £1249.00, the Monitor Audio Bronze 500's are £839 in the UK. which makes the MA's a bargain.
Must be good speakers if they can make crappy music like that sound reasonable.

A tad harsh, no matter how talentless an artist is if somebody likes them, then thats good enough. I think what you are alluding to is the fact the the music is processed, limited in its structure and would hardly put any real demand on an audio system. That isnt unusual on these youtube videos, the people who post the videos are reluctant to use music that is 'demanding' of a system and would show limitations and flaws.

I bought these speakers and they sound like garbage in the highs and the midrange. I am using an Emotiva amp and Musical Fidelity integrated amp. The overall sound is boxy with grating highs and recessed midrange. My Infinity R162 bookshelf speakers sound far better than these. Hopefully, I can return them. Listen before buying.

Don't trust the reviews. Monitor Audio= Big marketing, with big margin, and in reality the used drivers are cheap chinese made drivers with PLASTIC basket! And if 1 driver go bad, the new driwer sold so much you'd do better if you buy a new one. Don't misunderstood me i was a big M.A. fan, it was a good brand till the 2000's, but now it's not that... Nowtime the big margin (profit) which remains with the merchant/traders allows many test writers/reviewers to encourage them to form a good opinion of the product and thus encourage them to buy, but in the reality this profit, whats land by the traders they are saved on the quality of the product, and thats not good for the buyers. Trendy outfit, big profit, from this profit they can "buy" good reviews, and cheap cinese plastic product. This is the new directive by the Monitor Audio. I personally newer buy again from this brand.

Carbon reinforced polymer is a superb material for making speaker baskets. It's very strong, acoustically dead and doesn't ring like pressed steel or cast aluminium baskets. Also Tannoy, B&W and others are using carbon reinforced speaker baskets.

If you don't belive me send me your email, and i can send you photos how this cheap plastic broke from the weight of the magnet, or ask a service specialist how many basket brokes meet from this hyper super material... Dont belive everything what the marketing put forward to you, thats why the audio industry stay where now stay. You cannot buy a good sounding speaker pair, what is last long under 5000 dollars. I do not eat this. More and more profit that is the most important nowdays and the M. A. Is one of the leader on this strategy.

One of harbeth speakers also have plastic basket .monitor audio have plastic basket reinforced with fiberglass i think. Monitor audio speakers are too shrill and forward i dont like them at all.

Musical selection on the demo is junk. Even a high quality recording can't mask it. I'm sure the presenters were trying to appear hip in trying to appeal to a younger demographic, but they just blew it. The system is obviously good, but could not shine through.
I really like christine and the queens Chris is a cracking album I have used it as a demo disc loads. They might have even picked it up from my videos who knows.

Contemporary artists that are well recorded are a blessing. Imo I am so frustrated with great artists whose music is looked at as disposable, and no effort or investment is given to preserving their art. Music is for everyone, not just the select. Great music choices by Monitor Audio and the other manufacturers at Bristol. The guy in the shot is enjoying the whole experience and that's what this pastime is all about.
