- In 1974 the Netherlands was under the spell of the British glam rock band Mud. Mud had a number of unsuccessful singles in the late 60s. The band performed music from Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, who also wrote the hits for The Sweet and Suzi Quatro. The first result was Crazy, which did well in England. The next single Hypnosis was not exuberant enough for the Netherlands. The third single Dyna-mite caught on. Mud went straight to number one in the Netherlands, even though it was after a hesitant start; it was, after all, a single from 1973! The Mudmania was supported by the videos in AVRO's Toppop, where the men in bright red clothing did their dance steps.

My mate had "Mud Rock" LP this was the first track, the rest were rock and roll covers. What an album. We were young, we discovered '50's rock and roll in the mid '70's.

Best mud single ever sad that less n dave are no longer around remember this when it came out. Totp was brilliant with all the glam rock bands such brilliant days. Oh if only todays music was as good.

Many many years ago viz magazine had a cartoon with two pictures. In the first picture it showed a bloke driving a car approaching a bend, and there was a sign saying “caution, mud on the road”. In the second picture, when he rounds the bend, there are blokes in the middle of the road with guitars (and speech bubbles), singing “that’s neat that’s neat, I really love your tiger feet”
Saw them twice in 1973, they actually had stickers in the shape of a triangular road sign with those words on.
