- Jamey Johnson performs Little Feat's "Willin'" at Farm Aid 2017 at KeyBank Pavilion in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, on September 16.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

As a guy who's been to Tuscon ,Tucumcari ,Tehachapi and Tonopah ,I gotta say that this is the most authenitic interpretation of Lowell George's song that I have ever heard

Love this! Lowell George's Willin' and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Four Walls of Raiford" are Jamey Johnson's best covers, IMHO.
Lowell was the man,this is still his song,but if there was ever anyone born to cover this song you have just heard him. OUTSTANDING !

Ole Jamey grew up pretty close to me . We use to play them in football every year .
We use to whoop em every year , can't remember them ever beating us Red devils from little Las Vegas / sin city Alabama.

As much as I like this (and I saw Little Feat with Lowell George do it live five times) I sure wish Mr. Johnson would write some more songs. His solo albums are so great.

Nice version. Excellent vocal and arrangement. Quick work by the guy doubling on bari sax and flute! Pedal steel, tie die dress! What's not to like!
Yeah he nailed it. As an alto saxophonist that dabbled in other woodwinds, I can only imagine how difficult it must be to quickly transition from bari sax to flute embouchure wise.
ARAs cover has long been my favorite. This maybe better. Wonderful rendition.

I'm probably a biased Jamey Johnson fan, but I like this even better than the original. I think it's a combination of his once in a lifetime vocals and the slower rhythm and cadence. Gives it that Fred Eaglesmith "Trucker Speed" feel.
Jamey is the kind of guy who could have been a truck driver. Lowell George was an art student singing about truck drivers.
