DIY Open Shower Rebuild | Dualex RV Renovation
In today's video I'm rebuilding the shower in my Travel trailer. This DIY build happened because there was mold build up behind the existing shower walls in my RV from years of showers being taken without proper shower design and water proofing. I decided to use corrugated metal for the shower walls in order to ensure that the shower rebuild would be completely water proof. I also used cedar for all of the wood fixtures for its strength and durability. I hope you like this video as much as I did. See you in the next one!

I can't even count the number of videos I've watched on building a shower in an RV, and this one is hands down the best one yet! Well done!

Looks good , I'm wondering about moisture creep at top and bottom of corrugated metal. Your definitely gonna wanna seal up those areas .Keep them coming.
I was wondering the same thing. With the corrugated metal I think it will be more difficult to seal
We share a similar concern. The work is great but I’d be worried about the moisture
Looks great. I agree about sealing it up. I think I would go around all the seams with clear silicone to ensure no moisture gets in anywhere.
I have the same question. I’m so confused. Also, the original wall, should it have been cut out and addressed since there was previous leaking?
Yea I feel he should have put at least a waterproofing barrier between the wall and metal.
I would love to see you do a complete home renovation and flip.

He's very creative,but,bejng a home builder(myself) the engineering and inspections are what causes good or bad. Not creativity.

Looks awesome! Some black trim at top & bottom will make it look more finished and provide another water barrier. Don’t forget the clear silicone caulk. But yeah, I love it! Good job!

I would have done an all wood shower but used the corrugated metal to keep the weight down. This setup actually weighs a little bit less than the original shower with that big bulky door

Should've built a wall behind the corrugated metal and coated it with 3 coats of RedGard. Condensation will form behind there and it'll mold pretty quickly. Use GE Bath 100% Silicone on the edge of the corrugated metal, it's guaranteed mold free for 10 years.

Well I assume before he installed showers in RVs easiest place to go is a gym. Might as well workout when you go, so at minimum that's once or twice a day workout - excluding the workout he gets from carpentry work.
This shower is beyond impressive! As I am downsizing and getting ready for tiny house living, this is absolutely an idea I am saving!

As anyone in any field who's done their work for long periods of time they tend not to be able to help themselves when pointing out problems or issues they see. It's simply just nature of the job. Yet the shower was beautifully done, I've watched many tiny home and stealth van designs and this is the first shower set up I've actually been impressed with.
I love watching your do it yourself videos and we have decided that we are purchasing a Keystone Cougar 35 ft 5th wheel next month. We are on the road 8-10 months a year for work. I don’t really like the shower, so we are going to change it, to something like your shower.
Small things like elbows,flanges and black pipe to make the shower curtain rods lol... Smart and efficient man!

As usual mad talent w/safety at the forefront. I'm loving eerrrrrthing re the upgraded shower, especially the 🚿🚿 & wood bottom. I use portable wood-bath mat, feels great under my🐾. I clean mat regularly, avoid mold.
I didn’t even think of that but I could definitely clean it regularly and it will probably last much longer

I absolutely love this! I've remodeled a couple of in-home bathrooms and I wish I had thought of the corrogated stainless and wood combo, easily the best I've seen.
That looks dope bro! Don't ever let anyone tell you your doing to much to a rv. I love my rv I have a 2011 big country 3450ts, I'm 25 yrs old I just got into Rv life style, I have the same shower shape, this would be a dope upgrade but I would need some practice. You got skills keep it up!!!

Great work. You have given me some ideas. One advice, you should have used galvanized pipe fittings instead of the black pipe fittings. Black pipe fittings will eventually corrode and diminish your water flow.
