As a fan of DYE I'm so glad I didn't fall for the hype when this released. Lol
I fell for it lol! Good thing I have adult money now. Locked away in my gear bag, and I will never buy anything from Dye again.

Yeah this isn't the most accurate for sound, the roof is definitely effecting it. A friend was filming with his camera and microphone and I didn't want to mess with it.

My pro lite sounds like an m1 carbine (the real deal) bolt with the sharp metallic clank. The report sounds like a nail gun with a blunder buss 😅
I was really expecting you to love the DLS. I was fortunate enough to get one as a loaner for a tournament earlier this year and the one I used was extremely soft like old school DM squishy but the shots were more consistent than anything I had ever used. I'm sorry that one didn't hit the same way!
This one felt more like the Dye NT for years ago

A lot of these seem to shoot very differently from one another. There have been some updates and fixes you can do also to where it's not a blender of paint. Once the official updated bolt system releases I'm really curious to test one of these out. It seems like the perfect scenario gun with how crazy the efficiency is.
For sure, I know this has been at Dye at least once. It’s not used much, but I was told it’s more reliable than it was.

Mine shoots great in hot weather. Perfectly, in fact. In the winter, it breaks paint like crazy.
how can it be so loud with a dye barrel on it. i use dye barrels on everything because of the lack of sound signature they make....
Sounds like my luxe X when it was missing a can oring that somehow didn’t cause a leak, just turned it into a Tippmann, both sounded like it and killed efficiency
Brad, the sound and the "feel" you're feeling are due to the extremely hasty valve closure. This is what efficiency shoots like.
Yep, I imagine thats why its hard on paint too.
How much more efficient is this gun vs an amp or equivalent?
Rumor has it, the DLS gets close to a case (2k rds) of a 68/45.
I got 1600 shots on my DSR+ mech w IM pro kit off a 68/4500 and it’s the softest/quietest shot I’ve experienced. The DLS just isn’t very impressive tbh.
@@fibonacciitv2402 And your DSR was designed by the same engineer as the DLS (John Chambers). The DLS was never supposed to be anything other than a higly limited passion project to bring the Lurker Paragon into a production setting. No more, no less.
That barrel rise reminds me of a PMR.

I have a blue one that i got off Ebay that said it was used...by Used it was out of the plastic wrap my nephew played with it i still have not.. i use my CS3.

I understand everyone has their preferences but good lord people are so picky these days.... it kicks 😂 I have one and ifk if it's because I shoot actual firearms alot and don't really notice a kick or the sound.. personally I like the feedback off the marker. Thank God they released the v2 bolt upgrade. 😂 each to their own
I like mine... in warm weather.
I remember how hyped these were after cup last year. Come January/February, it was post after post after post of people having problems. Dye owes these users a functional/reliable refresh. But yeah, aT lEaSt ItS vErY aIr EfFiCiEnT.

Anyone remember the Proto during the early DMs? Mid price gun with high end performance.
Today people buy the DSR+ and avoid the high end option.
Sue needs fix or recall these $2000 DLS turds and stop making a high end gun.
Just set the mid tier that works and stop screwing with their brand sentiment.
Still shoot my DSR OG and my DM9 i rebuild once a year. Would hate to spend money on these lol

These have absolutely tanked on the resale market too, I'm seeing like 800s already. Man they messed up with this gun.

You are under the awning and maybe that's why it seems loud ? it does rise when you shoot it.

I use a bob long vis but I have never shot the DLS so I'm curious if you think the DLS has more felt vibration or kick than the vis? I don't get Barrel climb like what your DLS looks like, but I do get more vibration than most-modern spool valves.
Maybe not vibration, but from what I remember the VIS has less kick.
The VIS is smoother. I own both. My DLS shoots great in hot summer weather... if it's cold, it breaks paint. I shot 3 cases at a scenario game in July with zero breaks. If it's 45 degrees or cooler, it'll break 2 or 3 balls per hopper.
@@cbradquillen damn that sucks. In the winter my Vis has no problem handling Ultra brittle cold paint. I even did an efficiency test on video putting 12 Pods through it when it was only 10 degrees out and didn't get a single ball break. And that was without the pillow tip as well since my pillow tip blew out a year and a half ago and I haven't been able to find any for sale anywhere since but it seems my Vis engine really didn't need it to begin with 🙂

Honestly after buying an LV2 everything feels like it has kick.
Love the lv2 but to be honest that's mostly becuase its one chonky/hefty boy.... really absorbs alot of the felt recoil but again still fantastic shooter.
So glad I canceled my preorder and avoided the disappointment

Yea I did not like it either......It was a different shot which was initially intriguing, but then the back cap would come lose after a few pods...and it chopped quite a few balls.
might have something to do with the orings or something with the bolt? my friends tm40 kicked like crazy before they disassembled the bolt and lubed it up

Just under 290. We checked afterward, to make sure I wasn't shooting 350 and just didn't realize it.

@@dootyboot-t not a fan of eclipse markers. It's all preference. I also like to be different and shoot something that really no one else is shooting. For example everyone that plays mech shoots an emek for the most part with others scattered in like DSR+ and AMP but I shoot a Nova
@@coryjames70I get you on that. I like to own things that you won't see everyone and their grandma using. That being said, planet eclipse makes some fantastic markers
@@misteraxeman2680 I also have smaller hands and allot of eclipse markers are a little thick. Also big fan of Dye gun ergonomics so that's another reason I'd choose the DLS over the CS3
I traded mine off for a dsr+ limited colorway....not sorry

Lol, everyone just has noodle arms when they shoot pb markers these days. "Oh man, you mean I actually have to use my arm muscles? Oh jeez."
I'm happy to have such a unique marker. I'm not sure paintball markers can technically be more efficient than the DLS.

I heard so many mixed things, I really didn’t know what to expect.
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife from what I’ve heard there was a tolerance issue in manufacturing. Not in a single part, but across the bolt as a whole which led to things being out of spec by up to 2mm depending on the gun. Each one right now is uniquely different because of that. The shot as well, is heavily dependent on the settings currently. Minimum dwell, abs off, eye delay 20ms, and it drastically smooths out the shot. But right now the bolt is also bending the lift gate, there is a new bolt on the horizon, cause of the issues. It got leaked, Dye is trying to stay tight lipped.

You're reviewing a marker and don't even show proper safety protocol. Also, drinking in the video gives you no credibility. Accidents happen because of people who show arrogance. Be safe people. You can watch this video and nit pick his disregard for safety
Dye should be ashamed they released this gun and should offer everyone who bought it at least 50% of their money back
