FIRST LOOK: Lamborghini Lanzador - INSANE 1,350bhp Ultra-GT | Top Gear

- Is it an SUV? Is it a saloon on stilts? No! The Lanzador is something entirely new, says Lamborghini, an ‘Ultra-GT’ designed to draw a link between the Urus and its supercars. The good news? It still looks like a Lambo. Oh, and it’s all-electric. Did we forget to mention that? Yep, this is the fabled fourth model that will join Revuelto, Urus and the Huracán replacement (all of which will be plug-in hybrids by the end of 2024) with first deliveries currently scheduled for 2028.
It’ll have two e-motors, one on each axle, and produce over a megawatt of power - circa 1,350bhp in old money. It’ll also deploy rear-wheel steering, self-levelling air-suspension and a “new generation high-performance battery”, according to Lambo.

There is too much hype around a car that isn’t due to come out for 5 years. The design and drivetrain will change dramatically in that time

@@GM-kj6sb yes. That was exactly my point. You said by the time this car is released it’s design will have changed dramatically but that’s not necessarily true. It could look almost exactly the same. You don’t know. As far as the drivetrain goes what do you think they’ll do? Make it MORE electric?

As for the car itself, like every lamborghini concept it's plagued by strange proportions and the same-ish Design cues that are standard since the Reventon.
However, I think the front end looks decent, should be the front end of the Urus. Without the hubble-telescope in the grille a Lamborghini SUV might actually look good.

My reaction after seeing the video: I want rip my eyes off to make myself sure I never see that abomination again in my entire life! The only reason I still have eyes it's because I still remember good Lamborghinis and I surely want to see those
Lamborghini have shown us 2 GT concepts, this squashed Urus and the beautiful Estoque. If this is the one they choose to make real, then the company that gave us the Miura and Countach will have completely lost it's way.

The Countach was actually not the same company. They sold to VW. The Countach was a real Italian Lamborghini. It's not like that anymore.
you're on point, i am looking more and more into cars history, could you tell me about more resources to look into for GT, ev concepts. google searches don't cut it.
This looks a bit like a jacked up Estoque, or is it just me misremembering?
To be fair they didn’t make the Miura or the Countach by following the rules and sticking to existing design cues. When they made those cars they created their own new set of rules and others followed. I’m not crazy about this concept but who knows how it will be viewed in 30 years or what it will pave the way for knowing Lamborghini’s history. It could be a future trend setter and we just don’t know it yet.
I'm really surprised that this isn't a 4-door sedan and not a 2+2. The sedan really worked out well for Porsche.
The real car will be. I'd bet money on it actually.

I actually really like this! At first when I saw a 2 Door Urus I REALLY hated it 😖 But getting to know more about it, this looks like what the Urus should have been! Not a massive heavy SUV, but just a more reasonable and practical Lambo :) And this is that! Of course I like the Revuelto more and as a daily I would prefer something like Aston Martins or Audi RS6s, but I unlike the Urus, I actually like the Lanzador and that's the biggest win for me! :)
So, it’s an EV Urus, that’s been squashed and had a pair of doors taken away? Got it. I appreciate Lambo continuing to be Lambo even as they adapt to a changing automotive landscape. I’d personally won’t want that airy feeling in a Lambo, I’d want to be cocooned in a cockpit-like environment. They should consider doing a DB12-style cockpit.

Fantastic video quality noticable within the first few seconds. Looks (almost) like there is a giant reflection screen positioned below the podium, to highlight the bottom of the presenter and the car. It looks so homogenous. Much more like the F-stops our eyes can perceive. If this is post, well done. I bet a fantastic camera gave you that footage.

This is honestly not more than a fancy sculpture right now, way too much fuss around it. When it comes out everything will be more or less different from what they now say it is. Think about how much changes in 5 years in the automotive world... It's basically just like all the other ultra unrealistic "concepts" most brands love to show at IAA and shows like that, and for that way to many people talk about it as if its real.
When it gets released for production, it might be some kind of Autobot Transformer..

I think the idea is, if reactions are appalled would be owners, they will cancel it.

As a great fan of Lamborghini, I am not opposed to any ideas, yet it looks too much like an SUV, which of course what they were going for, but it doesn't seem worthy to call it a
GT. The Estoque was a concept that had the ideas of a GT figured out, it had its own persona, it's own identity, such is the way Lamborghini should be. Yet over the recent years, starting with the new Countach, I don't get the sense that they're putting in the effort to make it stand out. It's one thing to take a design, inspired from other designs to create an entire new design, and it's another thing to just copy and paste in a subtle way. There's nothing subtle about this copy and paste. And you know, I get they're basically going for an lighter EV version of the Urus, that's okay no big deal, but they act like its going to be its own thing. It honestly doesn't look like it's own thing, but perhaps the designers have their way of doing things, or maybe some people up top want the designers to make it this way and not that way. The essence of their creativity is not lost, it's just not present. I don't care if it's an EV, because that's how the automotive world is turning these days, what matters is how they make it stand to be its own thing. Every Lamborghini flagship has had its own thing, and they've made iterations based off the base model, this is what this feels like, an iteration of the Urus, but slapped together in a way. They have made some things new, which is good, and I'm glad for it so all is not lost. A beautiful car no doubt, and I'm sure it'll look different in 5 years, so I hope it gives them enough time to properly think this one through. But I'd never settle for less, only a Lamborghini.

Looks good now. Something tells me it won't look like this in 5 years. The Urus was a good idea. SUVs always bring in the cash. This would be a good time to bring out another lower cost car. The SUV is a test. If you get it right your customers are ready for more high production cars. Head over to Audi and grab an engine and skip all the carbon fiber.
When you have the Rimac and Pinafarina’s equivalent, I expected so upgrade better from Lamborghini. Not seen a single person like the look of this car.

I think it looks absolutely fantastic. A super car that can actually go over speed bumps. Think I’ll be trading in my Suzuki Swift for one of these straight away.
Lamborghini recognized that their clients are aging and they cannot enter and go out with the usual cars height. So instead of offering them a SUV-look car they raised the clearance height of the car. Giving to their clients the opportunity to actually use the car without being a comedy main character
No transmission tunnel? Kia were doing this in 06 with the Kia Carnival. 7 seats, great engine note, rear entertainment screen and room to run up and down the middle. Best car as a kid.
Since electric cars can be programmed to create any sound, though not sounding exactly like actual one, this car can be made to create sound of any of their other cars.

I think they either need to make it look more extreme, or far less extreme (aka classy), which will be very hard to do for Lamborghini, to make this car desirable.
