I closed the opening with a zipper and used a towel for the fill. Now I can wash both parts as needed for my elderly friend with Parkinson disease. It is placed under her chin to help her keep her head up so she can look forward and while eating.

I just made two pillows and cut the pieces out separately. They were slightly off and not identical as you mentioned, so your idea for sewing the cut-out piece onto the uncut fabric is a great idea. I plan to make a few more, so will use this technique on them. Thank you for saving me time and hassle on the next ones!

Vanessa, thank you for this tutorial. With one yard each of print and sold fabric I have made 4 neck pillows thus far. With a little bit of time and money you can whip up great christmas gifts in no time. I still have to whip up more so I better get back to the sewing machine. Again thank you.

Loved your video. The frustrating part was waiting for the fabric I ordered online to arrive. With 2 - 1/2 yard pieces, I made 3 pillows. Added a handle as suggested by another viewer using extra wide double fold bias tape. Had some fabric leftover so I patched them, matching the nap and made another pillow. My friends love them and I plan to make more.

This is the best tutorial you made in my opinion, not because the other are less good, is because try to found a real comfy travel pillow is very difficult. I travel last year from Puerto Rico to South Carolina, I take 3 planes ride for my son army graduation and the travel pillow was very uncomfortable, it's made with memory foam, but is not fluffy its feel like a hard ordinary foam. So when I try to rest make me feel like my neck rest on top of a hard of wood, horrible. If I see this tutorial before I will made my own travel pillow. But now I can made my travel pillow, thank to your tutorial. Thank youuuuu.

Poly fill is very expensive I just found a AMAZING alternative. Target has these cheap $4 pillows. The "plush pillow" by room essentials. They are full of stuffing that I think is a great substitute for poly fill. I just cut it open and stuffed it right in this neck pillow and it was great! Highly recommend!
