      @deepsoultarot8272 8 месяцев назад +14

      I agree. In trying to "discredit" the witness the way that the attorney did, made them look desperate. And in my opinion, just weakened their case, because bringing up someone's past criminal record in that manner is ridiculous. I commend the witness for taking responsibility for her actions & that shows me her character is a good one. They ALL did drugs, Adam has a MORE serious felony past and although she did make some unfortunate choices in her past, her testimony seemed very credible to me & the defense should NOT have been allowed to badger the witness like that. It just showed how ruthless they are & how weak their case actually is. I think he made a huge mistake doing that

Why would you get to decide somebody else's right and somebody else's defense in their own trial? that's the beauty of the Constitution, you are cloaked in the presumption of innocence and the state has to prove your guilt. You're an asshole if you believe believe what you actually wrote. Yes Adam is guilty as sin. And yeah his lawyers are annoying as hell. But that is their job and it is his right to a defense. Also, she was convicted of creditcard fraud. What if that was your credit card? Would you still be calling her a "lady", or would you find her disgusting? Then a whole bunch of other charges AND parole violations for which she's back in the slammer again this time around. I mean, I get that it sounds mean and unnecessary, but remember that defense's job is to discredit the witness. If she wouldn't have done all those things, she wouldn't have that criminal record, she wouldn't be doing time, and defense would not be able to bring it up. It's her own fault and choices have consequences.

    Imagine the financial cost of this. Beyond the human cost of little Harmony’s horrible short life. . And Adam was worried about police wasting taxpayer money looking for Harmony - when he knows exactly where he put her. The public should know what this evil costs society

    • @peggypeggy4137
      @peggypeggy4137 8 месяцев назад +12

      Yes, with Adam's status as a "career criminal" he should have been permanently put behind bars years ago. He shot someone in the head during a robbery and stabbed another before throwing them out of a car. I think he only got a year and a half for the shooting-- a slap on the wrist. He should never had the chance to take custody of Harmony. Another screw up.

    And if the defence really believes that a witness having drug charges is that bad then why make such a huge point about it all when his client is a drug addict

    I think Rebecca handled herself well and kept her temper in check better than most I know would be able to. As a convicted felon and recovering addict myself I want to say it means EVERYTHING that people in this comment thread have been able to see past her charges and addiction to see the person! Y'all are amazing and it truly restores my faith in compassion and empathy and good will! Thank you for understanding and being vocal about praying for her recovery and success!!
    Those of y'all on the other side of the argument are the problem with society. After she serves her sentence she doesn't owe the community anything except being better every day than the day before. She's taking the very hard path to sobriety. I could assume that the people that make those statements have never had to deal with addiction of any sort or had anybody in their family that they loved her friends have to deal with that battle but I shouldn't assume because we all know what that means. But I will say unfortunately most people of that mindset will never understand or change their thought pattern until it happens to them or somebody they love, and I hope that it does not happen. Even if you would finally understand people like Rebecca and myself. I wouldn't wish that on anyone for any lesson. But hopefully someday you folks will be able to see things less close minded. I'll pray for you.
