I swear these "I swear it's true, Araki said so in an interview" comments are like the type of lies children say to eachother to try and look cool. Like "Yeah, my dad works for Nintendo".
Or that the obviously fake interview on a privately owned channel might not be accurate. I wonder if these people see those Laughter guy Memes and actually think he's talking about the subject presented in the subtitles.
I don't think it's quite as disappointing as Hamon Beat needing to explain to "fans" that when an animal is no longer considered "living" after that animal is brutally killed by a flesh-eating virus.
People take memes way too seriously and it stops being a joke and they actually take it as fact. I remember watching an old diver down video explaining it's power. They deadass said phasing was an araki forgot. Goes to show most are speed readers or get their info from reddit.
I hate how good jokes like araki forgot turned so horrible to even hear now because people took it too seriously. It was supposed to be a light hearted joke for when something doesn’t make sense at first glance it was written/translated poorly. However how people are taking it too seriously and ended up assuming araki is actually a horrible writer ;-;
The thing that annoys me is that its power isn't even phasing. Its power is to store energy and release it. It can also re-arrange a person's internal structure to change their gender, height, weight, metabolism (maybe) and other such things like glucose and melatonin production.
@@giulianovescio8763 wait now that you said it like that, it literally does a Barry Allen and just phases you through object down the molecular level by completely deconstructing your body atom by atom so that it can go through the atoms of let’s say a wall and then reconstructs it again? The Dio example is just depressing. Really puts into perspective how people aren't taught even basic critical thinking skills, where they can't wrap their minds around something as simple as "a name can have multiple meanings an author chose it for".
One of the worst things I’ve come across is the lack of critical thinking some fans have. Such as “Dio said hermit purple was the weakest stand how could it also be survivor?!” Or just the fact that jojo fans misname things all the time such as calling “THE WORLD” (Diego’s the world’s name is all caps to differentiate it from regular the world) to things like “the world high voltage” or calling Jonathan’s stand “the passion.” Sorry for the rant
@@HabitualThinker the "The World High Voltage" thing is something with the Roblox JoJo community. Such as calling it "The World Alternate Universe". That's another big issue as well. A considerable amount of the JoJo community comes from the sheer amount of games there are for it on Roblox. Some of which get 100k Concurrent players. With Roblox's young community I can see most of the issues coming from a bunch of kids who don't actually watch the show. That's also where things such as the idea of a "Requiem Arrow" come from.
@@Drip_Wooper specifically about that DIO and Joseph thing it bothers me so much, because it’s as simple as DIO shit talking and yet somehow people are like “wOW no way DIO shit talking? Imo it's different when people like star wars fans say "what stars fans hate the most are star wars fans" this is true but not from Misinformation & not watching the movies etc. It's that the fans are literally divided by trilogy, series, etc. That makes sense, but I keep seeing people who are jojo fans calling non jojo fans, jojotards, I find it really odd why people are doing this & I blame terrible memes people make about how bad "jojo fans" are, & this makes jojo fans think they aren't a fan because calling yourself a fan of jojo = annoying ignorant fool, now, it's very sad.
Honestly some people will say it's gatekeeping but that isn't necessarily a bad thing to begin with. It's just trying to keep the community nice and clean.
Thanks for doing this, hamon beat too. But I've been victim to this misinformation for so long. So i know how people who believe something that's obviously wrong is right feel.
Honestly the jojowiki is probably one of the best wikis out there I actually enjoy going through random pages from time to time, the art galleries and reference galleries are especially great.
@@iamhungey12345 there are really just a few, but especially when you cut out the comment sections, those wikis become absolute treasure troves of information. ACEpedia for the Ace Combat series, The Omori Wiki, the jojo Wiki and the Library of Ruina/Lobotmy Corp Wikis are greatly sourced. The only other one i actively use would be the warframe wiki, which contains literal masses of informations about the games inner workings, like damage calculation formulas and official droptables, that were previously released within the patch notes on the forums of the game itself.
Those people are so dedicated that they even made a full recollection of every known JoJo reference existent, I visited that page to confirm my suspicions that Kimetsu's Demons and Nichirin Swords are basically JoJo's Vampires and Hamon/Ripple
You know, I have been hearing a lot of JoJo through memes and people meme-ing about it (unintentionally). It did lower my motivation to actually start reading it because I thought I got spoiled some major details already. When I did eventually come around to reading it, I realized most of the info I got from those people meme-ing about it were misinformation and my reading experience was mostly not spoiled.
@@jaysunleblanc3680 I just finished Part 8 recently (I like it), and for the memes, I can't exactly remember which ones I watch since it's been a long time since I actually watch JoJo memes. I do remember people talking about Bruno "ressurecting" and Part 6 connected to Part 7 but I think it's more the people in the comment section rather than the meme itself.
Literally the only good side of this insane misinformation tbh I remember reading that Damo was Josuke's uncle cuz of they way the two were shown together in a cover art lmao
Jojo? Misinformation? Nooo, that could neverrr be the case, I'm sure theres no way theres enough misinformation to make a long series about debunking several common and less so common misconceptions
Only in the JoJo community could you ask a person to cite their sources and they give you a meme video in return. Also part skipping is insane to me. Like even with 7 and 8 that take place in different "worlds", they are still heavily influenced by what came before so skipping any part is missing out on the overall JoJo lore or context. Which would explain how a lot of "fans" don't really seem to understand the series.
I can understand reading 7 after 4, since I did that and understood the contexts and influences of the previous parts since 7 doesn't really have references to 5 and 6 (which I was aware of the references ending there ahead of time), and also because at the time I literally couldn't find a good source of the entirety of part 5 (and they were ALL the infamously bad translations). But now that both the anime and the "Jojo's colored adventure" scans exist, there is no reason or need to skip. However, I will agree that skipping or reading out of order can affect your enjoyment even if you technically could. Afterall, Part 7 is considered the best part, so reading 5 and 6 afterwards can make them seem less good in comparison, simply due to Araki becoming a better writer over time. But really, they are just as good overall, they aren't "worse" parts, he was still a great writer even then, but its all perception since 7 is seen as so special, a magnum opus in comparison. Perhaps I would have loved part 6 more if it wasn't the last one I read before starting part 8 (and therefore being caught up). Or perhaps it would all be the same as now regardless. But its best to just not skip so that you don't potentially ruin your enjoyment.
@@GBDupree Agreed 7 is like another story in another world reading immediately after part 6 is what gives most people the impression it was caused by part 6.

It frustrates me to no end how a lot of Jojo "fans" aren't even fans. They are shitposters, and a lot of them spread misinformation, intentional or not.
To be fair, the memes have gotten a lot of people into the series, myself included with the "out of context Jojo" memes. To also be really fair, the memes have also turned people away from the series too. But I don't think Jojo needs the memes anymore, its a well enough known series by now to advertise on legitimate word-of-mouth and brand recognition. But back then it was more obscure, so the memes helped sell it.

Thats why i wish to thank you for making videos like this that help people know how great jojo actually is.
Yeah, I specially hate when people say he hated the the Phantom Blood movie and that being the reason why the movie wasn't distributed, not only it doesn't make sense for legal reasons, but it also gives Araki an image of an egotistical author who can't accept any mistakes on an adaptation of his work, which is not true at all since he even liked the live action adaptations of Diamond is Unbreakable and Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, in general he seems so much of a good guy to even believe he would destroy a studios's project out of pure dislike (and again, that would probably be illegal)
@@crystalalumina There was something kinda like that with Gothicmade because the writer didn’t want it to be shown to people outside of 4K or something like that so it’s lost media for that reason. I think people get confused with part 8 because a lot of it can't be fully understood with a quick, surface level reading. I was confused with a lot of it, especially towards the end, but after a second more analytical reading I realized that the writing of part 8 is actually very smart and thought out. It makes me sad that so many people say "Toruu is a shit villain" or "go beyond was an asspull that came out of nowhere" when Araki clearly put a ton of effort into writing the story.
I haven't read part 8 yet(only in part 7) but Saying something that Go beyond(or some move or evolution) Came from nowhere is DUMB and they clearly didn't read it carefully

Tbh even tho it is isnt related I love when the "fans" bring up the fact about Hanged Man and Man in the Mirror because Kakyoin states there is no mirror world (which even Kakyoin wouldnt have known and during that time it wouldnt have mattered if there was or not because that is not how hanged man works) and then they go on and try to say Araki is a bad writer because he retroactively made a character wrong on a certain fact
The people are even more retarded than that. Kakyoin is never truly contradicted, because he said that there is no way a stand can attack from a mirror world, so there must be a catch. Hanged Man is just light reflection. Man in the Mirror cannot attack anybody outside of the mirror world and is instead supposed to bring the user inside the mirror first to be at its most effective. Nobody's making attacks out of nowhere.
Kakyoin: "to be fair not thinking magic exist is a perfectly reasonable assumption to make" He has no reason to believe parallel dimensions are a thing, even if they are.

the only thing that makes fugo not being able to get hurt by his own stand is purple haze distortion from purple haze feedback the light novel if its canon its power apparently is the power to fully control his virus to the point where he can make the virus attack itself so it doesn't reach a person or it stops killing them but yeah the og purple haze from part 5 kills fugo

It’s fine to have theories, headcanons and the like, but when it overrides the fan perception of official canon, the misinfo spreads throughout the community like a plague. This can apply to many fandoms, not just the Jojo one. Short answer: Read/Watch it!
Even in this very comment section someone I saw talking about the misconceptions about Diver Down's ability explained how it works and got it wrong. Because he thought it worked differently due to a common fan theory that he used it to change his gender, even though that's not how his ability works (certainly not that easily at least). And he was saying this while expressing frustration that people don't understand how the Ability works. Sometimes you can't just forget theories that make sense to you, Mandella effect and all.
Lol, and then he just replied back with a snarky reply that he "read part 6 more than any mouthbreather in this comment section" and that he "doesn't need a lecture about a stand he knows everything about". Some people can't admit they were wrong, and if he is somehow right, boy did he still fail to make a good argument considering he didn't actually refute any of my points. I didn't even claim to know better but was more inquisitive about how he seemed to explain how the stand works in ways no one has ever done before, and then explained how I (and many others) interpret its ability to be from reading the manga.

The guy seemed to think that his ability was to just change people's internal structures completely, basically he turned Yoyo man's brain into a frog without the frog. And therefore he didn't have phasing powers. But nothing that I can remember supports that. He doesn't only affect internal organs for one, he can even affect non living things too. But he can't just look at someone's kidney and say it's a liver now and it magically becomes one. But he can take out the kidney and put someone else's liver in that spot for instance. And if I'm completely wrong then certainly show me, but that other commenter refused to do that and that is the problem.
This type of misinformation is a good thing regarding media. It not only means it's extremely popular but it's also a natural effect of art. People interpret as they will. If they choose to be ignorant that's on them, but also, people like to believe what they want. (Sometimes.) It's why films makers like David lynch give no answers or context to obscure symbolism or even out right plot devices in their films.
From my experience in the past , Part 5 and 6 were also disliked because at the time there was no good translations of the material. However anyone getting into JoJo from 2016-2017 onward doesn't have an excuse considering that's well after these parts received proper translations.
Agreed! I was already in Jojoland when there was only Duwang translations of part 4 and the really bad part 5 translations. So bad that 4 was re-translated using the JPN raws instead. Part 6 was spearheaded by jojo project and was a lot better. Ironic part is that I had to refresh my part 5 knowledge before watching the anime
Man, I hate it when people treat fan theories and fan fiction from RUclips comment sections as facts. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say Oleana from Pokemon Sw/Sh was homeless and only owned a Trubish before Rose took her in. Where's the proof? On her trainer card, of course! Except... Oleana literally does not have a trainer card, nor does this fan theory show up ANYWHERE in the actual game or supplemental material. Sheesh... Anyhow, keep fighting the good fight HB!
I thought it was pretty damn obvious she has a Trubbish/Garbodor to juxtapose her elegant looks but complement her garbage personality. She has a bunch of elegant and feminine pokemon, but her ace is a Garbodor to reflect her true self.
@@leetri Exactly. It's always been a common motif for the Pokemon of a boss Trainer (i.e. Rivals, Gym Leaders, Elite Four, etc) to reflect their true selves. Another example is Lysandre from X/Y; he's the leader of Team _Flare,_ has orange _fiery_ hair with red-lined clothes and even has a Pyroar, which all _SCREAM_ Fire, but in fact his strongest and best Pokemon is actually the _Water_ type Gyarados, which matches how he's BS-ing everyone as well as reflecting his true destructive and ruinous desires (with Gyarados itself having been known to be a destructive Kaiju-like beast ever since the first generation). Ffs Alan and Tobias literally _DRESS_ like their chosen partner Pokemon - Alan's black and blue clothing matching Mega Charizard X, and Tobias may as well be cosplaying as Darkrai. Sure, it's deep, but not _THAT_ deep.
A lot of people also think that Wally didn't age at all in between ORAS and SM/USUM, but this isn't mentioned once. His 3D model is reused from ORAS but he likely did age in between the games
Yeah I was arguing with this guy a few days ago who was bringing up a bunch of araki forgets from the series, some of his examples were jotaro not using star finger in the part 6 final fight, jotaro using star platinum to jump in the final fight of part 3 (claiming it didn’t make sense how jotaro was randomly flying), and a bunch of other stuff mainly involving jotaro. I explained all of it to him and he claimed that I thought the series was perfect and flawless. I love this fandom lol.
It's funny that someone who tries to find gaps and holes that don't exist in the story accuses you of doing basically the reverse of what they're doing
@@CS1TR7 yeah, it’s not that it’s exaggerated. The problem is that the anime adapts everything the characters say in the manga, which makes a simple thing like a 10 second time stop for example, turn into a 30 second time stop because they have to adapt all of the characters manga lines into the scene. Same thing with characters falling and talking at the same time. It’s one of the pros of the manga when compared to the anime.
This just proves how easily people could believe in something just because some RUclipsr said it, or some joke video. It actually does make me convinced that a good percentage of people aren't actually interested in the source material, but just primarily watching videos around it.
This is why I am annoyed when I see RUclipsrs get facts wrong about a certain series I know and/or like because I know they'll have their subscribers thinking the same bullshit they do. I have even been a victim of this when I watched Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation do a video on one of my favorite games, Bioshock 2. He was super critical of it and clearly didn't like it and I took his words to heart so the next time I played it I was like "He was right, this is shit" though thankfully I gave it another shot after playing through the first so I learned all his issues were bullshit. Still, the fact that it happened to me, and I had played it before (and have had incorrect memories of other series I like) makes me worried about big RUclipsrs saying incorrect things because misinformation about stuff will spread through their subscribers. I wish people with huge followings would be more careful with what they say but I guess they take it as not being capable of making a mistake instead of that they have to be extra careful.
Thank you for bringing up the part skipping thing. It's such a bad faith argument from that crowd to say "wah don't gatekeep the community". No one is gatekeeping anything, most normal people just find it absolutely insane that you'd randomly decide to completely avoid entire story arcs of a series and then turn on the same heel and spread misinformation about the series. Frankly, I think some communities need a little gatekeeping.
Start watching random show from the 30th episode. Claim the plot makes 0 sense. Call everyone who points out your outlandish claim a gatekeeper. We live in soyciety

"Narrowing down the search" when you have a question on a part you read is very useful in online discussion. A Song of Ice and Fire has fan site which allows you to search of the books with a term or phrase, even filtering based on POV character. It helps a LOT when discussing the series to verify claims, and I see people posting exact excerpts on the subreddit and stuff a lot, which are usually taken from that site. Obviously, Jojo is a manga, but as you say there are sites which allow you to narrow it down. Definitely useful in discussions, and people should do this.

I definitely agree with the speed reading thing. I remember deciding to catch up with the series during the part 4 anime and dreading reading part 5 because tons of people said it wasnt good. Once I started reading it myself I loved it though and its still one of my favorite parts overall and I got super excited for an anime adaptation. My first thought after the end was "Did I read the same thing other people did? Its way different than people described." At the time I had no idea how great part 7 was, so I wasn't speeding through to get straight there. I just took my time and thoroughly enjoyed parts 5 and 6.
Well those people probably didn't actually read the same thing as you lol, cuz one of the reasons part 5 was so hated and King Crimson was so misunderstood was because the fan scans for part 5 were near incomprehensible, it was worse than Duwang

I never understood part 1 skippers. Coming from any other anime, even Part 1 is interesting, fast-paced, wacky and, well, bizarre. Nobody has ever been turned off from Jojo because part 1 "was too boring" and didn't have enough rererero or torture dance scenes. *THOSE* are the kind of things that might wierd out and scare off new viewers
I actually love part 1 and I don’t get why everyone calls it the worst part. Though maybe my opinions are just weird because I didn’t like part 7 as much as everyone else
Thank you for always concisely clearing shit up with the meme, anime and even manga community. Always look at the images friends the mangaka (usually) is paid to think about everything in visually captivating ways and great use of smart composition to show you everything. I don’t support speed reading because I feel like you could clear up so many weird questions by just really taking your time with looking at things taking it all in even how the lines curve and bend or how they play with black and whites values etc.
The BIGGEST misinformation I ever got was the story that Araki was forced to change Anasui's gender because they didn't want a lesbian romance with a protagonist. I believed that for so long. Also hot take: if fans want to read part 7, just read it. You don't need to read part's 1-6 to understand the plot. With that said; you miss out a lot of callbacks and references to previous parts.
People get so up in arms about part skipping, as if the purpose of reading or watching is to be able to have discussions about it in its entirety, instead of just being to enjoy a show/manga. I think parts 1 and 3 are important context for 7, but if you're not going to read it in good faith and absorb what's going on, you're not helping anyone by forcing yourself to skim through it. Just understand that it's a series and the more you skip the further your experience will be from the author's intention and you might miss important context.
Pucci brothers skin color misinformation from many becoming over sensitive with such topics. Carefully reading and remembering what took place would have clear up the matter.
The first manga I've read was part 7 (I watched the Anime through 1 to 5 when p6 wasn't animated yet and also I've read part 6 before anime. And yet I believe that part 6 is really a good part and I love it, well not so much than p7 but still a good part.

8:11 Oh god this fucking hit me hard because I’ve seen so many things get taken over by people who are like this. You worded what I was thinking at the back of my head perfectly. This kinda phenomenon has been happening over the last few years with visual novels and I swear half the time people complain about things they don’t even pay attention to the text at hand.
I remember when a couple years ago everyone was ragging on Stone Ocean. Saying stuff like "This is the worst part", "The fights are bad", "Jolyne is the worst JoJo protagonist", and "The ending makes no sense". Then I sat down, read it, and I enjoyed everything people said was bad about it. The ending isn't even confusing if you read it while paying attention. I got it the first time through. About part skipping I remember getting into an argument about it. They said it was okay to skip whole parts and episodes that they deemed as filler. I asked them "If you were reading a long series of novels would you start at Book 3 or skip chapters you didn't like?". They didn't answer. Why watch/read a long running series if you're not going to dedicate yourself to it? The example I like to use is how people critique Naruto for having a lot of filler. This is a valid criticism of the series but if anime filler bothers you so much the manga exists as an alternative. Another alternative is to watch shorter series with little to no filler at all. A 12-24 episode long show can be just as good as a 700+ episode series. I would never advise skipping filler to people just getting into a series for the first time because personally I enjoy watching everything a show has to offer, even the stories that don't advance the main plot. In my opinion they are still stories worth experiencing.
Part skipping is just so nonsensical, I completely understand if, for example you didn't know Metal Gear Solid 3 happens before Metal Gear Solid 1, but in JoJo every part is in chronological order and even numbered, why think is a good idea to watch "Part 3: stardust crusaders" before "part 1: phantom blood", and then some of them say that is cuz is the best part the story, like what? If you were watching Star Wars, would you skip A New Hope just because you heard Empire Strikes Back is better? If you're so not interested about the story just don't watch it
Not only that, but the new viewer CANNOT know if an episode is filler ahead of time anyways. Since they have no prior knowledge of the series' storyline. So, there is no way a new viewer of Jojo could know what parts are "skippable" unless told to them by someone else. And anyone who thinks any part is skippable is not someone who knows what they are talking about. So that's why its dangerous when someone says to skip things, if someone trusts them they could end up messing up their experience of the series in a bad way.
@@crystalalumina in the example shown at 8:28 by i assume mothers basement (there's one of his videos recommended to me right next to this comment lol), i get what he tried to do, he started with part 4 because it needs the least context and then goes on to part 2 because "ooooOOOO who's this old man character, well you're about to find out!", then does the same thing with part 5 and 3. but...why though? i'm not gonna watch his video if he made one about it but the audacity to say "the order i came up with is better because i basically put built in flashbacks in" says enough imo
Araki said in an interview that he didn't write Jojo, and he just woke up one day with a mange written in blood on his floor. Source: Trust me, I'm the one who got the blood
Good lord, JoJo fans are unable to avoid misinformation almost as much as Yu-Gi-Oh players are unable to read. And I'm both of those! Should I be worried about my mental health?
In itself, misinformation regarding a piece of fiction like Jojo isn't a big deal. If someone is convinced that Araki said in an interview once that Dio and Giorno went to a McDonalds together in Minecraft, it might be frustrating to discuss the series with them, but that's about as far as the consequences go. But it's important to develop critical thinking and research habits so that you can apply them to real world problems so you don't make mistakes that dumb with things that matter.
i actually remember when i started watching jojos, and a friend of mine told me how halfway through part 5 a character would just disappear with no explanation because he was forgotton about, referring to Fugo. And i remember being so confused when he left, because it was pretty clear he was leaving the story, and wasn't actually forgotten lol
“People have a tendency to hear what someone says on RUclips and adopt it as their own opinion” I think this guy on RUclips is right! (Just kidding, what you say is actually true. Some people really don’t know what they’re arguing about)
The thing you talk about with Part 6 is so sad. Part 6 is my absolute favorite and I am so glad it's getting an anime adaptation now, but it's an absolutely masterful conclusion to the initial story of the Joestars and Dio. It's such an incredible conclusion to Araki's story.
It's a bitter thing to say, but at the end of the day it boils down to this: a very sizeable portion of Jojo fans are very young or very dumb, or both. Every anime fandom attracts these kinds of people, but for Jojo in particular they're pushed to the forefront of dialogue because of two major factors: First, the complexity and zaniness of the series in terms of plotting, references, etc. makes it easy for a "fan of the fandom" to get caught up in the web, to the point that they'll believe pretty much anything they hear and will not cross-check the source material, either due to laziness or due to the fact that they never consumed it in the first place. I think some people actually LIKE being confused about Jojo, and treat the series as a joke because of this. These people do not worry about consistency or finer plot elements unless they can formulate a meme about them, which only exacerbates the issue. Secondly, and this is something I've noticed about the Internet in general, not just Jojo: younger generations do not make habitual use of search engines. Seriously, they just don't. Ask your ten year old nephew if he can answer a question for you on the Internet, and he'll probably stare at you blankly before trying to find a RUclips video or Reddit post to answer it, using only the search functions on those respective sites. RUclips and other social media has totally supplanted the "information gathering" stage of Internet use, and consequently the information pool for these types of fans appears dramatically shrunk. When confronted with misinformation about Jojo, they would rather ask somebody in the RUclips comment section to support or refute that claim (never a good idea) than simply take a few moments to look it up for themselves. I can't tell you how many times I've been berated on this site and others for asking people who pose dumb questions in comment sections "why not just look it up?" Because that really is the simplest solution to this problem of misinformation. All you have to do is ask the person who makes the claim if they can provide a source, and if they can't, it's probably completely made up.
I’ll admit, I’m not a young person but I was never very good at using search engines and still am not. I don’t know how to “game the system” and figure out the most efficient queries to use because I’m often very literal-minded and search engines are…not. Not that I’m making excuses for the younger generation, but…it’s easy for me to stop trying to use them when it’s been such a frustrating experience in the past.
Finding trustworthy sources should really be taught in school at this point, it's an essential skill because now anyone can say anything and be taken seriously. (Also you're absolutely right that some fans seem to enjoy not understanding jojo bc haha funny weird meme anime)
I've just finished 4th Another Day. Really good novel, the only drawback was THE AUTHOR BEING SO FUCKING SALTY ABOUT JOSUKE'S SAVIOR'S "DROPPED" PLOT POINT. Like, he literally makes characters inside the novel remark how it was "supposed" to be a time travel thingy (one of them saying "It would be like travelling in the past to save your younger self from a snowstorm"), writes a note after explaining to the reader Josuke's backstory to explain that he was so fucking disappointed that the plot point was never resolved, and one of the focal points in the final battle was this guy luring in Josuke by telling him he could find his saviour if he let him alive, just to distract our man at the end by saying "Yeah but what if that guy was you going back in time for some reason?".
I've never really got why people thought Araki would've done a full blown time travel plot. This kind of Back to the Future-esque time travel of going back to fill in a necessary cause for the same timeline end up being poorly written 99% of the time due to the obvious paradox in doing so that ignores basic cause and effect. It's almost like the people advocating that this was a dropped plot point wanted the series to be a nonsensical mess.
I'm at a huge loss about the Lisa Lisa comment. That means people either forgot Jonathan and Erina had a son and Lisa Lisa was his wife or thought Lisa Lisa was Erina's adopted daughter. If it's the latter, maybe I can see the confusion, but that's a very simple thing to check.
@@MasterLu551 I can get why people misses that comment but how can they miss the whole Lisa Lisa's backstory in part 2 where she is adopted by Straizo and later she marries George II? It's like they skipped part 2 or that they where sleeping during Smokey's introduction and during the scene in which Speedwagon tells the story to Smokey while Joseph was fighting Kars to save Lisa Lisa
It's so weird that Jojo is the series that has this amount of confusion and misinformation. I mean especially with a channel like yours that succinctly makes points explaining the truth. Keep up the good work for sure
The Jotaro liking dolphins meme is stupid because not once has he mentioned dolphins. It would make more since if he liked starfish since he wrote a paper on the one he saw in Morion.
I honestly believe that the Italian Dio name origin is more fitting for DIO since he became so obsessed with heaven and always saw himself as a god-like entity amongst humans. Though, Ronnie James Dio does make a lot more sense, especially in part 3 and onwards since a lot of his song names match the majority of DIO's history, such as Holy Diver, Hungry for Heaven, Egypt, etc.
It’s honestly I think really annoying when anyone has an idea of take they dislike they jump to either blame Araki or insult other people on his team such as assistants and editors. Even today I saw someone comment that Anasui change was solely because editors “forced him” to do so, which at this point I feel Anasui’s change is blatantly one of the easiest things to look up with valid sources and comments. It just goes to show people are so quick to comment before checking thinking what they heard/saw is the right answer while continuing to spread the issues. While this was easily cleared up and the OP quickly was willing to accept this as something they had just taken as fact, it wasn’t until soon after someone became upset saying their “head canon” for the character was correct. Again while the issue isn’t within head canons or theories fans, even outside of Jojo, are always wildly quick to push and make claims untrue so they can gain validity in spaces usually for their own takes. I’m fine personally with people who prefer just the memes or sections of parts. It’s not my place nor do I care how people want to consume the media or call them a fan but it’s once people are quick to push their statements as fact or solely believe what they see does it factor as a problem. Mistakes or confusion can happen, I know people meme a comment from a video here about how did Gyro sing about pizza when he’s from the states then saying they never read part 7 but I honestly feel maybe that was purely a name mix up as the pizza not being introduced to America until years later is already a popular thing to point out, so when it’s these small cases it’s easy to ignore but the amount people are willing to just pass off as genuine misinformation is sadly a state fandoms thrive in when people want to so desperate cling to head canons and theory- not knowing you can have both.
I remember in an Araki interview he said that he was originally going to name star platinum “nebula supreme” and golden experience “silver time”. He also said in an interview that emporio was actually supposed to kill dio in part 1 but he ended up sparing him since he realized dio actually had the same stand as him which was low price buffoonery
Hey Hamon, you brought up a good few points with part 6, and I feel like you should look at shuckmiesters "deep dive" into stone ocean. I feel like a youtuber with a large following who seemingly speedread the part then forming bad critiques on it is very bad for the hype and anticipation for the rest of the stone ocean anime, I only bring this up because it seems to be popping up in a lot more people's recommended and I think your channels goal of clearing misinformation would be really well utilized during that. but anyway, great video my guy keep it up
@The Milkman I'm sure he knows yea, but I'm just saying that a lot of people in the comments were agreeing with it and completely disregarding the ridiculous points. and so a lot of people will be mislead, and I feel like hamon could help with that, that's all. but yea shuck is something else lol
It's pretty fitting that Shuckmeister's video starts off with a reference to Mr. Plinkett's TPM review, which in turn features constant misrepresentation or a sheer lack of understanding on what's going on based on not paying attention to the film (or trilogy in general).
@@choueriito2548 I feel like that's mainly because it's just what they would've thought would be cool in the story rather than something that would make it objectively "better" like "oh just bring back dio for the final fight of part 6 because it'd be cool" like no that ruins so much of the rest of the part
Actually, Jolyne Cujo was supposed to be a big black man with their stand "stone free" was supposed to be "drop the soap" and Anasui was in love with big black men. At least I heard that somebody I don't know say they heard it from Araki. (I'm pretty sure you already know but I got to make sure for everyone that this is just a joke.)
It's simple the reason why GER couldn't stop the universe reset, the universe reset wasn't a directly attack to Giorno, also, it wouldn't affect Giorno at all, because the universe reset don't cause directly damages to him.
That's how I see GER's ability. It stops direct effects on him, not every effect, otherwise he'd be immortal. Like, does he not age anymore, can he never inhale something toxic or harmful, can he never get food poisoning or choke? And what if someone is just messing around, like they pinch him just to play, will GER fuck them up for that? So I assume it just stops direct damage but the universe reset was effecting everything, not just him.
The universe reset isn't even an attack, it's just time moving faster. The official stats page for GER does specifically mention an *attacker/opponent* which means it needs direct conflict. If Pucci sped up time specifically to kill Giorno, then you could possibly construe it as an attack and GER might work.
I have a headcanon about how time works in Jojo that could explain it, but it’s just that: a headcanon, and one that requires a very specific interpretation of the P6 ending at that.
A recent one is that people have been making concepts for the idea of JoJo being in fortnite, and whether people think that's a good idea or not, there's a number of people saying 'Araki said no to Epic Games' 'He declined Jojo in fortnite twice in an interview' or something along those lines. Its a good amount of people saying this, I don't know where the rumor started to spread, but there is actually NOTHING on the internet saying he declined. If he truthfully did, then I don't care, its whatever, but it's crazy how badly this new rumor has spread, like you mentioned, people were insanely confident as well as if they knew they were right- and some I even asked to provide me a source- they would just go silent or tell me to search it up.
Unfortunately most JoJo fans seem to be in it just for the memes and not at all for the stories. This is especially true for parts which are not yet animated yet as they are not as mainstream.
I totally understand your frustration here. I'm a serious fan of the Nasuverse, and over here we deal with the exact same fucking problem all the time. Actually, it's probably worse because the Type-Moon Wiki is a steaming pile of garbage, since every time someone who understands the series tries to fix it, it gets "fixed" by the editors who have no idea what they're talking about. So we don't even have a decent wiki to work with. *Anyway,* general point: I know your pain, and I'm glad you made this video so at least the JoJo fandom can have some of it alleviated.
One method I suggest for avoid Jojo misinformation is to not watch Shuckmiester, he has a habit of spreading misinformation in his videos and doesn’t correct them!
@@thatfisherr nah it is definitely deserved, they have some really weird narcissistic tendencies. Go watch that lame ass callout video they made a while ago and you will see why a lot of people dislike them beyond their mediocre content
Yeah, actually not a joke... many people skip over a lot of the depth and subtleties in the series and think that its only a memefest. Of course they couldn't be more wrong.
Bruh araki forgot to mention the part where formaggio was aggressively spanking narancia calling him "jailbait boi" repeatedly and then it went to narancia awkwardly limping for a tiny bit when it should have been for the rest of the part.
Araki once said in an interview that Jotaro forgot how to use star finger because of the equivalent exchange between him and Speedwagon That's why Jotaro could not save Josuke from the past when Bites the Dust sent 3 Freeze stop the car in the snow.
I couldn’t imagine skipping a single part of Jojo! They’re all majestic in their own rights! So much so that though arguably some may be better, to me they all stand at the same level of epic bizarreness! I think not one part is awful! Part 5 was Incredibly Bizarre though but, that’s why I read it! It’s in the name!
How to spot a part 6 skipper or speedreader that only know about part 6 from other part 6 skipper or misinformation about it. They gonna say something like these: "Pucci won and reset the world and everybody died" "Jolyne is the weakest joestar because she got killed the main villain" "Dio is the worst villain, his reason is only about power and immortality" "Jolyne achieved nothing because she was failed" "Jotaro could've easily won against pucci."
The only time stop jotaro timed it right is when anasui work as a bait. Before that, he was failed and outplayed by pucci. And he couldve died if only anasui didnt protect his neck.

The Dio example is just depressing. Really puts into perspective how people aren't taught even basic critical thinking skills, where they can't wrap their minds around something as simple as "a name can have multiple meanings an author chose it for".

@@HabitualThinker the "The World High Voltage" thing is something with the Roblox JoJo community. Such as calling it "The World Alternate Universe". That's another big issue as well.

Kakyoin is never truly contradicted, because he said that there is no way a stand can attack from a mirror world, so there must be a catch.

@@GBDupree It is how his ability works. How else would he turn Yo-Yo Ma’s brain into a frog.
@@alpharius2omegaboogaloo384 by phasing a frog into him and connecting its brain to his. Like a brain transplant essentially. But he still needed to take a physical frog and insert it.
Man even when part 5 only had the bad translation I still liked it back in the day, idk why it was so disliked
I love how her only canonical backstory is literally just ''she was on the computer at her job and than Rose hired her'' lol

Isn't it that the stand jumps were way exaggerated in the anime? In the manga the jumps are only a few pages long same as time stops

This video is very educational and I hope that some people can really take something away from it.
Critical thinking skills are a good thing to have.
Unfortunately the more I look the more I realize how little people actually possess it.
Some fillers can be interesting too.

If Hamon Beat would be a JoJo character he would be Koichi

@@choueriito2548 it’s almost as if they want something real to complain about…
I'm at a huge loss about the Lisa Lisa comment. That means people either forgot Jonathan and Erina had a son and Lisa Lisa was his wife or thought Lisa Lisa was Erina's adopted daughter. If it's the latter, maybe I can see the confusion, but that's a very simple thing to check.
Yeah i've seen many people miss Erina's comment on being pregnant and end up thinking she adopted Lisa Lisa after part 1
@@lordfreezer5631 Maybe HB is right and there are that many people speeding through the parts.

It's so weird that Jojo is the series that has this amount of confusion and misinformation. I mean especially with a channel like yours that succinctly makes points explaining the truth. Keep up the good work for sure
I was today years old when I found out that Hol Horse is a reference to Hall and Oates.

Man... I love your channel, you do a great work
The Jotaro liking dolphins meme is stupid because not once has he mentioned dolphins. It would make more since if he liked starfish since he wrote a paper on the one he saw in Morion.
He's got gold dolphins on his drip tho
@@purplelemondoesstuff3044 Ok and?
Can't wait for youtube to start putting the wikipedia page for jojo's bizarre adventure under jojo videos to prevent misinformation spread.
"Araki said" is the jojo equivelent too "My dad works for nintendo"
People will watch that Giorno and Dio edit about them going to MCDonald's and say it's true.

In an Araki interview, it's confirmed that he does interviews
@@choueriito2548 oh and don't even get me started on his fanfic ending to the part, like jeez
@@intricatepickle5931 Quite ironic how 99% of fanfiction/fan edits attempting to "fix" a series end up making it far worse.
@@choueriito2548 I feel like that's mainly because it's just what they would've thought would be cool in the story rather than something that would make it objectively "better" like "oh just bring back dio for the final fight of part 6 because it'd be cool" like no that ruins so much of the rest of the part
We need a Hamon Beat in every fandom
*Haki Beat, Hokage Beat, Hollow Beat and Hunter Beat when ?!*
haki beat will be definitely be coming up
Isn't hokage beat just swag ?
Actually, Jolyne Cujo was supposed to be a big black man with their stand "stone free" was supposed to be "drop the soap" and Anasui was in love with big black men. At least I heard that somebody I don't know say they heard it from Araki.
(I'm pretty sure you already know but I got to make sure for everyone that this is just a joke.)
It's simple the reason why GER couldn't stop the universe reset, the universe reset wasn't a directly attack to Giorno, also, it wouldn't affect Giorno at all, because the universe reset don't cause directly damages to him.
Cool headcanon
i just thought it was because he wasn't in that vicinity
The amount of patience you have as such an active member of the fandom is nothing less than godlike.
One method I suggest for avoid Jojo misinformation is to not watch Shuckmiester, he has a habit of spreading misinformation in his videos and doesn’t correct them!
shuck makes great content, but sometimes accidentally spreads some misinfo.
still love their stuff, but just be aware there are some inaccuracies

Yeah, actually not a joke... many people skip over a lot of the depth and subtleties in the series and think that its only a memefest. Of course they couldn't be more wrong.

Mother's basement is a plague on anime
Bruh araki forgot to mention the part where formaggio was aggressively spanking narancia calling him "jailbait boi" repeatedly and then it went to narancia awkwardly limping for a tiny bit when it should have been for the rest of the part.
Araki once said in an interview that Jotaro forgot how to use star finger because of the equivalent exchange between him and Speedwagon
That's why Jotaro could not save Josuke from the past when Bites the Dust sent 3 Freeze stop the car in the snow.
They gonna say something like these:
"Pucci won and reset the world and everybody died"
"Jolyne is the weakest joestar because she got killed the main villain"
"Dio is the worst villain, his reason is only about power and immortality"
"Jolyne achieved nothing because she was failed"
"Jotaro could've easily won against pucci."
The only time stop jotaro timed it right is when anasui work as a bait. Before that, he was failed and outplayed by pucci. And he couldve died if only anasui didnt protect his neck.
yeah 99% of the hate the finale of part 6 gets is from people who misunderstood it
