This is the problem with people. When we come face-to-face with wildlife we have the attitude how dare they be there. We have wiped out 70% of the world's wildlife and the last 50 years. When we come across that we think we are in danger.
Guys dont be fooled that cat wasnt hungry ive seen those seemly harmless cat take down 500lb cows and drag it away whenever you see one and its not in stalking mode its not hungry or it didnot get your sent if you dont want to carry a gun then carry slingshot let it know youre not the next meal and dont ever try to make yourself look bigger then all its seeing oh here comes dinner for a week pelt him with some steel balls or even marbles its cheaper and is good for hunting small game too
Then get angry at the state for taking ONE mountain lion out of a population of 10's of thousands so we know where they travel and what territory they cover. They collar very few lions. By doing this, we can better understand where they live and travel so we don't ruin their habitat in the future with housing developments, commerical buildings, or roads. I'd saw a few cats with a tag and tracking collar gives us a lot of information to better protect them. This moutain lion is doing us a great service because the purpose is to help preserve them, not hurt them. We do the same to whales and dolphins to protect their habitat and understand their environment. I want to leave wild animals alone like everyone else, but this is a necessary process since the earth isn't getting any less crowded. Not to mention that tracking collars are also programmed to automatically fall off after a certain time, just before the battery dies.
The mountain lion can close the gap between you and it I’m and instant. A firearm would be your first choice of protection here. Going into a situation like this unpredictably is of great stupidity. The mountain lion probably most certainly saw you first. Have that firearm in your hand ready to fire…be alert!!
Uhh no. It's easy to frighten a mountain lion away without a gun due to how terrified they are of people. Appear larger by waving your hands and yelling can do wonders. If you need a weapon, bring a knife since guns can easily misfire and harm someone else. 9 times out of 10, they won't even charge you.
@@cajayson8301…..Ha!! Are you kidding me? You like your chances with a knife over a gun against a MOUNTAIN LION?? Ha!! Ha!! You can act large and yell with a gun pointed at the lion as well….and….you might save someone else’s life as well.
@@ynotttt no I'm not. Statistics show you're far more likely to be struck by lightning than encounter a mounta lion. A mountain lion will be deterred if you stab it with a knife. As they are ambush predators, they aren't used to prey fighting back. A lot of times, just fighting back with your bare hands will cause them to run away. Do your homework.
@@cajayson8301 ….Ha!!! Ask a hundred people what weapon they’d rather have against a mountain lion in the wilderness….or anywhere else. 99 out of hundred will say a gun. Why?? Because 1 shot and it’s over. I imagine trying to stab a wild cat like that…..he’d tear your arm off in 3 second! The searchers would only find your knife on the ground.
@@ynotttt who cares if they would rather have a gun or a knife? The bottom line is your likelihood of even facing a mountain lion is exceedingly slim. Do you not have proper reading comprehension skills? Do you just like to hear yourself talk? Jeez. Get a clue, Matlock.
