    Absolutely love this painting of your son. Helpful instruction. I noticed that you moved the half submerged branches closer up in the foreground. Excellent. In the original photo the branch placement distracted from the figure (competing for my eye). But in your painting, the figure is still primary and the branch is now "in view" of the figure. This is more interesting & makes my eyes flow naturally through the painting. Also, it reminds me of how kids like to play with sticks in the water, or wonder "whats down there".

      So you can layer the colors as you paint.

      wet paper = colors blend. More blended colors and shapes = stronger, nicer painting.
