Love watching the actor who plays the part of Harry. In several jams over the course of the series but manages to stay calm. Also like the way he treats the women in his life: respects each and every one. The kind of thorough and caring detective you hope is the overwhelming majority on police departments.
It's a brilliant show, the plots, the script and and the acting of all the principals is first rate, The shades of grey of Tony with his arrogance, unfaithfulness and yuppie suits. Still you can't help cheering when he delivers a line to his nemesis at 47:00 "I'll have a case as watertight as the arsehole on a duck". Gold.
We can circle the square here 41:00. ... good plot this one. Makes me laugh. Tempted to do some digging around to find which bits are fiction and which fact. It is written by someone who does know a thing or two. Eye am sure of that.
As if only a single accent be borne by London and its environs..there seriously must be no less than one dozen's worth..per bank there, right.. .. .. . . .
I quite agree; the MI5/Special Branch/Home Office episodes are always so predictable; a Complaint gets made, Clark is asked to Investigate and Said Department repeatedly says "We're not being awkward, it's just we haven't clearance to give that information....and yes, we know a man is dead but that changes nothing."

Excellent series ! Thanks so much for The uploads. Please let us Have more such great series.
Tony Doyle was brilliant in this - made for the role
I think that this episode was Inspired by the Hilda Murrell case. Her nephew was a navy officer, if I remember rightly.
freaking still love this in 2022? love it.

Another very good episode, thanks for uploading
I mainly liked this episode because I liked David morrissey in this very innovative actor.
What fun... Might be one of their best episodes !
The stare-down by Harry at around 31:00 is some outstanding acting. Great show, ahead of its time.
Harry is still alive despite smoking a hundred cigarettes and drinking a bottle of whisky per episode.
Great story and so near reality.
A young David Morrisey!
Also a young Alan Sugar in this episode
the murder in this episode exactly mirrors the murder of Hilda Murrell.
1:57 His life is ruined
5:42 Oily alert! The creepy Nick Dunning.

How can someone live and work so long in London and still have a heavy accent?

4:42 Alan Sugar Appears
Never trust Special Branch or MI5. But especially never trust Home Office.

end up in a zipper bag in the bath tub in a London flat and no-one knows anything etc. yup we know how the story goes.
If anyone says they are working for the home office they are normally working for the secret service,
Deakin has his fingers in a lot of pies.
