- Found this old cast iron skillet at a garage sale for $5 so we are restoring it using the electrolysis method. if you try this make sure it is in a well ventilated area as I believe that this puts off some hydrogen gas. We will cook an egg at the end of the video to see if it sticks or not.
Good find. Nice restoral. You are making me want breakfast again at lunch time.
Thanks for the nice comment. Gotta love fried eggs!
Cool process. Thanks for the demo.

Thanks for the comment George! It is kind of a fun process.
❤Uncle Stevie!! Hi!! I’m so glad my mom showed me your page! It’s good to see you guys and hear your voices ❤ I’m definitely going to be watching your videos. I need help with my brown thumb 😂 love you guys ❤
Holy cow Amee! I am soo glad you found my channel. I hope that I will have some content that you will like. ❤ you!!
I like your setup for electrolysis, I plan on cleaning some tools using this method. I was pleasantly surprised that electrolysis cleaned the carbon gunk along with the rust.
I could smell that egg all the way here in Alaska. 😋
Thanks for your comment. This set up should work great for rusty tools. That egg did smell good I am glad it made it from Oregon to Alaska!
That pan was Seasoned but DAMN I like your style! Good work! Pan is ripping clean now... ... OMFG is that Teflon under all that? I thought we were watching cast iron !!!!?
Thanks for your funny comment. I loved it! Thanks for the complement.
Your pan was made by Birmingham Stove & Range. What they called their Century Series. Probably made in the 60's. Nice pan.
Thank you very much for that information. I really appreciate that. 🙏
What oil and temperature do you use for seasoning. I have learned the less oil you use and having the pan upside down gives best results.
I just used Crisco at 350 degrees for 1 hour on the first two then 400 degrees on the last one. I do wipe off all the excess and like you I bake it upside down. Thanks for your comment.
WOW that came out GREAT, like new.
How many hours total did take?
Can you leave it in too long?
It does work pretty well. I believe I did a total of about 18 hrs. I am pretty sure that you can leave it in for a lot longer and it won’t hurt the metal.
Good egg sandwich
I agree but Timber called dibs.
I have the same battery charger. Gonna have to use to and try this technique.
It works pretty darn good. It works on rusty tools as well.
