I think you have done a very good job on explaining the shot and the way to shoot the shot. I also think your viewers should know that practice time can take a lot of time. Finding ways to do little shortcuts while practicing might be good for them . Example would be when you are shooting balls into the same pocket. The shortcut here would be to have all the balls beside you so you can quickly grab another ball. When you start thinking like this you will come up with different ways to many shortcuts. Having a table with a ball return like you have is very helpful also. Of course i did notice that you have the balls beside you while you were showing us this drill. Thanks for you time keep up the good work. Don R.
@@rossdon3084 hey! Thanks for a very detailed and well thought out comment. I really like your thoughts on short cuts when practicing. It’s all about being efficient with your time/movement to get the most out of the time you have. I try to do this in pool, but also general day to day activities and tasks :) thanks bud!! If you do have a ball return, I’d recommend just standing right by it so the balls feed directly to you after each shot
@@todds4101 thanks for watching and your comment! Yeah some days are better than others for sure. Sometimes these calibration sessions before you play help a lot!
Another important thing to note is that after people get down on the shot, some change the angle of where they were planning to hit initially while standing, which often times results in a miss. Most of our Aiming is done while standing, so we should trust our judgement and just go for the shot.
@@RandomDude7766 100% agree to this. Very important to plan your aim, spin, speed, shape, etc. before getting down on the shot. If you are not feeling 100% confident while down on the shot, it’s important to stand back up, readjust, and confidently get down to make the ball. Thanks!
@ no I’m on about getting down in line with potting angle isn’t this the main reason we miss? The tip may may centre ball but back hand is offline…love these coaching tips keep the content coming 👍👍👍
@ I see what you are saying, and yeah that does make sense. If your grip or stance are off that will also have an impact on shooting straight. I would recommend the bottle drill though still as that will show a lot of flaws. Thanks man! Glad you are enjoying it.

Long ???? Try a blue on snooker to the opposite corner :D Jokes aside, I play pool as well, get yourself on a snooker table to practice your straight shots, because its a lot further you need to be even more precise.
@@PhantomMark Hey bud! Thanks for the comment. I would love to play on a snooker table, but there aren’t any anywhere near where I live. Sad to admit, but I have never played on a snooker table. @@garyperson5916 hey Gary, I have a feeling it’s something to do with wear the camera is on my head and the way I am looking at the ball making it seem that way. If you watch the cue ball after contact there isn’t any left spin on it. I had someone else comment Similar to this
@@EugeneKelly-gc4ki Yeah, that is a good thought, but people who are struggling with consistently missing need to go through some of these lessons to ensure that their shot it straight before muscle memory kicks in.
