Very cool. You just gained a subscriber. Keep up the great work. 👍
@@Wyrmsfire thanks a lot buddy! Means a lot! More good content to come.
this helped so much, always had problems with keeping the cue steady breaking this way. that tick with tucking the thumb and using it as a guide fixed all that, got the 8 on the break twice last night
@@DarthHa did you really? That’s fricken awesome. Glad to hear this was the fix!! Great shooting bud
Stop giving away secrets. Just kidding lol. Like that you included the attempt as well.
@@pt_36 hahaha. Thank you! Appreciate the comment. Shoot well
Don't forget to follow though on your stroke.
@@richardclingempeel6111 very good call out. Thank you sir!
Should I shoot on the opposite side of the table and use low right English being left handed?
@@stevenroberts5641 yeah exactly! I should have mentioned that, but you got it right on
Yesterday, I was playing 8-ball and on the break of the first game, I pocketed a stripe, the 8-ball, and the cue ball, thus losing the first game of our match on the first shot.
@@tomhiggins875 oh my gosh. I’ve done that once before in a match as well. Worst thing ever
Another nice one, coach! would it be the same if I'm positioned on the other side(right) of the rail, but hit low right(4 o'clock) of the cue ball?
@@gregmorales4985 Exactly right!! Thanks man!
My brain is telling me low right would bring the cue ball more towards the center, which would be better for the next shot. No spin transfers to the 8-ball anyway, so why not low right?
@ low right would spin the cue ball off the side rail and down to the end rail if you are breaking on the left side of the table. Low left brings it off the side rail and up towards the center
No need for a long bridge to get 75% power. Use a short bridge with hand on table. I've had good results on some tables 2 full balls off the rail so I can keep the cue inside the corner pocket and stay level. The closer you get to the rail the more you have to jack up to get the low outside english.
@@jfkansas5508 I have tried that way as well. As long as your stick is directly on the rail though with no bridge in between the rail and your cue stick, you should be fine keeping it level and getting the power with English.
If we wanted captions we’d click the fucking caption button
lol didn't even notice until I read this.
wow! very classy, deep s...!
I don't play in any leagues or tournaments where making the break counts as a win. Because it's 90% luck and because it's not in spirit with the game of 8-ball. 9-ball is different because the 9 is always live.
@@ajschroetlin2196 That is interesting and I tend to agree with that. However, all of my leagues and tournaments count the 8 on the break as a win and the 8 on break plus a scratch as a loss, so I do practice it
@@basementbilliards this is a rule solely for APA, in BCA rulesets, this is not a win.
@@andrewobrien5515 I have never played APA before. I play TAP league and it counts in that. As well as at the TAP Nationals
Good video. Got my sub 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
@@irvingsantiago1535 thanks buddy! Really appreciate that

@@phil6815 dude!! Go get it! That would be insane. Let me know if you come close
Hey Adam, great video. I would be potentially interested in remote lessons. Do you offer these? Thanks,
@@GOBIGRED21 there is a membership tier on my channel where I offer that. Check it out! We can make something work forsure
At 4:25 is your stick actually sliding on the rail or is it sliding on your bent in thumb? Because it looks like the stick would be rubbing on the rubber pocket???? No? Starting yesterday i decided to scratch my normal bridge on rail shots so im trying to figure out how to make this piece sign bridge. Rail shots are a weak point in my game
@@stormteam3004 yes is it sliding on the “felt” portion of the rail and barely above the rubber portion of the pocket. No scraping on the pocket and my thumb is tucked as if I’m showing some the number 4 on my fingers. Hope that makes sense.
A few issues with the second ball break is leaving balls in clusters or along a rail, and poor position left on the cue ball.
Thanks for the feedback man! I do agree that sometimes you will have clusters of balls near the inside rail, but i find if you keep your stick level and hit at that 80% mark that you usually will get a nice spread even if you dont make it. Appreciate the comment! Happy holidays bud.
Love how you started this one with the pros. I just watched that one video of the Justin Bergman 8 ball to win. Very impressive tutorial and easy to follow. Love your videos! Keep them coming buddy. 👏 great job.
haha, I also watched the whole thing, that was an absolutely insane match. If only Payne let the time run out he would have had a chance in the 6 ball shootout. Thanks for the comment and watching as always!
Wow! Very easy to follow and understand. I am going to give this a try in my next game. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much! Let me know if you end up making it. It will take a little bit to get used to the unfarmiliar setup need the side rail and the new bridge, but hit it a few times and it will start to feel natural.
This is the best 8 on the Break demonstration I have seen so far! Thanks for sharing and I can’t wait to try this out soon. Saved!
Thanks so much man! I really appreciate that! Let me know how it goes!
Wow. Great explanation. One time I was at a national tournament and a guy on the table next to me made 3 8's on the break in a row using this same strategy! I need to quit breaking from the head.😬
Wow, that would be insane to make 3 in a row in a Nationals match. That is unreal. Yeah give this a try! Even if you dont make the 8, you should still get a good spread on the balls. Thanks for the comment and watching!
hope wasn't racking his own, cause you can leave a gap really easily in the front and it will let the 8 out easier.
@yeah that is a good point. I think the opponent usually racks in those tournaments
@@jfkansas5508 opponent was racking. I would’ve gave them a loose rack after the first one 😛
Great. I just noticed that pool is fun by myself 😂

can i use brown kamui hard tip for my jumpbreak cue?
@@zzerdna I would strongly recommend a hard, phenolic tip for a jump/break cue, but if you are able to get the cue off the table then sure! I have never heard of someone using that though. I would say that is fine for a break stick, but not a jump stick
Ended up trying this and then was able to run out much better than usual. Awesome man!

I prefer no music. It helps me better understand what is going on with each shot. What would help more is an indication of what kind of English you’re using on each shot, and where you’re hoping to put the cue ball when that shot is done. If I could just reliably think even just one shot ahead, that would really help my play.
@@shubinternet thanks for the feedback! I think the majority agrees with no music. In terms of English on these speed runs, I’m either using low (stop shot) or very soft roll center ball. Ideally every shot is a stop shot.. but I don’t even have enough time to think about shape on these haha
Good video.
@@gourmetexchange thanks a lot. I appreciate that!
