Jaguar looks like a dream car, BMW looks like a hire car! Jag's sexy exterior and premium interior are so desirable. They drive like sports too. Jag for me everytime thanx.
No offence, but why do car experts always try to push German cars.
Surely the average joe wants a car to feel special to drive, comfortably and different to look at.
Jaguars have always been an amazingly agile and beautifully engineered.
Audi’s, BMW’s & Mercedes all have faults as do most car brands, maybe don’t just buy into their brand tag lines.
All compact executive cars aren’t large inside, hence the title of compact.
Jags all day long!
Great point, I think I rather have a Jag because all BMW, Mercedes, and Audi's are very bland in design
they dont push them, they are just awesome cars. In pretty much every class, the german cars are the ones to beat. they are the benchmark since decades. its just how reality is.
@@questionyourself718 Apart from reliability, they are shocking
@@lyndontomasi5026 even in reliability they are best in its class. ofcourse a car with half the components is more "reliable".
So glad to read all the supportive comments on here for the Jaguar. All too often in these reviews, they seem to be very 'pro german' and tend to knock everything else. For me every other car on the road today seems to be either a BMW, Audi or Merc, and when considering a replacement for my Audi A4 i looked to the facelifted Jaguar XE. I thought it was a very impressive car from the point of view of design, looks and interior quality, but the icing on the cake was the way it drove. It just seemed a so much nicer car to drive than my A4 Quattro. Therefore I had no hesitation in ordering a new XE R Dynamic with the P250 engine and now eagerly waiting for delivery.
How has it been over the last 3 years? Thinking of purchasing this now, would love to hear your thoughts!
@@RhuvyT1 Have not regretted my choice at all. My car is 3 years old now and I have done 27,000 miles. In terms of reliability it’s been almost 100%. I had an issue where the journeys weren’t being recorded in the In Control App and this was reset by the dealer under warranty. And last month the adaptive cruise stopped working and the fault was traced to some corroded pins in a connector behind the front bumper again all sorted under warranty. The P250 engine is very good and regularly gives me 40 + mpg on a good run. As for the driving experience probably the best I have ever had and the feel and handling is excellent giving a very stable and sure footed drive. The Jaguar community is fantastic and we really enjoy going to clubs and meets and chat to other owners. Everyone is very friendly and always willing with any helpful advice etc. Finally the looks. They say if you don’t look back after you’ve parked your car you’ve bought the wrong one. Well I always find myself looking at it and it always brings a smile to my face. Good luck on your search!
Yeah. A lot of us got tired of always seeing boring BMWs, Audis, Mercedes, etc. German cars are kinda boring and bland now. I have a 2018 Jaguar XE V6 supercharged and love it. Great looking car compared to German cars. Jaguar as a brand is truly a bit underrated. Reliability is great on their petrol engines such as the V6 supercharged. Diesel engines are why these cars get a bad reputation for reliability.
I've had 3 series for 20 years. All with nice engines. The last one was the 330i. A good car. However, they are everywhere. Now I am the happy owner of a XE S. Goes pretty quick, limited to 265 km/h. Have a wonderful sound (you Brits call it noise, but I cannot understand why). The driving experience is wonderful. And, it is a true head-turner. In total, much more satisfied than what Munich has to offer.
"you Brits call it noise, but I cannot understand why"
Could it be because it's their language and they know how to use it?
z00h , you can use either, neither is wrong and there was definitely no malicious intent here. It simply depends on your background, personally I use the two words interchangeably as they mean the same think :)🤷♂️
@@jammy2597 "personally I use the two words interchangeably as they mean the same think"
that stinks of ignorance
@@z00h A poor point. Many native English speakers make errors and foreigners often speak it more correctly.
Noise in this context Is purely a colloquialism, used by tedious car reviewers trying to be edgy. Think Jeremy Clarkson.
Take the XE every time. I don't sit in the back of mine, I just drive it and my gearbox does not have the quirkiness described. It learns how people drive and adapts over time. Since this is a short loan just for a video, no surprise it doesn't yet match this particular driver.
I agree. I've had my 2017 XE R Sport 25t AWD for 2.5 years now and I have found it a superb car. I added a TDI Tuning box which boosts the power a bit more than the 250bhp although I'm not quite sure by how much. The car is plenty quick though when in Dynamic and Sport. Petrol consumption is not that great as I do much of my running in town. Average is about 32mpg although on a long run I can get about 40mpg.
I have ordered a 250 Dynamic - s version to be delivered next week, this replaces our R Sport that has served us well with no problems for four years. Having had both a 3 series BMW, and C220 Mercedes the Jaguar is more than their equal; and its made in the UK with British workers. Great car.
We're loving our 2018 XE S, with the supercharged V6. It drives better than the competition (which we test drove) and comfortably out performs them too.
I'm 6'2" and can sit behind my own driving position, really don't see what the problem is?
V88 Dicky this reviewer has a downer on jags like most English utube so called experts. My son just bought the xe in s trim with the r dynamic package. Picked it up yesterday it’s the p250 as he has bought it privately. Perfect rear seat room for anyone and he too is 6’2”. I wonder how many sales are lost to English workers because of pricks like these?
@@dreworoirden7675 Couldn't have said it better myself Drew 👍
BMW is just boring. I live in munich u ganz believe How many of them i see on the road every day. But a Jaguar XE is an eyecatcher
I’d take the Jag over a BMW every time. BM’s are to a penny on UK roads, Jaguars, not so much. They stand out more on the road.
Totally agree. Every other car seems to be either a BMW, Audi or Merc. The Jaguar XE looks so much better than any of its german rivals and is more exclusive.
Yeah until you have to deal with problems and dealerships 🤣
Without doubt the jaguar is a better drivers car than the German default options
I’ve driven the new 3 series ( over a long weekend) and like for like (320i vs Xe p250) jaguar is the winner, so much so I’ve bought one! The jaguars steering, handling and dynamics are class leading, if you are in the market for a ex saloon then just try the Jag, it may just surprise you more than you think?
How long have you owned your Jag? Any issues with it?
@@Elijah-cy9do
18 months from new, not one snag with it!
XE any day why do we keep putting the UK made cars down omg if it goes what then
I got the impression that this reviewer had it in for the XE before he even started. Nitpicking the interior details was over the top and I couldn’t see what he was complaining about? He clearly is a BMW man and everything else is second rate!
I think BMW slip them a bag of Euro's😂😂
Buy a boring BMW over a Jaguar? Why? The Jaguar is designed, the BMW merely engineered.
Your kidding yourself. I talked to a German engineer who had left BMW and came over to work for Jaguar and he said the perceived engineering that BMW have got is false. They have to many models and to many chassis. The Jaguar XE, the first model and this new one is still the best handling in it's class.
The BMW is just another BMW. The Jag is a Jag.
Giving a Bmw a score of a solid 10 that an insult the facelit is nk way better than the previous generation 3 series. Reviewers just hate giving credit to the Jaguar. It has the best interior space it got the looks, sufficient power for highway cruiser. But they will complain about the rear seat space who put adults there
Take the XE
With dealer discount the P250 is cheaper than a well speced Focus, a huge amount of car for the money
I’ve got a p250 and it’s the most exciting car out of the two to drive. The bmw inside is so bland. Something the reviewer fails to mention. Jag any day.
CarGurus has promotion-contract with bmw i guess..
Haha I lost this at the point when he said the the steering wheel is too big.but I love the BMW 3 with a wheel you can barely get your hand around.
Sorry car guru, you've lost an audience member, your nit picking over the Jag and fawning over the BM was too much for me. Away you and enjoy your common German cars and leave the drivers cars to us Jag lovers ;)
Yes, I would prefer an XE over a 3 series...
I'd take XE over Merc or Beemer anytime. Just because you see those other ones at every corner but XE not so often.
Isn't this the similar gearbox as one in the BMW? I agree with many below. Journalists are biased. How could this car score 7.5 vs a G20? They are much of a much.
I'd buy any British made car over any EU German box however inferior you say it is. Sod the EU and the German automotive industry, Buy British and be proud you support British workers 👌
I love my Jaguar 🐆 … She is Gorgeous !!!
No BMW is 10 out of 10 , the 3 series used to be rare & exclusive , now they are far more common than any equivalent Ford or Vauxhall , depreciation will be horrendous in the long term when hundreds of thousands of them in the UK struggle to sell on the 2nd hand market out of warranty as parts & maintenance costs are so expensive & thats before you take into account some recent reliability surveys were they have come last by some margin ! europe.jdpower.com/press-releases/2018-uk-vehicle-dependability-study europe.jdpower.com/press-releases/2019-uk-vehicle-dependability-study
Jaguar, all day long. UK built by UK WORKERS, LET'S KEEP UK WORKERS IN JOBS. The differences in sizes in the back seats is in mm, let's face it, mm whether it be 10 or 20, I defy Joe public would've be able to tell the difference. Then it's usual they go on about the boot size, another fallacy of all reviewers. German cars are reasonable but they have numerous faults as do Audi and Mercedes, but if you go by What Car, the Germans build a perfect every time.
Yep!! I'd take the XE anyday!! BMW's are a bit of a Mondeo as in that they are here there and everywhere. For a standard regular driver I doubt half a second in throttle response is going to make much difference, plus the Jaguars come with indicators, it would appear that BMWs don't!!🙄🙄
Jaguar is better than Mercedes bmw and all others
I'd take a trabant over a 3 series!! The Audi, the Giulia Veloce and the Jaguar XE one will be my new car next year. Heart says Alfa, head says Jaguar!!🤔😂😂
How often do you have people in the back apart from the kids? Jag for me over a BMW, new C Class is looking good too. Pity jaguar dont have a hybrid.
Is that car affordable?
Jag more priority than mers and Audi
This blokes had a brown envelope from munich
I'd get an Alfa Giulia over this all day
Couldn't agree more.
Couldn't agree more.
Yes and sit in the service waiting area whilst it’s being fixed again!!
Sure you would, perhaps 2 - 3 people from 100 saying I would take Giulia, or Alfa Romeo is passion choice, choice by heart would really choose Alfa Romeo! If only half of those people are not liars than Alfa Romeo would be completely on different selling number and not so poor!
Why does everyone thing BMW 's are amazing? I've been in one once it was like a tin can, A worse build than Vauxhall. The Jaguar felt like a premium car even just a mid spec XE.
great indian car
Let me hear you after 100 tmiles in XEs

Horseshit review, clearly never owned a Jag.
All these comments standing up for Jaguar...
It’s to expensive.
