I have to say ive got the original 2015 car with not to many touch screen things .Touching screens and driving isn't safe in my opinion. The cabin is slightly noisy compared to others but when i drive the jaguar xe i cant help but smile every time its a fantastic car 👍
Took me about 35 years from the first time I sat in one and decided I wanted one someday. I now have a 2018 XE 20D. "Kitty" was well worth the wait and grind. Come back and let us know when you get one!
I was first about to get the XE but found a great XF and glad I got that one instead, the size upgrade, look and feel is just amazing. Mine is 2018 XF with the 2.0 Diesel. Please get the XF instead, you wont be sorry. (Ps. get the R-sport, you will grin even more.)
I don’t see much difference between using a phone on the move and changing vehicle settings on a touch screen. I can change most settings in my 3 series without having to take my eyes off the road via click calibrated manual switching or voice control.
I wouldn't choose the cabin over the previous XE. I think you've all lost the plot with touch this, tiouch that. The previous gen was spot on, with physical controls for the heating and air con and a series of buttons around the touchscreen to get you right into the screen you needed. Every manufacturer is now following the form over function mantra and it''s not improving interiors, it's runing them as well as making the roads a far more dangerous place to be while everybody plays with their touchscreens instead of concentrating on driving. The tragic thing is most people won't realise it until it's too late. Other than that it seems a shame to have lost the novel rising gearchanger. I thought thre old car was perfectly fine and definitely underrated - anyone not considering it as an option was definitley missing a trick in my opinion, so I'm glad they haven't tinkdered too much. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Fully agree. The cabin of the previous gen with its dials and knobs is much better to live with and drive. The screens add nothing. I have not updated my MY18 model deliberately.
I’ve just ordered a new 21 plate Jaguar R Dynamic HSE MHEV diesel and it looks different to this car. It has paddles and the front intakes don’t have that bar across the middle. What version is this one?
This isn't the R Dynamic Black edition. It looks like and SE with a black pack. The R Dynamic comes with sportier bumpers, aluminium shift paddles and incombination with the 8 speed ZF gearbox in sport shifts like hell with the hybrid system, along with 14 more horse power. BMW G20 320d M Sport is around £7000 more. Compared with the R Dynamic black edition just isn't worth the extra money (pcp over 4 years for the BMW for the same monthly payment) against 36 months with the Jaguar, making the Jag better value. Since brexit, BMW raised their prices 10% overnight as has increased since....for what exactly?? Its not a bad BMW just over priced. The Jag handles the same as the BMW 320d M sport with adaptive suspension ( likewise is the R Dynamic). You can also order it with a heated steering wheel (£185 why wouldyou not have one? Its the only point of contact with your hands other than the gear lever and controls) without having to buy the comfort pack at 2k in the BMW. You can really spec one up to how you want it without all the extra stuff. I ordered one in Eiger grey, heated steering wheel, adaptive dynamics, hepa filter and ioniser, meridian 360 sound and adaptive front headlamps. Cycle carrier and roof bars. Perfect 👌
I have this car and came from a 2016 320. The BMW is better. When you review cars you need to state if the equipment you show is an option or not. The ride is great on 18s but 19s makes it too firm.

Considering getting one but you didn’t say how tall you are for leg room. I can’t fit in a 3 series BMW so looking for alternatives.
You said there's no option for padles but some xes on auto trader clearly have paddles

I find the interior very sleek.
is the suspension comfi or sportive ?
Seems to stiffen up in dynamic, where eco and normal modes seem softer. All are comfortable. Traction control mode is great in the snow as well.
If we take a look at the sales stats its plain to see the XE is very far from being a 3-series slayer.
