    There is one thing Jaguar really knows, and that is to make suspension setups. Nobody can match their combination of comfort and sportiness. At the end of the day these cars are made to drive on the road and not on the track.

      Yes, they hit the nail right on the head. A comfortable car that you can enjoy a spirited drive in 👌🏼. Oh, and looks like it was designed by someone with a pulse.

      Agree. The s type is awesome. Both firm AND plush. Plus excellent balance in corners. Wont compete with a Ferrari F8 but id rather sit in the Jag on longer journeys though. Horses for courses.

    Thank you for both your reviews. I bought a 2017 XE 25T R Sport at the end of January 2020. It was a demonstration model with all the extras you mention, including premium DAB radio, infrared reflective W/screen, Sliding Panoramic Roof, Heated Seats, Heads-Up Display, Black Pack,19" Venom Black and Grey Spoke Wheels. It has Sports interior Jet with Oyster stitch Mesh Seats.
    It had 8000Kms on the clock and now has just over 10,000. I went on a driver training day three weeks ago and apart from a BMW 330 with M bits, it was the quickest car there. The handling is very impressive, and to say to that I am happy is understandable.
    Just saw Harry's Garage reviews of the XE P8 SVO. What a car!

    Bought a former dealer loaner 2020 XE S 2.5 AWD for my wife and I took it out for a spin and I found the engine to be very responsive (as good as my supercharged V6 in my F Pace when in Dynamic and S mode) and the car just handles so well, it is a total joy to barnstorm in on country lanes or the curves around town. With the newer posher interior from the F Type, the 2020 was a no brainer especially with the 6 year 100 K miles CPO warranty from Jaguar USA and (wherein the warranty tolls from the in-service date as a loaner and not the in-service date at the JLR dealership) and it comes with the Elite Care free maintenance & roadside assistance for 5 years.
    Everyone should drive an XE once in the USA because it is so much more fun to drive than a BMW, Audi or MB. Honestly, the looks alone make it a winner but once you sit in it and throw it about, you will buy on the spot if you can find any CPO cars in the entirety of the USA - about 2 per month is what comes up on web sites nationally. Just happened to see one at my local dealer 4.3 miles away and jumped on it like a duck on June bug.
    Can't believe most people prefer Audis, BMWs and MBs to this car. Screw the back seat, it is for dogs (American Akitas, who like it just fine, as they also like the back seat in the F-Pace). Nothing like driving a Jag with the back windows rolled down so a 140 LBS unaltered male American Akita show dog with a bear sized head can stare at the soulless Teutonic competition at red lights. Bravo Zulu Jaguar. Every big dog needs a big kitty.

      What about long term? I traded in my 2019 Chevy Malibu for a 2019 Jaguar xe 25t with no prior knowledge of Jaguar really and paid a $5,500 difference, the Jaguar has 55k miles, Malibu had 52k, hoping this car will last some years, probably longer than the Malibu I traded in would have because the Malibu has a CVT transmission

    Glad to see you still have this. I watched all the content you made on it when I was looking at buying an XE. Fully intended to get the same model you did but left the dealer with an XE S haha. It’s a bit thirstier than I’d like, but the V6 just sounds so good.

    • @ForTheDrive
      @ForTheDrive  4 года назад +3

      Tbh if they had a V6 at the right price when I went to buy mine, I would have walked out with the S a happy man but at the time the price difference was far too much in my opinion. The sound and power is worth the MPG though wouldn’t you say? 😊

    • @SGHtech
      @SGHtech 4 года назад +1

      For The Drive haha, I keep telling myself it is. I try not to have the live mpg on screen, in dynamic mode it’s very often showing 1 mpg when having fun 😂. But on long journeys it’s actually not that bad. I just need an excuse to go on more long journeys. I should try and go along to a car club some time.

      Good reliability, however watch the puddles, as they can render your Power steering defunct. Diagnostics / Jaguar will always state that a (£4K+) new steering rack is required, purely for water ingress ... however it is not necessary at all. There is a plastic box at the end of the steering rack. It just needs dried out and waterproofed with some waterproof fabric, tied with tie wraps, plus steering recalibrated. - This did the trick for me, after a local diagnostics firm collected my vehicle on the recovery truck and let me know this. Job done. Steering is 100% great now. Love from Scotland, X.

    For The Drive, can you tell us more about the TDI box vs. getting the car traditionally tuned? I’ve got a almost identical 25T here in Australia, and I’m curious about doing it, but I’m a bit weary of the claims of some of these thin g box manufacturers (go see Mighty Car Mods where they dyno’d some and found no difference) and I’m wanting to consider some options for power.

    • @ForTheDrive
      @ForTheDrive  3 года назад +1

      It’s entirely down to the person, I went for the clip on box as I was worried about warranty issues at the time and wanted to be able to remove it, but a proper re map with a few minor mods under the bonnet may provide a better improvement.

    • @alfrede.neuman9082
      @alfrede.neuman9082 3 года назад

      @@ForTheDrive fair enough. I’ll probably look at the remap option, given that our early XE’s are now out of warranty. As I understand it, the Ford 2.0L actually has quite a lot of potential, and should be capable of more than 300bhp reliably if done right... I’ll let you know how I go!

      I own one of the earliest XE models made, they were released around 2015 so 8 years 100,000 miles is not that easy to envisage but I can say for the 5 years that my car has been running and the 4 years I’ve owned it now it’s been absolutely amazing, never skips a beat.

      For The Drive thanks I really like the XE’s look, my main concerns are the lack of space for rear passengers and that maintenance seems to be more expensive in the jaguar in comparison to its German rivals.

      I have a nearly identical 25T, and I’m 28, for what that’s worth... I think you’d find it very comfortable and fun when you want it to be. I’ve done 1000km trips across Australia in mine, and it’s incredibly civilised, but you can definitely overtake a truck if you need to!

    i'm currently looking to buy a Jaguar XE (currently drive a new Mazda 3) but are unsure. I have a 2018 model I found online with only 15,000 miles but im starting to think given this cars age, released in 2014, do you think its simply too old now to get one?

    • @ForTheDrive
      @ForTheDrive  2 года назад

      I don’t think it’s too old, my one is one of the first made built in 2015 and has performed amazingly well. The facelift model has a few upgrades which will help alleviate your worry as they addressed any issues that appeared as all manufacturers do but i think with all cars if you get a good one, it will look after you. I’d look at the pricing for the facelift, see whether it’s in your price range, if not just make sure whatever car you look at has FSH from Jaguar or a specialist. I only trust Jaguar specialist and it makes a difference.
