Brilliant vlog Del, I was in nyc recently (from London uk) and I managed to pick up a 118 which I love. If you haven't heard of gold top you should give them a try lovely quality leather bike jackets from the UK. Keep up the good work dude 👍. Jeff
This is such a helpful, useful, important video if you love Schott. Well-done and thank you! I want a lambskin because it's one I don't have and imagine how soft it is!
I am glad you made this video! I am an owner of a P628H because it was a relatively cheap way to get a Shinki Hikaku leather jacket. It looks very good in person. I also have a 613 One Star and fell in love with that jacket. I want to increase my collection of perfectos. This was a great video!
@@DudsByDel I will have to post it somewhere. When I get it up, I’ll link it to you here. Perhaps Reddit or Fedora Lounge. I agree that the 628 is busy in the front. However, it is one of things that bothers you…until it doesn’t. Then it clicks and is something special. I am not sure if that makes sense, but the more I wear the jacket, the more I like it.
I'm getting the 618 soon, my local Moto store (not an official Schott store but a authorized vendor) mainly stocks 613s, but if you request them to order another model of Perfecto, they will gladly hook you up. My 613 is going to a friend.
Oh Yes. Great video, Del! Schott has so much history! I think the 613 and 618 are so similar. Of course, the stars on the 613. The 618 has the branded snaps and the snaps on the collar. And, the 618 has the extra snap on the back of the collar and accepts the faux fur collar.
Thanks a ton man! I’m going to add the fur collar snap to the description, not sure if everyone will see it but it’s an important distinction. I know there are undoubtedly other smaller differences between the models but trying to get into too much detail would have made this video hours long 😅
@@DudsByDel I get it. We have to give it to Schott, they are offer so many models, sizes and hides. Something for everybody and proves that not all leather jackets are the same. Love Schott jackets!
I have a schott x 3sixteen jacket that I absolutely love. It comes in a 519 fit but without the belt and the epaulettes, and comes in a beautiful tea core horsehide. Fits pretty slim and comes in letter sizing, which I picked a small. Couldn't be happier with it, and I'm lucky I even managed to find it considering how they only made 100 of each size.
I wish Schott (and every other clothing company) would post actual measurements online. I always wonder what the maker is trying to hide when they don’t as it just leads to frustration on the potential buyer’s part.
I think it’s partially a way to get you to buy from them, considering their fast shipping and easy exchanges. A hedge against everyone only buying second hand all the time
@@DudsByDel It’s the opposite for me as I live in Canada, plus when I see the lack of measurements I wander off to a more amenable site, maybe Grailed or Marrkt…
Got a 118 myself, most amazing leather i have seen in my entire life by a large margin ! Other more mainstream/popular brands are laughable in comparison. I'm very curious about the 213mo, i've always dreamt about a supple schott perfecto, since i prefer lighter jackets. If you ever get your hands on one, please make a video about it 🤞🙏
heads up that while the 118 is generally longer than the 618, weirdly the 38 in 118 IS the same length as the 40 in 618. i am waffling between the two (i have a 626 but feel like it's too baggy/too long in L and M was too tight in the shoulders), and i just got the specs on both and the 618 40 and the 118 38 are both 25" long in the back
I’ve got a 618 and just got a new 118. I love them both but actually prefer my new 118. Just find it more comfortable personally and like the leather better. I occasionally untuck my shirt but still usually keep tucked. Also a couple little things that lead the 118 to be my favourite…the snap for the belt keeps it from hitting against things. My 618 hits on my car door when I’m driving over any bumps. Also another little thing but that makes a big difference for me is the 2 pockets on the 118 vs the one map pocket on the 618. The 118 still has a map pocket but on the right side and a more regular leather topped pocket on the left which is perfect to hold my phone. With my 618 I still end up putting my phone in the “map” pocket and have occasionally had it fall out.
Hey Duds by Del, wow, that was a thoroughly and really helpful revue to the Schott's leather jackets! Great, I love it! -They really have an incredibly wide choice of leather jackets only in the perfecto classic styles. - I admire your wide knowledge in this field. - What surprised me on the other hand a little bit, was, that the Schott's perfecto 525 with side lacings was missing. Do you eventually know, if Schott's has already discontinued that special model, which is actually a reissue and more modern update of their model 125 from the middle 1990-ies? - I am always watching your videos with great pleasure. - Just keep on rocking your leathers, man! Wishing you all the best, peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.
thanks, very usefull video bro. I actually bought Calvin klein biker leather jacket and couldn't recognise which style it is by number. how can i find it?
@@GeorgeGogoladzeGG thanks George. Are you asking which model your Calvin Klein jacket is? The model numbers in this video only apply to Schott jackets
I have p613s in size small I love it only thing is it’s little too heavy when I wear it for more then hour my shoulders start to ache because of the almost 8 pound weight but I still wear it everyday 😂 lol and also break in is brutal had it for 2 years and just now it’s sorta comfortable.
from these pictures, perhaps 613 has a bit smaller main collar than 618 also minus the snap and so the epaulette tip is completely exposed on 613 while on 618 the epaulette tip is partially hidden under the main collar
If you could discuss footballs vs non footballs that would be helpful. Ie 618 vs 626. I agree that a shorter length jacket is more ideal in terms of style. I wish the 626 was a 24-25 rather than 26 in. Im trying to decide buying a 618 over the 626 but worried how the footballs would feel and look in terms of aesthetic.
I think if you’re not in a position with your arms out front all the time, just footballs or just action back is plenty for range of motion in my opinion
I’ve heard the under arm footballs are not made of leather, is that true? I’m comparing the 618 to the Vanson C and my use is strictly moto riding thoughts between the two
Currently they’re definitely leather. Most jackets it would be leather. Maybe a time when they tried something else? Schott in particular had a period in the 80s I think where cost cutting led to some unfortunate choices
Which jacket is regular or larger length wise cuz I have the 613 and it’s too short for me lol I have a lil gut but it fits me on the chest and everything
