I wish people wouldn’t drag the people they work with in the comments. Try not to judge others too hard, no one is perfect. I think they’re amazing for admitting they need help & finding such experts to point them in the right direction. Parrots are hard work, with a life long commitment, they’re also the most re homed pets in the world. These people didn’t “give up” & re home (which in most cases causes more issues for the bird) they’re trying. I think they’re respectable for that.
I know right? Bird people I've found are some of the most sanctimonious judgmental pet owners I've ever come across. People will stop participating in these videos
It might also be the way they interpreted what the person was telling them to do. Sometimes people do not communicate well in the two way sense. Like it might have been that they wanted one primary person so that there was for sure someone the bird would fly too and to limit the confusion from two people doing two different things and then work another person in down the line. They might have been trying to reduce the "noise." That house was stressful to me through the video with all the stimulus and things happening how would it be for the bird. I could see someone deciding to try to limit that by reducing the number of people giving ques. They also may be coming from the point of view of someone who worked in a zoo or some such where if the bird were passed around a lot it would then not really have motivation to go to someone risking a fly off. Point is the interpretation might not be the end goal or the thought process of the trainer.
Right? The mere fact that they recognize there's room for improvement and are paying for consults & training is a huge step in the right direction. It's not realistic to expect perfection. Some bird videos ARE disturbing and owners can be downright abusive (feeding birds twinkies) or neglectful (zero toys in tiny cages), but this one isn't.
I’ll admit, I read some of the comments before I watched the video expecting much worse. The owners seem loving and kind and conscientious. However, the acoustics in that room were driving me crazy as a listener. I don’t think people are dragging anybody, just interacting with the video as loyal fans, stating what they noticed.
@@teledoink Jamie and dave have surely done the proper quiet uninterrupted sleep and proper diet advice (cage we saw looks like it's in a busy thoroughfare) I can't wait to see their progress. I'm sure the change will be dramatic!!
@@lisalee6393 OK well I know that a crew was right outside of our window for the past few days removing a tree that fell in a storm, and the beeping from the caterpillar and the sawing noises made me birds fly around and scream like crazy. And then they calmed down as soon as the crew was gone and the beeping and loud machinery stopped. And we give our birds 12+ hours of uninterrupted sleep, and they eat extremely healthy Top’s pellets, fresh chop, and only 20% of their diet is Tops seeds. So they aren’t hormonal. My point is that it is my direct observation that birds have sensitive hearing and get crazy when there’s loud beeping in their environment. Ok thanks for listening
I just woke up and I get a Birdtricks video! Awesome! I don't know if I would even consider him a fully one person bird, if he'll step up for strangers and be gentle with treats. It looks like this family really cares about their birds and wants the best for them and the whole family. Can't wait to see the rest of the series and how they progress!
Maybe it's just me but the "GOOD BOYYYYY" might also be problematic just cause he says it so often as opposed to saying it immediately after the trick is successfully perforned
I didn’t think he was “good boy”ing too much. If he had been giving positive reinforcement too much Dave would have corrected and stopped him. But the beeping noises in the background were out of control
Gotta say I love their chill corgi hanging around, and seeing Capri interact with their other birds and animals. Their ghost chairs are pretty cool, too.
Sven definitely appears to be so much loved by this family. I love seeing his happiness ❤ and to see the owners so dedicated to having an in-house consult to have specialised help. I was wondering at 5:00 min into video whether he is not happy with the a roof on this cage. (It also appeared in the previous video that he was saying he wants to be higher than Dave when in his cage). But then he suddenly became calm. He really likes Dave. I’m not sure if this is his regularly cage but my cockatoo did not handle his new cage with the roof on. Thanks for sharing ❤
It seems RARELY about training the birds and always about training the owners. Feels like mandatory owner classes for any humans wanting to keep birds is a no-brainer.
Fun video! Thanks for sharing 😁 I have a GCC who's got some similar things going on, so I'm excited to see future videos with Sven where you work through things.
My bird is sort of a one person bird in recovery, he was a one person bird for my dad’s, my family is so distant from him but he’s being more acceptive with friendly people lately. Did I watch this on Patreon few years ago? I remember watching this over and over back than
What is the awful beeping in their house? Whatever that is has to be heightening the parrot, its earsplitting as a human I can only imagine what it sounds like to a bird! Also I agree with Anshuman that the Good boys are probably unhelpful.
I kept thinking it was a smoke detector that SURELY must end any moment now...but it KEPT....NOT...ENDING. Maybe (hopefully?) it was just one of those technical video interference something or others that you couldn’t actually detect in person?
I agree, that beeping was giving ME anxiety! Birds must have been super freaked out by it. I know that Jamie and David like to not coddle birds, and want them to be resilient. But birds have sensitive hearing and that beeping was making them crazy, you could tell

Is it 'up up', 'hop up', or 'step up'? 🤣🤣
High energy indeed. I felt the chaos anxiety.
Yeah and there was some kind of high pitched beeping in their house the entire time of the video. That kind of noise probably drives birds crazy
