We had a great time with all 3 of you (and all the wonderful zoo critters, too!) so excited to keep up on the progress you continue to make with Cheyenne in the future and can't wait to see you all in person again sometime!
Hopefully for a free flight session in the desert🦜 Ed and Emily can teach you about the snakes to look out for in the desert And which snakes are harmless. And you can continue helping Emily with training Cheyenne.. It's a win-win all around
so when Cheyenne took off from the counter; because that was the desired behavior would you try to capture said behavior with a jackpot? do jackpots work with birds.
I love how she walks when she's on a flat surface. When she's in the air she's so beautiful and majestic but when she's walking around on the floor she looks like she got lost in the supermarket and is trying to find her mom 🤣
Parrots are way smarter than alligators. Alligators have more predictable behavior, with routine, positive reinforcement, and patience, you can get an alligator to do anything for you. With parrots, there could be a multitude of reasons why it won't do as you say, it could be your not using their favorite treats, or your equipment makes them uncomfortable, or it could be that they just don't like you.
It is wonderful to see how receptive you both are to changing what you've been doing/believing. Many would push back and want to be right but you are willing to learn and make a change! Thank you for being such an amazing example to us all!
Snake Discovery is working with other people and learning from them just as people learn from Snake Discovery! It would be hypocritical of them to not be humble about learning new information from others who are experts in their own field!
@@cleopad5 exactly!! Unfortunately there are plenty of others in this world who wouldn't do that~already loved them, but now it makes me extra grateful for Emily and Ed!
I admittedly have this problem. I'm training my dog and I'm supposed to keep him in the crate at night but I hate it. I have panic attacks when I can't feel him in my bed. I know that I'm ruining his sleep for myself, and I recognize it's wrong, but I'm honestly not willing to change yet
@@thegloriousdipshit4274 that's so tough! Especially in the middle of the night when everything seems so much worse....I watched the video BirdTricks made of their time with SD and you could see a flicker of uncertainty for Emily at times so everyone experiences the challenge of acceptance of trying something new. Anything you can do to ease yourself into it is good. Be forgiving of yourself~if you're determined to accomplish this training, you will! Best of luck!!
So happy you were able to get a professional teacher to come in, and they got to teach a class to the locals too!?? ABSOLUTELY LOVED the little class segment - it reminded me that most pet birds are SMALLER than Cheyenne :) How sweet is it that the bird expert man says Cheyenne really DOES prefer pets over treats, whereas most birds have the opposite, and their owners just WISH they did! That's high praise for your bond, from a real professional who has seen it all!
I cannot emphasize this enough……Cheyenne’s diet is THE most important part of this whole equation. A close second is consistency. I have experience with Bird Tricks and they are the best in the bird world. They are science based and that’s really important. Good luck, stick with it. You both will be better off and more important, Cheyenne will be happier and healthier.
I really like how Cheyenne proved his "theory" by keep going while she had the confidence by immediately taking of the next time the asked her to come from the counter. you can really tell she got more confident in her ability to fly/take off already.
lol i can FEEL their daughter's pain cause my mom used to bring me to work (she's a dentist and worked in a clinic and there was slides there) saying it'll be fun and it was pretty fun, but it gets so boring so easily and she got home at like 9 in the evening :')
I’m guessing that’s partially just due to her age. Their personal youtube has plenty of videos with their daughter enjoying training birds, and loving it. But this is a new place with a lot of cool stuff to see, and many new people she’s probably not comfortable with. 🤷🏻♂️
Was gunna say. Capri loves training her own birds, she’s actually known for cuddling birds and taking then to her bedroom to hang out. Don’t want anyone getting the wrong impression of her. She’s amazing and very bright, with a dry sense of humour.

Know someone with a bird. Its loves “escaping” its bird cage. It can lift the door with its beak and leg to leave. Then to show its triumph, it climbs on top of the cage and yell. Either that, or it REALLY wanted to try some fried fish we were eating. None was given to him since it has too many small bones and unsure how it stomach would tolerate fish.
These guys, if I had birds, I'd go to wherever they are for their training. I love how they explained the whys and whats. I use positive reinforcement/clicker training on my dogs. I have trained three of my own service dogs using this. I can't really click fast enough so I use "yes". It is always amazing to watch a dog figure out for themselves what I am looking for. And treat/reward motivation is so varied! My first SD, Joella, could care less about treats. I used small pieces of paper for a while and then we tried cheese. OMG, what a change. Mike would do anything for a bit of apple. And Quinn will do anything for, well, anything. Food is her fave but she's also a fan of paper. What is up with Rotties and paper? I used yes/treats as well to train my dogs. I cant stand tring to hold the leash, trets and clicker all at once. To much and my dog could cair less about the clicker. I also really wanted her to work more off my voice than anything else.
I tried the clicker with my cats, I even got the one that a plastic bit can slide out behind the metal to dampen the volume of the click, and they still would run all the way across the house to the other floor just to get away...turns out if I call two of them good girl and good boy nice and high and happy that's plenty of encouragement, and ear ruffles, jaw scratches, and scratches between the shoulder blades! Y'all, quadrupeds will love you if you scratch the areas they can't reach! Sternum, chest, shoulder blades, hips, lower back... When my timid, but giant, tuxedo gets too excited from all the petting he has to go grab his Kong Kickeroo and, "Give it hell!" He wraps his front legs around it, kicks repeatedly with his back feet, bites and shakes his head side to side until he's absolutely panting. If I ask him if he needs his kicker before he's absolutely ready to lose it he gets irritated, like I insulted him by asking! So rude! Lol.

This is one of my favorite videos on your channel! I've always respected both you and Birdtricks and it's a dream come true seeing a collab between your two channels!
I LOVE Bird Tricks! I knew them before Snake Discovery. They helped me with my Bird (who sadly passed away of old age). Go Cheyenne!
Watching BirdTricks do their thing was fascinating! It must take a ton of experience to know the strategies for each bird.
I can't be the only one that needs more Cheyenne content in my life
I've been watching you guys for years and remember the first flying video. I'm so glad that Cheyenne was able to take such great strides towards bird-dom! BirdTricks did an amazing job! Can't wait to see her journey continue!
I loved this collab! And Cheyenne looks so proud of herself ❤️❤️❤️
ive loved watchin BirdTricks channel, so seeing them show up to help you guys and hold a class was a welcome surprise!
its really satisfying seeing Cheyenne gaining confidence in her flying. i love seeing pet birds realize their potential. they always seem so happy afterwards.

Woww it’s crazy to see how much your channel has grown and how all the projects have been finished building I’m so happy for u guys!
The collab I didn’t realize I needed!!!! Two of my favorite channels ❤️
Jamie and Dave are great! It was good to see how much can change in training with just a couple of small adjustments
I actually squee’d when I saw Jamie post pictures with Capri at the zoo a few weeks ago! I’ve hoped for this collab since the first time I saw Cheyanne in a video. (Not because of anything she’s done, just because it would be awesome for two of my faves to work together)
Thank you for facilitating my youtube dreams 😊
Where did she post the pictures? I want to see Capri in the zoo!
I loved this! Absolutely fantastic video!
Plus, it was a video mostly about Cheyenne! We haven’t had one of these for a while and she is my favourite Snake Discovery animal. 🥰
oh wow, what an awesome collab, something i never even thought about or thought i'd see
I’m so glad they finally got in touch with bird tricks! So much good information

OHMGOODNESS...two of my favorite RUclipsrs coming together in one video!!! Love seeing Cheyenne becoming a bird!
Even though Snake Discovery is very experienced and knowledgeable they are never afraid to learn new things and that's the best attitude to take. Thanks guys!
so crazy, i was just watching your video of her flying in the zoo before the enclosures were built when this uploaded!
Don't mind admitting, I had tears in my eyes. Cheyenne, you done good girl! I'm so proud of you!!
I love that someone brought a budgie to the class!!

This had me grinning so much. Yay Cheyenne!
That was exciting. I loved this so much. She got to confident there at the end!
Hi! I just wanted to say I love your videos and you have inspired me to love reptiles. Since I have been watching you, I now have a bearded dragon, a tiger salamander, a ball python, and a leopard gecko. Thank you so much for the amazing content! I also now love isopods lol
I'm so glad to see Jamie and Dave finally at Snake Discovery! I wanted to mention this years ago when I first met the channel.
IM SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS VIDEO CHEYENNE IS MY FAVORITE AND I WATCH BIRDTRICKS
ED LOOKED so happy and proud of Cheyanne. Great job Cheyanne and Emily and ED this looks incredible and I hope the training goes so well
I didn't plan on crying when a bird took off from a counter, but here I am.
Good job Cheyenne! 💚
Very enjoyable to watch! Fun to see this older little feathered lady find motivation to challenge what’s been normal for her and learn new avenues! Bless you and Cheyenne - may she continue to discover new things under the safety of your love and encouragement! 🙏🏼💗🦜
She's 26 I think so maybe more like young adult in terms of macaw years. They can live to sixty
OooOoO I like this change of a video! Cheyenne is one of the first animals I saw when I first saw your channel (I think it was 3 years ago) I’m so glad she hold such a special place in your heart! Cheyenne is truly a special animal also can we talk about the colors?! I love the colors!
