Die casting would still require machining, so I'm not sure it'd make sense for their volumes. A two spindle turn-mill CNC with a bar feeder would definitely save a lot of time though, and go from like 4 operations to one. It's a bigger upfront capital cost, but it'd pay off pretty fast considering you can reduce operator count.
It's so thin they could be stamped out of a sheet by the hundreds! They're unnecessarily wasting huge amounts of time and money on the machining. But that's the ridiculous world of "high end audiophool" equipment for you.
When we consider half of the price for labor, $33 an hour, we get some 80 hours. Can't be ... these are just fancy, electrostatic technology, materials, etc.

У нас в середине 80-х отечественная промышленность выпускала наушники очень похожей конструкции, звук действительно был очень качественный. У меня они были. К сожалению, ничто не вечно, лет через 15 они полностью вышли из строя.

В 95-м мне их подарили, они тогда уже были старые, и около 2000-го пластмасса и хлорвинил разложились от воздействия кислорода, они просто рассыпались в труху. Там не было динамиков, а стояли мембраны с алюминиевым напылением и кольцевые магниты, прямо как в тех, что на ролике. Меня тогда качество звука поразило просто, ни до ни после я такого не встречал.
ТДС Амфитон. Номер не помню, то ли 5 то ли 7... На вторичном рынке можно найти. Да и гугл никто не отменял. Дизайн конечно не топ, но качество было на высоте.

It’s funny how I was waiting for the QC testing on a rig but they never show it, that’s the most important part. They should have a measurement rig to QC that the frequency response fall in an acceptable range and the tuning is right. I’m surprised that it wasn’t show. Also $3000 is a bit too much for such a simple design headphone, at this price Meze gives you a lot more for your money.

I guess this kind of factory has no problem to buy a QC rig at 10,000 usd or even more and these rig are easily to find. from what I saw from their processes of assembly,they do it with a very high precision and handmade so they have a QC rig but just did not show in this video.

多分FinalのD8000かな。なかなかまともに鳴らせない事で有名なやつです。
これを鳴らせる、というのはアンプの一つの基準らしいです。
何度か試聴はしましたが、好みでなかったので買いませんでした。
50万円程する高いヘッドホンも何種類か所有しましたが、高いから凄く良い訳でも無いです。
最終的には自分の好みに合うかどうかなので。
食い物と同じで、自分にとって美味しいかそうでないかです。
それを考えると20～30万円前後のヘッドホンは高級機でも数が出ているので、量産効果も考えると性能が比例するのかな、と思っています。
ハマる人にはハマる世界です。

ここまでのハイエンドまで来るとこれを鳴らせるアンプが基準に出てくる、つまり逆に言えば"鳴らせない"という概念が出てくるんですか……
普段使っているイヤホン、ヘッドホンが当たり前に鳴るから、アンプ等の環境によっては鳴らせないという事があるとは思いもしませんでした

そういうヘッドホンはめんどくさいですし妙に金が掛かります。
1本そんなのを持っていましたが、売ってしまいました。
今は28万円のSENNHEISERのHD820で満足しています。
それでも非常識価格なんですけどね。

まず最初に普通のD8000購入して、１年半くらいして、ある一定の音域でなんか振動版が接触してるようなバチバチって感じの雑音がしだして、 保証期間内で修理にだして検査してもらうと、異常なしですと言われて、そのあと何回かメールでやりとりして、 ５万円振り込みして、D8000proと交換となって、その交換品は保証無しで、そして交換品届いて、１年持たずに、 その交換品はＲ側の音が小さくなる症状がでて、で修理依頼したら、ハウジング内の振動系で不具合が発生しているので振動系の交換になるので修理費は12万円だそうです。耐久性は著しく低いようです。保証があっても、交換品があっという間に故障します。
D8000、D8000Pro、かなり多くの問題があるようだ。 clippingイシューは我が国でも有名で、私のD8000Proは左右のバランスが合いません。 右側のユニットの音がもう少し小さく、高音がもう少し低いです。 ヘッドホンの音質は素晴らしいですが、おっしゃるとおりQCが残念です。 それで、D8000Proを中古で販売して、他のヘッドホンに変えようかと思っています。
私が知っているヘッドホンコミュニティの他の人は、ProでClippingが発生してアフターサービスを送ったが、保証期間が過ぎて5ヶ月の期間と、310000¥を要求したそうです。
酷い・・・買わなくてよかったです。
ここまで凝ってるのに品質が中華以下とは全然笑えない。
音楽を聴くための道具に過ぎないのに、トラブルで道具に振り回されるのはイヤすぎる。
この辺の話って表に出てこないので貴重な情報です。ありがとうございます。
