Great informational video....I finally picked up a True Parrot cichlid at my local aquarium store I just haven't seen them around...I got really lucky to do so..
He’s a handsome fella....remember that some but not all hybrids of not only fish but other animals can still exist in nature with or without the help of humans....lovely severum too....just like that line from Jurassic Park “nature finds a way” 👍👍
Thank you - appreciate it! And yep, I just personally love Bala sharks so I have him as the one oddball in the tank. Overall does pretty well with bigger cichlids
Can you keep a true Parrot in a 450liter tank? Together with other cichlids like 3 severums and Some geo’s and 2 blue Acara’s or is this a no go? 😇 thanks in advance! Great vid again!
Hi how quickly did your true parrot grow? such a beautiful fish and tank. I have just ordered a true parrot at around 13cm and cannot wait. Any feeding recommendations would be appreciated.
Awesome video dude👍I’ve been offered a true parrot.Been wanting one for while but I’ve got 3 platinum parrots about two inch in the tank .Will the true parrot eat them please
Hello Ur fish looking great... I have a question that can I keep true parrot cichlid (8inches) in my vieja synspilum tank (variety from 5 inches to 8inches)?
Do you know what their growth rate is please? I've had one for about 10 months now and only seemed to have grown 2.5-3" (been in a 180g since i bought him). He's fed on bloodworm, crickets, pellets, veggies etc.
@@CichlidBros I've been keeping my discus at 80 degrees for almost a year now (I know that temp isnt recommended, but I've had success) and they've done great. Is 80 in your opinion too high for the parrot?
Hey guys. I have a 5x2x2 tank with a Red Shoulder Severum and Chocate cichlid as well as some Pleco's. Do you think a True Parrot would fit long term or will i need a size upgrade down the line? Thanks guys
Love these guys. Miss my guy. He was in a 215 with some Dambas. Loved how green they all looked together.
You and your brothers are awesome! I hope one day I can find a way for my brothers to enjoy this hobby.
Thank you!

What do you keep in with the true parrot? I’ve been offered one 😃
@@darrenleacher2343 I have chocolate cichlids.. macaw cichlids..and host of geophagus
wow ive never seen this parrot before. I had blood parrots when I was younger with a jack dempsey. They got along very well
Nice! Yeah, the True Parrot hasn't been very common over the years, but is (hopefully) becoming more prevalent
Just an idea : best American cichlids that stay at the top, middle, bottom of your fish tank (just because nobody else has done this)

Hello
Ur fish looking great...
I have a question that can I keep true parrot cichlid (8inches) in my vieja synspilum tank (variety from 5 inches to 8inches)?
Question is it still peaceful and doing good with all the other fish
These are quietly a great cichlid.
Agreed!

They seem to grow semi-quick. About middle of the road for south american cichlids
What's the growth rate?
Does this fish change genders throught its life
Wonderfull...
Would a true parrot do well with discus?
It might work, but I’d avoid it if you can. The higher temps discus need might be too much for the true parrot

Could you keep them with leopoldi angelfish?
It might work, but the true parrot could also bully angels

I think that could work! I wouldn’t add anything more after that, but it should work okay
sir, can i feed floating pellets to true parrots?
Yep, should be fine. I do occasionally
True parrot cichlid fish are now hard to find
