Drag racing can produce some of the craziest moments whether its huge wheelstands, insane saves, rough crashes, or even cars flying through the air, this sport is dangerous and the worst can happen in the blink of an eye. This video features some of the craziest action we caught in 2021 and we can say all the drivers walked away unharmed!!!!!!

If this is the drag strip in Wilksboro, nc it’s a shame Jr. Johnson didn’t buy it and build chicken houses down the 1/4 mile. Chicken poop on this track would be an improvement and surely save all these guys from destroying their cars on a regularly basis. Got to be the sorriest track on RUclips.

27 years ago when I started I had an old guy come up to me and gave me the wisest words I ever heard when it came to drag racing (phonetic for the nannies...)

Nearly every one of these torn up cars wouldn't be torn up had they saved it for another pass.

Nothing brings a tear to my eye more the watching a the competition come flying out of their car to check on a crashed racer if you can get stopped you should try to help imo often your the first person there wearing a fire suit

Just randomly came across this video. It is cool seeing Shady Side on here. Brings back memories of going with friends when I was younger and lived in Cherryville NC. Great video. I subscribed just for the nostalgia of the times at the track. Did they cut down the car that use to sit on top of the I Beam down at the end on the left side? There use to be a old Brag car on top of it. I think it was a Corvette. I could be wrong on that. Memory is the first to go they say.

All these smaller tracks in the south like Wilkesboro is legendary. Kind of like Shady Side in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, Greer Dragstrip in Greer, South Carolina, Paradise Dragstrip in Calhoun, Georgia. All great old tracks. If you've never gone to an event be sure to go.

Stock rear suspension fox bodies are dangerous if you get out of shape then suddenly lift.
I remember seeing that last race. Some girl filming I’m pretty sure broke her arm because she got hit with some scraps but also he was racing billy the lid I believe

Everyone that broke loose and lost control seemed to do it at the same point of both of those beat to death tracks. Maybe the owners ought to drop a dime into them and update them a bit? Nothing about them were nice or safe.
If you get out of it because you are loosing control, always get back in it to increase your chances of being on You Tube. Also, if you are losing control, lock up your brakes to void all steering inputs and again, increase your chances of being on You Tube. Stick with me for other You Tube attributes.
It blows me away how many people are driving vehicles of this caliber and don't realize that they're not getting any any traction!

I been racing 25+ years and I know in under a second when there's slip on any surface, at any speed, crazy these 1000hp cars on that non-prep just doing a burnout thru every gear till they crash like the wheelspin wasn't noticeable lol
So, how many people have to get squirrelly and wreck at the back end of the track before someone does something about the track prep? Racers shouldn't be suddenly losing traction at the last 1/3 of the track. I'm a little surprised that it wasn't shut down due to track surface issues. Who is managing that crazy, uphill track thing?

It seems that that downhill race track would be problematic if your car starts to get sideways just doesn't make sense to me to have a downhill drag strip?
It's not a downhill racetrack, it's a uphill braking zone/ runoff. Also known as an optical illusion.

I found it difficult to run straight.
Thunder Valley was about the only track I would take my car down. The rest were death traps that were run on a shoe string budget. Horrible if any track prep or safety. Looks like they are more concerned with pocketing money than anything else. Last wreck says it all!! Worse track I've ever seen!!! Miracle he walked away. Shut it down!!
