  • Experience is the most effective teacher! We went off-the-cuff with a day in the life video and captured a couple really good examples of dealing with unusual situations with the Nile monitor, reticulated python and custom cage construction. Our male 16 foot, 80 lb reticulated python felt just a little grumpy today which allows us to show a couple different handling methods. We also had an amazing idea with the Nile monitor enclosure so we can use it for the other animals as well but had an unexpected design failure that almost made for a really bad situation and requires some little re-engineering to ensure their safety moving forward. We look at some nice, calm Nile monitor behavior and a moment that displays the notorious Nile fight response. Our big male retic made us work for it today as well as he wasn't very keen on being messed with while the Asian water monitor was his usual, inquisitive friendly self.
