Welches von beiden das schönere technische Denkmal ist beantworte ich Ihnen ohne zu zögern. Was die Finanzierung des ÖPNV angeht, hilf Ihnen eine google-Suche flugs weiter.

I think the elevated monorail is still a public transport option for populated valley areas.

Yep. All stations as well as the whole track has been replaced. And now, to finish the full replacement, the wagons will be replaced too.
