    It’s malls like this that appear in my vaporwave dreams! I love 80s/90s aesthetics in malls and this one is no exception!! You actually want to hang out in a space like this, listening to the fountains and admiring the plants, letting the sun in the skylights bathe you in light.
    I will never understand why so many people prefer the bland malls of today they have no character or any kind of personality. We need to get to a point where society wants to hang out in spaces this grand again.

    Nothing better than a Doomie mall video on a friday afternoon. Soothing and sad at the same time like most nostalgia. Thanks for your work

    As a local this mall use to be so great. We had umbrellas on the ceiling of the food court with different platforms. You had music stores, book stores, even a two story carousal at one point. Now its just a shell of it self. The movie theater shut down not that long ago. The bookstores and movie/music stores all left. Just sad to see it the way it is now. Also we locals call it pecan as in like pecaun.

      @@JillTouchetI hope so, fingers crossed. Only problem is they've occasionally dumped malls they bought. Hope Spinoso is able to keep Pecanland Mall alive.

    I really like this mall and the stores in it. I would totally want to shop here. Doomie, I also agree with you, I think the mall can use a little more colour. I also like the geometry inside and outside along with the fountain. This is my favourite mall that you covered in the last month.😊💖

    With the demolition of Cortana Mall in 2021, Pecanland Mall is the largest remaining mall in the entire Louisiana, in terms of square footage.

    • @mikemancini313
      @mikemancini313 2 месяца назад +3

      Even larger than the Oakwood Mall, Mall of Louisiana, Lakeside Shopping Center, and Arcadia Mall? I had no idea.

      @@mikemancini313 yep. Pecanland's footprint is over 970K sq ft. The malls that you mentioned are in the 700-800K range. Alexandria's mall has the 2nd largest footprint.

    Got that Burlington Center vibe!
    Just needs the bird in the logo at the entrance and the elephant fountain. 😢😢😢

      You have to come down to Louisiana one day to film. I bet the pasta is really good at the JCPenne here.

    This mall has a really interesting look. It is like a cross between the former North Shore Square Mall and Alexandria Mall. Now I really need to visit this one. It is about 5 hours away from me.

      Was North Shore Square Mall located somewhere north of New Orleans, and north of Lake Pontchartrain? I thought that was in Hammond, LA, but don't remember the exact town that mall was in.
      Also wonder where Alexandria Mall is/was located.

      @BoratWanksta You are right about North Shore Square. It was roughly halfway between I-10 and Mandeville on the North Shore. Alexandria Mall is in Alexandria Louisiana.
