- Ashtabula Mall in its respective county of Ohio has slipped rather hard. However, it remains to be one of the more interesting mall with more interesting stores and other such tenants.

The fact that Sure Fire Group basically said "no u" and bought the mall back from Kohan was the greatest part of this story
The clothing store across from Bath & Body Works closed, they had been in the Mall since it opened relocating from a downtown store. I used to come up on Tuesdays to the 3 Brothers Creamery for 1st Responders and Veterans discount, you could get a hot dog, bag of chips, a beverage of your choice and 2 scoops of Ice Cream for $ 9.99.
Really enjoy your videos. Pretty soon malls are going to be like 1950s drugstores. Great memories but totally obsolete with little to no interest in them.
Aww yes the trashtabula mall. Has a few good stores left but the pulse in this mall is very weak. Theres a scary rundown movie theater located on rhe backside of rhe mall too, if you are looking for a reason to run away.
Wish they would put some modern entertainment/fun center in there like other malls have done with vacant stores. Hopefully one day.
Wonderful Video!!!! I really Like Fountain/ Waterfall!!!! F+L, Corey
I am beyond your ultimate number one fan I would beyond love to get to know you better Doomie.
Outsourcing. Smh. Thats worked out so well : (
Thanks and Keep em Rolling!
1st. Ohio malls have been hit especially hard. Sprint bought many of those Radio Shack stores when they were in bankruptcy. I bet that Radio Shack store isn't owned by Radio Shack. Probably another company that bought the name?
Any Radio Shack stores that are left today, are dealer stores. Meaning they pay whoever owns the Radio Shack name now, for the right to do business still using that name. The original company I think ceased to exist, after 2 bankruptcies.
10:34 don't forget B.Dalton or Crown Books
i do agree that while the mall is dark the light has some warmth to them . I believe thats because of the different variety of light fixtures they used instead of basic fixtures that are used in most malls. i especially like the round ones above the tables in the food court. plus i almost shed a tear when i saw radio shack.
I am still suprised this mall is even still open, although I have heard some very unfortunate news that RadioShack is moving out of the enclosed portion of the mall into the old Sears Auto Center of the former Super Kmart.
It has gotten worse. I need come back. I love the aesthetics inside this place.
WOW! I have not seen an active Radio Shack store since the 90s! They are completely gone here in Canada sadly.
Cool
Yeah, i live here, and the only reason why things keep getting so bad is because the people that live around here dont care about how bad it is, as well as the local governments that also do not care about anything but their own pocketbooks. Ashtabula county, in general, is a cesspool of crime, low income, low paying jobs, and crooked business owners and politicians. You name it, ashtabula county, and by extension, this entire country is in shambles.
Well done Doomie. Another great venture video.
Just so viewers know… (I know Doomie knows this, but just wanted to clarify) Radio Shack corporate stores are all gone. The Radio Shack locations still open are independent locations that are allowed to have the RS branding and some products along with specialty items side by side. This RS location in the video is really big into radio controlled and hobby items… along with RS items.
For another example, the RS here near Charleston is also a big independent car audio dealer.
You will not find the full range of RS items we knew decades ago… unfortunately.
Lots of people don’t know RS still “kinda” exists and they freak when I post pics of RS locations.
For this video I ate some cheese pizza from St. Viateur Pizza and I also had a mocha. This pizza place is surprisingly really good.😊🍕☕
That Radio Shack was amazing. Also loved the old school Bath and Body Works
@7:11: Holy Smokes! A Radio Shack!
FraudMor
I had this mall in my territory about 15 years ago. The food court still had an arcade and a few food options. Then the landscape company put in their rock displays and the food stores all closed.
This mall should have been a good location considering it is 90 minutes from Beachwood and 60 minutes from Millcreek… but if people have no money, it doesn’t matter… they’re only going to Walmart. 😢
I like that center space at 9:40. Also I like the rocks and the mini waterfall. I think this is by far the most unique looking Cafaro Mall that I've ever seen. Usually all their malls always look the same on the inside. This mall surprisingly doesn't.
