The uneven coloring is cute, giving faded well loved quilt instead of pristine showpiece and that is lovely, even ghibli-core 💞
Yes, I was thinking very cozy shabby chic! Just what a lil teapot should be! 🫖
hi Shellby, the leaking teapot is most likely from having a flat pour spout. when you trim the pieces, the very point of the spout, cut a little more away inside to give it an almost triangular shape pouring point. you could also give a slightly upturned tip as well. those transfers were a wonderful idea and a great changeup to the regular flower designs.
I actually love the way some of the hexagons are faded, like a much loved quilt made from sentimental fabrics ❤
If you’re going for a patchwork quilt look, you can try adding stitch lines between the hexagons to set them off.
i was thinking that too! the gold luster would be great for the stitch lines!
Painting one of those like a Ukrainian Easter egg would be really cool.
That would be beautiful!
I feel like this mould is perfect for an Alice in wonderland theme with her falling down the rabbit hole 😲
Could have the Cheshire Cat on top in the tree! Maybe the tea party and Mad Hatter around the middle, and the White Rabbit chasing a watch on a chain around the bottom? Not sure where to out Alice, but probably on the bottom with the rabbit, so she is always there :)
Before she added the tea cup, it reminded me of Winnie the Pooh's hunny pot.
I own a similar design of tea pot & cup set and it is Alice themed! It's a great match for this type of design ❤
Sadly, unless you can overcome the pouring and dripping issues, it’s rather useless. Things that look cute but are annoying and frustrating to use end up at the op shop.
I love them! It doesn't bother me that they don't sit together seamlessly. They are adorable!
You could do layers of a forest floor. The teacup with mushrooms, frogs, snails and moss, then the teapot with grasses and small flowers until you get taller flowers with a blue sky.the egg could be a cloud or a bud from a flower
The egg could also be the sun ☀
Love the quilt look. Couple of other idea's. For Easter a stack of Easter eggs. Maybe even the foil being ripped off one to show the chocolate. For Christmas a stack of bobbles.
If you did the lid like outer space and turned the egg into the moon, then have the teapot as the blue sky, and the teacup as the ground on earth (grass, flowers, etc) it could be a lot of fun!
Or even have the egg turned into a moon and do a sunset/sunrise ombre all the way down.
An idea - I would love to use the teapot/teacup combo as a planter! A few drainage holes in the teapot and the cup to catch the water overflow. No lid needed. And the pour wouldn't matter!
I LOVE the patchwork look. One of my favorite pieces you've made. ❤
They join each other willingly. Imperfection is a survival skill.
The hexagons made me think of a set with a little gold bee topper and honeycombs all over. Tea and honey 🫖🍯🐝
These are ADORABLE!! I LOVE the hexagon ones!!! I'm not even a tea drinker but would love one just for the aesthetic.
Absolutely! I think the hexagon design was really cute!
Oh! For the underground part of the teacup, you could make a mouse in a tunnel. Then the lid sky and teapot above ground could be a meadow with grass and flowers. So cute!
I love them all. Especially the jellyfish. Let's just say they are perfectly imperfect. They are beautiful.
You could do a Peter Rabbit/Beatrix Potter nod with a sky with birds, a garden and a bunny burrow. I'd love to see one like that!!!
That would be so cute!
I think they're gorgeous.
Its the imperfections that make them perfect!
You could do weather layers for the set. Sunny on top, rainy in the middle, snowy on the bottom.
Maybe painting the lid so it looks like a beach umbrella. The teapot body sand with sandcastles, beach balls, beach chairs, etc. And the cup be the water with or without fishes.
The hexagons are still reading as quilts, specifically well loved old quilts
The tissue transfer ones with the gold egg on top are SOOOOO precious!!! I love the blue handles. Just incredible!!
Use them as flower pots! Since the don’t pour well, or fit together well, they’re gorgeous and would be so so cute with succulents or little violas 🥰
I think the hexagons are perfect! I think it looked good with the spout matching the handle - so just patterns on the round surfaces. I vote for white handle and spout, blue hexagon transfers and gold egg. Very delft inspired.
Awww.
Adorable homey snuggly vibes of patchwork rugs.
I love them.. ❤😊
I really love the jellyfish tea pot
Had 2 set's of these teapot cup combo's. Loved them but they always leaked. I just learned to live with them. 😂
I love the transfer ones the random colors and patterns with the gold handle is adorable. I think they are perfect!
I absolutely loved the way the hexagon/quilt teapot came out!
Love this one. Rainbow colors or cow spots.
YAY JELLY FISH FRIENDS! THE LITTLE ONE IN THE CUP IS ADORABLE
I've missed seeing the entire process ❤ what a lovely project
Me too! It was really nice to make these again!! I am really excited for you all to see next weeks video too! It was so fun to create!
I love these! Adorable! I reckon some little gold accents on the transferred prints, maybe also the handles, would look delightful 💛
WOWQ! I'm in America (USA) and they look amazing from here. I love the patchwork look. And while the dark blue is a little overwhelming against the more pastel ones, it's alight. You could use all dark blue and make a delftware-like teapot. That would be lovely. You could also remove the egg handle and use one of your sweet little Auzzie animals as a knob. All kinds of possibilities with this one! Make a personal teapot to go along with your mushroom sets! How much fun will folks collecting those pieces be with something new to add?! Great job, Shelby! Fun video.
Great ideas! To me, the egg doesn't make much sense unless it's a chicken theme. Love the Aussie animal idea, or maybe a flower, like the little duck hats.
Love, love the hexagon ones! Adorable!!
I love the teapots! The hexagon design is lovely!
I LOVE the one you did with the tissue transfers! Almost feels vintage. And I am in America! 😁
What a beautiful idea to have that quilted patchwork look! Love the way they turned out! ❤
absolutly ADORE the hexi one, it remineds me of vintage lace. I instantly envisioned one of your fat little bee's to replace the egg and make a bee hive set ( I have a love affair with bee's.) BUT... I was shocked to see just how Retro/Fallout the teapot looked without the cup on the bottom. Like it needs a silver/gold bottom with that wild avacado/mandrine/maize pallet of the 50's with the matching metallic "atomic" star pattern. It was just something about that shape that hit differently. All in all, I love your finds, your style, and your vids. thank you for sharing with the world.
I cant unsee it! The boi on the jellyfish teapot looks like an olive!!😂 I love these sooo much. That gold POPS
The transfer teapots are so so beautiful, I love all the patterns together and the faded look. I think a whole tea set or plate set with that effect would be so beautiful
I think the possibilities are endless with this tea pot, just keep trying!
I love the orange and green patterns on the quilt one but I agree the dark blues should be on their own :)
I adore the hexagon transfer ones! They're so delicate and delightful! And the jellyfish were adorable! Something about sea creatures and sea-themed things are always a favorite. :) What a sweet little tea set!
The idea of a teapot with a complex quilted design is just Devine. It’s giving Liberty and Spode vibes. I love it❤. Mind you, I’m a stitcher and quilter, so ever so slightly biased. ❤❤❤😊 Ach, I don’t care they don’t fit exactly, it’s an incredibly fiddly job. Even the expensive “professional “ ones have a wee wobble.
I quite like the ones withe the transfer paper. They do look like an old quilt.
I love the transfer ones-they’re beautiful.
Love the transfers, the jelly fish were cute too😄
I was thinking it has a matching teacup! The patchwork ones are absolutely gorgeous and I WANT ONE!!!
As soon as you got the cup and put it with the tea pot, I thought to myself "what an perfect house warming gift for my daughter! 😍) As far as the pieces not lining up or the pot not pouring well, I think that they are still beautiful enough to sell. I'm sure many ppl, including my daughter, might enjoy just having it on display. And never forget, little imperfections are still beautiful and worthy of going to a forever home. Lol 🤗
Ps...You did not go wrong!! As an artist, you tried something new, and that's great!!! Your work is amazing, thank you for sharing your amazing talent! 🥰🇨🇦
I thought all the tea pots turned out pretty even with the imperfections. The uneven quilt one turned out so charming.
I love love love the hexagon tea pot. Reminds me a quilt my granny made me.
Love love love the quilt design. That's a must do again
Oh my goodness! The transfer hexagonal design reminds me so so much of a quilt my great-grandmother made, thank you for the unexpected memory!!
The teapot and cups with the inlay are fantastic. I love how they look like the pattern has worn off with age and use.
The tea pots are gorgeous, very vintage feel.
I lovve the imperfections. Makes them quirky and unique ❤
I think if you could somehow paint it to look like a chicken sitting on an egg would be amazing. Like the spout can be the beak and waddle, the handle could be the feathers and the top knob can be the comb.🐔🐔
I love tea-for-one pots!!! I have a selection that I rotate through. ❤ Well done!
Adding a hole into the lid will help with the pore. And on a selfish note, I prefer when there is enough of a gap between the lid & the pot for the chain of my tea infuser (that way I don't have to go hunting for my tea strainer).
Love your work & approach! 😊 Keep up the wonderfulness from a tea cup & Dangerfield addict!
So adorable!! Love the little teapot and cup set!
I love your idea of the house with an attic, home and basement!
I was thinking fairy home
I would buy a tea for one with this idea (attic, home and basement).
I FEAKIN LOVE THOSE TEAPOTS!!! especially the hexagon designs
Themes of three:
-Easter- Christ was dead three days; it could be cool to do like a Palm Sunday to Gethsamane to the empty tomb could be cool 🤔
-Howl’s Moving Castle;with like the hearth with Calcifer, Howl’s room, outside
- a carrot plant ; root underground to leafy tops , do carrots flower?
- a forest with like burrows and a tree leading up to a nest?
I think even just having little bunnies all over would be cute !
The quilted design is great, the fadedness makes it look like it's been worn over time which doesn't hurt at all.
I really really love the jellyfish teapot, so much fun. 🎉❤
As a teapot and mug collector I love love this piece❤
This would be a super fun piece for the Pottage! I'm picturing the cup being covered in dinosaur fossils, the pot being canyons, and the top being the sky! 🥰 so many fun possibilities!
Absolutely love the quilted tea sets!! ❤️
I love the quilted look! I don't drink tea, but I would absolutely get one of these! Beautiful!
the cup alone is a wonderful shape. i like the idea of having a single serve pot w/cup. cool
I like the look of the patchwork quilt ones with the gold egg.
This is such a super cute one! I'm so glad you got the matching cup to go with the teapot!
I love these! I like handmade not perfection. I enjoy your videos.
I am SO glad you got the cup as well! It needed it! ❤️ and I love jellyfish, haha
I love these! I love tea sets and my mom and daughter are always quilting!
All the pueces together also makes a big egg! Would really love a bright colors chicken design!
Looked great from America 😉
Hahaha I’m so happy, the perfect fitting teapot, just wait until you see it here in Australia!
I think you should look into the art of the teapot spout. A dribbling teapot drives me mad!! There has got to be a spout tutorial out there. I know the ones I have come across that work the best have fine sharp points on the spouts and are made of fine porcelain. I doubt this has helped you much, but don't give up on that tea set, it's adorable!
I love your dress!!
I LOVED the patchwork sets so much! The gold lustered knobs were a very special pop!
"It looks good from America" 😂 what a funny phrase.
If you do another ocean set, you could do layers of the ocean! The top as a shell on shallow water, the open ocean, then deep sea. The ones you made are so cute! I love the hexagons!
The Egg teapots are really cute, but before you got the cups for them I immediately had some ideas for different themes. You could swap the egg on the lid for a bee and paint the pot like a beehive. Or paint it like a cupcake and put a berry on the lid. A cute gnome/fairy themed set would be fun too, with an acorntop lid, maybe a wood pattern on the pot, a leaf or flower design for the cup...I think there is a lot of fun experimenting you could do with these moulds! ❤
I live on the west coast of Canada and I ❤❤❤ the jellyfish set.
I hope you do keep playing with these fitted pieces. I like the jellyfish one best of this group.
Love this so much. There must be some expert out there that knows why the shape and angle of the spout would cause drippage.. and if there was a way to remedy that flaw.. I'd love to see one with cats, and the top being a ball of yarn. Perhaps one covered with almost a ditzy print of baby chicks and the top being an egg, of course.. maybe a cracking one. Or a moon and sun on dark underglaze, in gold.. and the top "egg" being a star or sun with rays radiating down. So many ideas and what a cute mold! I can't wait to see other designs you make with this one...
This was really interesting... sometimes it's good to show how many factors go into getting a multi-part object perfect enough to sell (shrinkage, print matching, pouring etc). I was actually astounded that you want to continue with this - I feel that there would be about a 1/10 probability for everything to turn out right. It would make a final product not very time:cost effective. Great video!
You're gifted! I like your work and dedication on pottery ❤
I absolutely adore the tea pot!!! love the quilt look too!
They are so cool und cute. I love them.
The hexagons remind me of a quilting technique called English paper piecing.
I LOVE the patchwork one even as are
I love the under pattern transfer ones, you’re too hard on yourself, I think they look great 😍♥️.
I can’t wait to see more of these!
Another idea for the 3 "levels" would been to do an ombre or each layer in a different shade of a color
That would be lovely! Your idea also spurred me to think that you could do Pride flags that have three colors, like the Bi Pride flag that’s pink on top, purple in the middle, and blue on the bottom. The Pan flag is pink-yellow-blue. A regular rainbow flag could have two colors on each part.
Or you could do some country flag colors, like blue-white-red for France, or green-white-red for Italy. Not as intricate and artistic as I know you like to do, though, Shelby!
Googling, I see there is “spirited debate” about the Aussie flag. 😂 I think I like the “Tone Moore 2010” proposal for the new flag, that has a green portion on the upper left, the Southern Cross constellation in white on blue in the lower right, with a gold kangaroo dividing the two. Very attractive IMO. And could be much more fun to paint than plain colors!
I'm so glad you have both the teacup and teapot! It was hard for me to wait while watching the start of the video because as soon as I saw the indent on the teapot I knew it had a companion cup
Love that they fit together ❤❤❤❤
I LOVE the hexagon ones! They’re so so pretty
These are beautiful! They would be perfect to keep at an office desk!
My favourite ones are the transfer ones. Like so many have stated, they look very much like a much loved quilt. They're beautiful and perfect in their imperfection!
