I'm a 40-year-old Brazilian, study English for over 20 years and NEVER saw a teacher so connected with ESL students. Definitely the BEST ESL teacher I've ever seen in my whole life!
The program about the English pronunciation of our lovely teacher, Mrs. Rachel, is very helpful, useful, and effective. She can teach very heartedly and profoundly. I am our English teacher, Mrs. Rachel very thankful and I will never forget her excellent lessons on youtube.
Hi Rachel! I spent 5 years living and teaching ESL in Newark, NJ. The first -tn words I learned from natives were “Martin/Mountain Dew/Manhattan” just to take American Accent training myself later on before coming to my home country, Brazil. It’s been 17 years since then and I can’t thank you enough for such high-quality didactic services you kindly share with us, a true pronunciation savvy you are! My students enjoy each one of those knowledge-practice enriching vids, but that one Vicky collabed with you at the airport ranks high! Wish you all the best!
Rachel you are AMAZING! I am a consistent listener of All Ears English and as soon as I heard you speaking with Lindsay, I got CRAZY! Your videos have been helping me for some time now in addition to listening AEE podcast to enhance my listening comprehension. You told us in that episode, or in your own podcast (?), that you would continue teaching English as long as you could. Hope that you will never let us thread this path of learning alone. I would love to listen to your videos and pronunciation tips rather than rummaging through the internet to find some kind of resource to utilize as a means of understanding English in a solitary way. You have contributed to my American Accent a lot and I cannot thank you enough for that!!!!! YOU ARE PHENOMENAL!
Hi, Rachel. Just want you to know that I can't thank you enough for helping me with my English vocabulary and pronunciation. I've been watching your videos recently and all of them are great. Wish you my best.
I just wanted to tell you how much i appreciate all these videos they've seriously helped so much you have no idea, I've come such a long way and I'm starting to actually be proud of my pronunciation for the first time ever, seriously thank you your videos are so helpful
lf there's a person who's unveiled my understanding skills of American English, it's none other than you, sister. You are a teacher of your own kind and unique. I'm able to understand all American U-tubers. It's all because of you. Your lessons on U-tube keep crossing my mind when I watch English movies or U-tube channels. I wish I had come across you a year ago. Nevermind, it wasn't too late. I look forward to seeing your real life English conversation analysis. Thank you so much and God bless you.
You’re so good at explaining! Your idea of showing your own clothes it makes it more powerful than just showing pictures or flashcards! I started thinking of bringing my luggage to school when I’ve to teach my students about clothes vocabulary. Thanks a lot
You r amazing teacher...explained with vowels and consonants sounds, really very greatful to you..I try to learn from the video.. Thanks a lot. May for bless you..🙏
Very helpful. I remember first time I heard or read down jacket, I was wondering what on earth down had to do with jacket! 😀 You still can make another video with blouse, scarf, gloves, top, long johns, turtleneck, cardigan, water resistent/proof jacket, trench coat, leggings, tuxedo, mini skirt. Greetings from Brazil, Rachel!
Thanks for your teaching! You prepared a lot of clothes for teaching. I learned many new words. To be honest I couldn't call them in English before. Thanks so much!
What a wonderful class! I'm absolutely thrilled. Teacher Rachel, you are a genius and master of English Teaching. I've had more than 20 teachers all told..... I have to include you as one of the very best. Thank you so much for your efforts in improving our English.
First, let me say that you are amazing and your channel is fabulous! As a new teacher of English language for our local Votech school, you have been very helpful! But secondly, that’s not a tank top, that’s a camisole. Tank tops have about an inch wide straps at the top. Otherwise, my students have LOVED your videos! Thank you SO much for your work in this space!
You are a true teacher, sister. God bless you and your family. I was wondering if I could buy your video material meant for non native English speakers to develop their American accent.
Hello and thank you! Many of my materials are free online. However, I do have a book that can be purchased here: gumroad.com/l/pronunciation. And an online academy for students looking for more resources to work with and on as they improve their pronunciation. You can find more information about that here: www.rachelsenglishacademy.com/.
THANKS Rachel, I am learning a lot of vocabulary...this is the only way that I can pronounce the words in English. Could you please do more videos like this? some ideas...Office, office supplies, bathroom, more kitchen, garden, animals, I just want to learn more. Love you, you are the best!!!!!
Thank you for the video, just what was needed! But what about the word "tights"? Is it still used?😃 I used to use it for "hose" (totally new for me). It would also be great to get to know about shoe types in more detail. Greetings from Ukraine🇺🇦
I realize this comment is 3 years old, but thought I’d help for anyone reading this in the future. I’m a native English speaker and I would say hose for the item she showed, where they’re sheer and skin color. If they’re thicker and opaque, or brightly colored I would call them tights.
What an excellent pronunciation SKILLS you are teaching Madam! GOD gave you excellent knowledge in phonetics and phonology .No one can teach like you really.PLASE teach more vedioes on American pronunciation .
Teacher Rachel, I'm confused with " I can do the job and I can be doing the job". What's the difference between these two sentences? Can you give more examples to support your explanation, thank's.
Rachel will you make the video about the "ær" sound in the future? I was investigating a little and it sounds to me that the æ before r sounds more like ɛ.. I would say that the ær diphthong is not on the list of sounds and it should be.
In England we have some strange terms for clothes: A nice whistle (A nice suit). Get your togs on (Get your clothes on). Nice clobber (Nice clothes). I'm down to my last pair of skids (I'm down to my last pair of underpants).
Oh wow, I just saw for the first time 'socks' being written 'sox'. I didn't know that that's the American way to spell the word. You never stop learning :D
Hi, I'm Shabnam, I've started learning English recently, speaking is a big problem with me, very frustrating, your videos are really helpful. Thank you so much for getting involved so affectionately and with care. You are amazing ❤️
Ooh no. I can't pronounce panties without the "t", because I'm Brazilian and there's a similar word in Portuguese and it's so awkward and stranger if I speak it to other Brazilian 😂😂😂 The word in Portuguese is the intimate part of a man 😳
I really loved your video. I’m from Mexico and I am currently working in a retailer in America. I use all this vocabulary but I wasn’t sure about the pronunciation. Thank you so much!!

What is the difference between a sweater and a sweatshirt?
A sweater can have buttons and be like a jacket. While a sweatshirt is a single piece of clothing with long sleeves.
Congrats Rachel.
That's a professional work.
