Rest in peace beautiful soul he was one of my favorite singers in the world I went to his New York City apartment for saying goodbye outside when he passed away roughly 6 years ago 😮💨😭🤗😇😘😭
My husband and I had the wonderful good fortune to meet and have breakfast with David Bowie at the sound studio we worked at in the early 90s. It was an early morning and Bowie came to the studio to see someone, but we were the only ones there. I was about to go get some breakfast and asked him if he was hungry, and he was, so I got the best breakfast ever from Luther's, next to the Whiskey on Hollywood Blvd...and we chowed, read the Sunday papers and he was a wonderful, courteous person, with the fantastic dry English humor and my "favorite" person of all the stars and musicians whom we met in those years. He just really had mega watt star power, without doing anything, he just radiated some kind of aura, it was really amazing. I met a lot of big stars back then, but he was the only one who, without doing or saying anything, just knocked you flat, he just had ten times the charisma and charm of anyone else, so naturally, it wasn't an act, he was just that way.. It seems like just a couple of years ago, and impossible that he has been gone so long already. Most of the people we met up in the big leagues are gone, Prince, Michael Jackson, there was a moment when everyone seemed to be recording at once, and the LA studios were full of artists who did a lot of visiting from one to another, anything, it seemed, to avoid working on their own projects, the intense pressure for hit records really unnerved even the calmest artist, and drugs were everywhere, especially cocaine back then...prince was the guy who never, ever stopped working, he wore out assistants so fast, he just worked all the time, he couldn't stop ideas from bugging him, and he always dressed in stage clothes with high, high heeled boots, no matter what. I realized why when I saw him in person for the first time, he was tiny!!
Wow! That's great, what a cool job you had! I love both Bowie and Prince, who I always thought had a lot of similar artistic traits (both were androgynous and musically experimental). I had the opportunity to attend a soundcheck before a Prince concert in '02. He passed us when he came up the aisle to join his band onstage and I couldn't stop staring at him. He was so tiny, even in his high heels! Lol
I was privileged to see this awesome talent on tour Serious Moonlight tour in Toronto. No one was like DAVID BOWIE…Let’s Dance.🇨🇦 May he Rest In Peace.
I raised three girls as a single dad. My oldest called me that Sunday morning (I think it was Sunday) and exclaimed "Dad, David Bowie died!" It was hard to believe. I have every thing he ever did. Over 40 albums. I'm a fan since 71. Sure was bad news. All of us who loved him miss him and i would bet he would have had another album out by now. Black Star wouldn't have been the end.
@@TheOnlyOneStanding8079 Do you have any of his early work? Back in the day I was listening to Led Zeppelin and Hendrix one minute then Bowie's "Images 66/67" album the next. I love those early songs as well as everything up to Black Star.
@@wildbill5670 I discovered Bowie during the 80s when MTV was available but I've heard of Bowie in the 70s when I was a kid like around 1978 I guess when he was on SNL and sang the song the Man who sold the world I think that's the name ...I'm 52 yrs old btw ....No I don't have his early work
Ive been a fan since 1972 John I'm only Dancing. Love the end of that song, it's unique. Got loads of his music. Everyone knew what to get me for presents. My cousin rang me really early in the morning to tell me David Bowie had died. Like you I couldn't believe it. Played his music for weeks.🌹🦋💕
Originally born just over 2 miles from me in Brixton,South London and then moved, like I did, out around 10 miles away to Beckenham,S E London, again just a few miles from me.
I wish this explained what or how much someone could have made by purchasing those bonds. I also remember when David Bowie was a bank. I clicked thinking this would talk about those things more in-depth...
On a different video Oman told us who he was. I'm not watching anything else. She spoke and from her mouth she told us he was a great man. That's all I need to know.
I was shocked to find we shared a royal ancestor but after a thorough investigation, Hannah Crabtree-Lyon was not some king’s bastard child. She became a widow of a Lyon before she married Edward Smyth during the American Revolution. She was a DAR. I think some someone was just embellishing BS to prop up Bowie. Maybe he was the descendant of a King’s bastard, but it wasn’t my ancestor. I have royal ancestors from Prussia, Ireland, Scotland, and none were bastards.
Pioneer of music & art in the music & art world 🌎 really missed like a family member part of 70s exciting exploring times live & let live nature of arts .
Why should she get anything? She didn’t raise their son, abused drugs with him, which was more than likely the reason they divorced (toxic marriage environment) and was not married to him at the time of his death. If he gave her something that’s generosity not an obligation.
42 years, literally freaking FOURTY TWO YEARS? For a disgustingly wealthy, world famous musician of Bowie's success? Sorry, but in all honesty, that's just a slap in the face for a lifetime commitment to taking care of probably more than we could ever imagine. Two million, ugh. 😢
What's your favorite David Bowie song?
Not going to tell you. Go away and do some real work instead of leaching off other people.
I'm afraid of Americans

look back in anger, blackstar, golden years, that song he wrote for and performed in labyrinth (where the muppet trolls are tossing the baby around)
Starman
The world inherited his wealth. His wealth is his music.
Jeffrey English Beautifully put.....lovely.
Perfectly stated.
Nope he was really rich
He was traded on the stock market
I really miss David Bowie, such a beautiful voice.
u dont miss shit
He is still alive under the alias Jack Steven
I'm still not over the loss of him
Me neither. This man had an awesome impact in my musical life since his very debut. R.I.P. genius man.
I miss him still. He was super awesome
Bowie is truly missed. A huge gap in music is now present

David was the best. Voice creativity. Humor. Mind blowing videos. Love David Bowie Jones. Your work will always live with us. Rip

Saw David Bowie perform years ago in Hollywood when he was with Tin Machine 🥰 Iman was there 😊
I loved him in Labyrinth, great movie
A fortune of $231million OR a SLIGHTLY SMALLER fortune of $100 million? Glad you're not my accountant!
I really miss david 😥😢😭
The 1970s bowie was the best era of bowies music.

I wish I would've gotten into him earlier. He's quite fascinating.
God bless 🙏🙏 him and his beloved family ❤️❤️❤️ sadly 🙏❤️ missed!
So, basically he left it to his family.
we can be heroes just one for day !🙋 from France .
So basically his kids and wife got it. Shocker.
It's terrible that he came away with so little considering his volume of work and impact.
Brilliant man!! Lucky to see him live!!!
Very respectable video.
I was at my home when I found out the awful tragic sad news about beautiful David's passing I was so devestated

God bless his soul
Bowie was definitely worth more than $231 million. There are probably some trust funds in Switzerland that weren’t publicly disclosed
Who cares !?

I got to see David Bowie open for Nine Inche Nails back in the day.

Strange that they couldn't find a liver donor ?
Even after he shared that bottle of Chianti with Dr. Hannibal Lecter? Shame.☠

Such a genius
You set the bar pretty low for a "genius." Einstein was a genius.
Have a happy journey.
Iman was a pretty good actress too. Nice Will - David seems he did the anti Phillip Seymour Hoffman thing. Congrats.
David Bowie is my favorite artist an of course my favorite song is I'm afraid of Americans!❤⚡R.I.P David you are deeply missed!
Loved him thanks to my aunt I Know GREAT Music
Fun Fact. Bowie had two different colored eyes due to a schoolyard punch to the face
I have neither children nor money. If I had both, I would leave my kids very little. I would want them to be hard workers and not be spoiled.
love his stuff but not since 1990? Recommendtions?
The Heathen' and 'The Next Day' albums are very good... :)
I love Bowie's work and the movie Labyrinth...The Goblin King was very much like Bowie's alter ego it seems like...
Duncan? I thought his son's name was Zowie

Liver cancer = tons of coke snorted over the years.
Sad that he didn't get his wish for the cremation in Bali!

He’s not dead
He's cruising with Elvis in his Cadillac
Loft
Classic Individuals
Yes now there flogging it all off wonder big surprise there…. Wonder what David would have thought of that?
He died of pancreatic cancer 🦀 if he had liver cancer that is treated in the finalaliy by transplant he would have payed privately as he was not ...
Poor taste. It was Bowie's money. He could leave it to whomever he chose.
What are you talking about? Very odd
I think david liked Gail ann Dorsey but I didnt leave anything to her
He didnt leave anything to her
Nothing to Gayle Anne Dorsey?
