    Hi Jane , thanks for the video; feel less alone cause I learn 25/2 too and I get exactly there at the same point so I can manage the whole piece with control and eveness of touch like you... But from there to the final tempo around 224bpm (or 112 bpm.for a 6notes pulse?) , it seems so far to me (almost pretty impossible to execute clearly but I.will try). So whats the next step ? A metronome progressive work ? How long to go from here to 224?

      My tutorial titled "How to Practice (Piano) When We Keep Stumbling over the Same Part" illustrates how to use to metronome to gradually reach tempo. It is a matter of practice, and patience.

    does it have to played that slow to learn it effectively? It's hard to hear the melody if it's this slow. When I am practising it, i need to play a bit faster, of course not up to speed.

    • @janepianotutorials
      @janepianotutorials  4 года назад

      Of course not 😊. This is slow to make it easy to check notes or compare fingering. When you practice, force yourself to obey a metronome. Set it to your competent speed. Then increase by 1 or 2 bpm upon each repeat.

      @@janepianotutorials ok, will give it a try that way. This piece needs such fluidity, will see if I manage. I find my hand gets tired easily and my hand positioning is lacking because of this. How long should it take to learn this? It is one of the easier etudes as far as I know.

    • @janepianotutorials

      peter maguire Chopin Etudes are considered advanced pieces. It depends how regularly and how long one practices. Everyone finishes at different paces. For my former self, my guess is about a month of 30 minute practice sessions per day to reach 70% proficiency. To save time, concentrate on practicing the parts that trip. Is this really one of the easier etudes? My teacher assigned the Revolutionary first, that was in my 3rd year.

      Practice a line at a time before putting it all together at the end. Set a metronome to your competent speed (both hands, no mistakes). Upon each repeat, tick the metronome up 1bpm. Repeat. Guaranteed to work. Takes patience and determination! You can do it ! 😊

    you play wrong
    If you want to improve play the start of every triplet with sf because you are really in the wrong direction.
    this piece is actually much more difficult than it seems.
    the notes may fall together but the left hand fall at the weak note of every system and so its very confusing.
    if you want to play chopin i suggest you try hard to improve it.

      Hi, do you know some exercises to practice this piece in the right way?

    • @ΜαριαΔρακοντου-κ2β
      @ΜαριαΔρακοντου-κ2β 3 года назад +1

      @@nurlybekmardanov5486 I will try to explain this verbally. You have triplets of 8ths in the right hand and triplets of 4ths in the left. The triplets start together but the second note of the left hand falls with the last note of the right hand which is a weak note. Afterwords, the second note of the second triplet of the right hands falls with the last note of the first triplet of the left hand. This creates a confusion, because the strong and weak notes don't go together, so, most pianists, play it like the right hand has simple 8ths with one strong and one weak when actually has one stong with two weaks. To avoid making this mistake you must accent the first note of every triplet, first the right hand alone and then when you are sure you know how it sounds, you add the second hand. When you reach this I suggest to use a metronome that counts the start of the triplets in the right hand. Another tip you can use to get used to this asymmetry, is to change your pedal in the start of enery triplet of the right hand. With the metronome counting right triplets, your left hand will propably fall in the wrong place but you must always fix it and remember the correct way. This exercices are only so you can listen the difference int the rhythm in both hands. If you use it in your interpretation it will not sound nice, so when you are accustomed with the rhythm, you try to make it sound normal, without the unnatural pedal and the accents. What actually helped me dealing with the most asymmetries is that, I didn't plan when the notes would fall but stayed focus one the strong note of every triplet and let the other notes fall on their own because I was certain of how its motive sounds. Generally, play the strong of every motive and the weak notes will come on their own.
      I'm really intrested to learn if you understand it and if it worked. If it didn't and you have questions, I will gladly answer them because it is a difficult piece and I also struggled with it so I understand.
