I love long form; it helps me destress from the day and hear about something lighthearted and easy instead of all the bad news around us. Interesting point about profitability; I just assumed that many couldn’t afford it anymore due to inflation, interest rates, and being “priced out” of luxury. 🤷🏽♀️
I love long form, too! It's nice to just have videos playing in the background while I unwind or do chores. Scrolling short form platforms gets tiring (hello carpal tunnel!). It could be true that the recession and being priced out may leave a sour taste in some creators' mouths, but that is only if your channel only focuses on buying and keeping up with the newest it item. There is so much to speak on in the world of luxury!
You are one the few youtubers that I would be really sad if they left. I enjoy the intellectual content you offer as much as the unboxings. Even if don't post for a while I will still tune back in when you do.

I don't think this is the "end" of luxury youtube, but I do think their own analysis of cost vs benefit made no business sense for them and many youtubers in general (not just the luxury community). You can tell when something is about to end, you can see it in their eyes, that they aren't excited anymore, it's becoming a chore, they begin to slow down content, and everything slowly progresses into a natural "end". That said, I can't wait for your next Chanel sale haul ❤
This is an excellent observation! And yes, that dopamine rush from luxury, if stimulated too often and too quickly, doesn't hit the same after a while (as with all things that stimulate our brain this way). Oh boy, sale! Let's see if they continue doing them in Canada! I know the US limited it to 5 boutiques across the country! Will be excited to share if I pick up anything!

People just get tired of buying luxuries (authentic) or even dupes. When the euphoria of owning these bags wears off.. then they become just another bag and no more a go to bag or bag they want to reach out to anymore. Things are just things and they amount to nothing other than just functional purpose of holding your personal items. Sure we do enjoy the craftsmanship and quality of the work of artisans which most of us cannot afford. However for me, I prefer to get a quality bag low profile pieces which sustain me for a long time than buying endless bags due the hypes. Also do not get so side tracked by social media. We get so sucked up by social media till we lose sight of humanity which really that matters. Life is short. Do not waste our time over such frivolous things chasing after another IT bag. Do reach out to your family and friends and touch their lives by be a blessing to them. Spend time with someone, an elderly who is lonely or even enjoy long walk and appreciating the dawn or dusk of each day which cost nothing. Be thankful to God with what we have and not we don't . Celebrate life.

Anytime! It makes sense for full time creators who rely on this to earn a living to evolve and focus on more lucrative avenues. But that doesn't mean it's over for everyone.
I do think for the most part big luxury logos are dying off in first world areas the corporations are focusing more on China, India, and Africa etc and how the economy is so bad in first world countries plays a big part in this whole making a profit but I’m glad it’s slowed down. Those big logos were going lightening speed of in your face logos all the time. I enjoy quite luxury and slow fashion niche Chanels and just majorly slowing down. Our societies have been going so fast for so long it is nice to take things slow and enjoy things and buy what you really like 💕
That’s a great take. Perhaps a slow down was necessary. Focusing on simple classics that will have more longevity. It’s a classic vibe that is now more welcome as a refreshing change. We just gotta take the classist attitude away from it!
I tried Tiktok...dont like it and ended up deleting it. It takes a while of scrolling to find anything decent. With Reels and Shorts, I get better short content anyway from people I already follow. The video quality stinks compared to the production value and editing that I see on RUclips. Both forms have their place but RUclips isnt going to go away any time soon.
Exactly, RUclips is a very different platform from these short form platforms. Just like podcasts. They all have their own merits and use. I find RUclips will get you a more refined audience as opposed to TikTok where it's just a large number of followers that aren't as engaging.

Thank you for your honest POV! There will always be space for luxury and long form video. I would not purchase a luxury item from a 15 second video. Like every business, products need to evolve. A lot of the You Tubers that are leaving are just not that relevant- many focus only on handbags and only on Chanel, LV and Hermes. It's very limiting and quite frankly tired. Most of them don't have great style, they just buy expensive bags. Handbags is only one element of luxury, there is a lack of content on jewelry, shoes, ready to wear, general styling, travel etc. I need to really search for luxury content outside of handbags. It's a great opportunity to hear from fresh faces with current perspectives beyond 3 handbag labels.

People are struggling for content and sharing the same things over and over. I watch unboxings and reviews mostly and they will always be my go to. Can’t be done with the click bait ones now
True, if your channel is mainly unboxings, then it isn't sustainable (unless you constantly buy and sell). There are way more discussions concerning luxury that are compelling. Also, the audience who can typically afford this sort of thing is most likely mature and would be interested in other discussions about life that would be relevant to them.
@@therealshakeen lots and lots of you tubers have been going for years with unboxings and comparisons etc. it’s sustainable if you have the income and like you say if you rotate which many fashion followers do. Quiet luxury is the word this months and I have seen 20 new videos all doing the same story. A couple months ago everyone was talking minimalistic. The problem is people what to put content out weeks or 2 times a week now rather than just doing it when they has something worthwhile. People see some making a wage from it and try to follow suit. Aside one or two you tubers most of my watching is from searching for from subscribing .

Thank you 😊 People have increasingly lost their patience after their brains have been conditioned by scrolling short form content! It's also information overload and anxiety inducing!
I personally was feeling the anxiety with tiktok and so i decided to delete the app off my phon and I feel so much more relaxed

That’s the whole point of it all anyways .. to get away from all the work anxiety of real life … so if im gonna scroll through short form content on tiktok thats gonna make me even more anxious bc of info overload , then im all set .. i love long form content .. its more peaceful! @therealshakeen I totally agree with everything you said about being a luxury youtuber at the beginning - I feel the same way - I have no intent to leave either as I also just started - It's so hard to start back when you fall off - so true - happens to me too - life/work get's busy - and same i film alot and then get behind on editing and then post dated content too! HAHA TWINNING!!! lolol
