I will never forget a lady i befriended on how she was in love with her boyfriend and was both emotionally and physically abusive. She asked me what she should do concerning the issue, before i could say anything she quickly told me that many have told her to leave but she won't leave because she loves him. My heart broke in pieces for her, that she wasn't ready to let go of the reality she was facing that he'd never change. I simply told her that if she sees within the next 3 months he's treating her that way that's her answer and for her to decide what to do.
