I’m American. I grew up watching Harry Potter movies. I didn’t think anything of Padma’s and Parvati’s gowns. Yet this comment section, I agree that they should have gotten better. I guess they didn’t want anyone to forget them as Indians via their outfits. I looked up lehengas from the comments here mentioning it and wow yeah lehengas look more formal gowns than an average day look. Maybe in the Harry Potter reboot or TV series they can correct it somewhat so they would look dressed up at the ball than not. I get it Hermione was supposed to be the most stunning there. But to do that they would have to dress down the rest of the females and that would have looked very weird!
