Why would the money and cost be an issue if they’re juicing up random babies anyways it’s gonna cost the same amount wether it’s a super baby or a super man given it’s the same stuff so surely the cost wouldn’t be a real problem given they can give it to anyone if they’re giving it to randomly selected babies then clearly the cost of it can’t be too terrible or there would only be a handful of supes
They aren't "juicing up random babies" with the same V, this is explained in the comics. The power of the Supe is dependent on the concentration of the V that's given. The pure stuff is worth billions but most Supes get a greatly diluted version. The Seven are the exception.
@@nicholascoob1350 that makes sense yeah. But surely they’re using the same amount altogether just spread out wouldn’t it make more sense to give specially selected individuals and babies and stuff the more concentrated version so there’s more proper superheroes like the seven rather than diluting it and spreading it to hundreds of thousand because either way the same amount is being used. If I was the head personally I’d just use the amount they’re pumping into the random babies with the diluted stuff and just take special individuals and pump them with the stronger stuff so you have more proper proper supes. Granted it’s a show and comic so logic wouldn’t make sense but idk just makes sense to pump powerful people with the more powerful version of the drug seen as they want more people like the seven. It’s better for business. Although the weaker supes act sort of like villains in a way I suppose without super villains there’s no need for super heroes I suppose
@@joshuamoss9409 Because then it'll seem like the supes are chemically made. They want the public to think they are born that way for numerous reasons (marketing, keeping compound v a secret etc).
This is it though. There will be research journals. Basically it doesn't matter if you don't have the initial researcher anymore once the formula was developed. There will also he lab assistants.
I think another reason is how volatile homelander is. In both iterations he’s incredibly unstable and vought is constantly cleaning up his messes. There’s no way they’d make another homelander considering how hard someone like him is to control. In the comics they made a whole clone of him just as a failsafe and that ended up turning out worse for everyone.
Powers were so underutilized in both rhe comics and show mostly due to the complete lack of combat training but the right team of supes couldve taken out homelander. Mindstorm being among them, the entire reason that soldier boy was defeated in the show.
It's also a huge risk, like that woman (forgot her name) said, they had nothing to *force* Homelander to comply, they relied on nothing but his desire for love. Imagine if they tried making another Homelander but this one didn't care for love
It’s definitely too dangerous. Homelander is too unstable, both him and his clone. They could probably crate an army, but that army would inevitably kill everyone
To be honest homelander just feels like the time vought accidentally (almost) got it right. He's their flagship product, the one they were closest to having perfect.
They did make another Homelander. Noir was a Homelander. Homelander is kind of like the Tsar Bomba. You make a thing and then you make a stronger version of that thing and then a stronger version of that thing until eventually you say okay that’s enough.
19 billion is not the cost per vial/dose, it's the cost of creating Compound V in general (R&D, basically). The product itself is probably in low six digits per dose (at least net/production value), and even that is more due to it being a proprietary patented chemical that may only be manufactured under extremely strict supervision.
Not only that, but Homelander is already pretty difficult for Vought to control. Add in another 20 supes all just as strong as Homelander and you risk some of them turning against you. Besides, Homelander is only weak compared to similar archetypes from comics (ie Superman, Sentry, Omniman, etc) because he doesn't have experience fighting opponents who are actually powerful. Whichever one comes out on top (and they will fight because this is The Boys we're talking about) will be a much bigger threat.
Lol for the show the main reason why is after the homelander takes over he dont want more hero that are more powefyll then him. And before the take over they properly spend more money cleaning up after him, man the cost for the pr department must be over billion dollar per year
9:34 funny thing is that Magmatron is the only character whose Beast Mode is the least seen because it’s hard to operate as three dinosaurs separately and the dinosaur chimera isn’t good for combat
Also I believe having one superhero who is so powerful and iconic is generally more marketable for them. When you have a limited supply of powerful and iconic superheroes, the demand for them is higher
They also should’ve given the reason was they realised a supe with Homelander’s power was a threat to humanity. Upon reflection, their hubris led to them creating a great mistake
Likely a laboratory filled with failed “heroes” more specimens that could be a long standing threat that has yet to be unleashed. That would really terrify homelander seeing versions of different versions of himself a window into what he might become with time.
Because Homelander. That's why. You make a supe like Homelander, YOU GET A SUPE LIKE HOMELANDER. Long story short: do you want a Viltrumite empire on Earth? Because that's how you get a Viltrumite empire on Earth.
This is the man who came back to base. A train and starlight were arguing because a train tried to gRape her and in the mist of her explaining it to homelander what happened. He threw and exploded a jet out of pure innocence and frustration. Tax payers lost
Seeing as the first thing baby homelander did was kill people with his laser eyes I wouldn't wanna have to deal with losing employees over shit like that
maybe this only applies to the Amazon Series but I believe they mention a fee times that Compound V cannot give someone a specific power of their choosing. it's a game of chance
That's because everybody reacts to V differently giving them different powers. They can't control what power it'll give to somebody. That's why some supes have good powers while others are ridiculously outmatched
I don't think anyone who knows the story would even ask this. The company and everyone else is terrified of him and would kill him if they could. No way they would want to make another one.
Why would they even want that? They're in it for money and real power. In both the comics and the show. Superheros are only used as an image to sell compound V and to gain influence in the military ect. They are not interested in taking over the world by force. Stan Edgar and James Stillwell hates the supes and view them as a mistake..they wouldn't want more Homelanders. (Apart from that one time, pretty specific reason tho)
Idk much about the comics, but i think the main reasons in the show would be 1. V is a weird drug, and creating something like homelander would take a whole lot of effort 2. CREATING SOMETHING LIKE HOMELANDER IS A BAD IDEA
I think a big reason is number 3: keeping a leash on one Homelander is hard enough, and for once, the evil corporation has decided to err on the side of caution.
I realize this is a comic, but even if it were priced that high, we would simply just add it to the national debt because of how important it would be to national security. A real life Homelander can theoretically destroy nuclear facilities, disarm bombs, he can establish world order in a month. We would just eat whatever the cost is and not even think twice about it.
Well homelander wasn’t v’d up when he was little, since he was soldier boys kid he already had the powers so they could’ve just done that again with other supes, Ryan’s gonna be like homelander, maybe even stronger when he grows up
Basically cost But i raise you this Why? Why would you need more than 1 homelander If you think he's under control even there's still no point to it, there are diminishing returns to having a homelander
Small correction: 19 billion is the cost of samples used by The Boys. Supes use a different formula and it's price is unclear
Pretty sure that’s a lie vogelbaum told them so they wouldn’t make an entire army
And 19 billion is the retail price
that makes the cost for the compound, and by extension powerful supes, even more expensive in my opinion

Black Noir was created by Vought to be better than Homelander for replacement or something. I don't remember. Something similar like that.
19 billion is not the cost per vial/dose, it's the cost of creating Compound V in general (R&D, basically). The product itself is probably in low six digits per dose (at least net/production value), and even that is more due to it being a proprietary patented chemical that may only be manufactured under extremely strict supervision.
Homelanders ego couldnt handle it
Not only that, but Homelander is already pretty difficult for Vought to control.
This feels like one of those self answering questions. Read a single issue and you sort of get it. Don't want two of those things flying around.
Honestly, thought it was going to be that homelands was preventing them from doing so, but this Honestly makes more sense.
Him being a fraction stronger than every supe is debatable like Stormfront or queen maeve
This is the man who came back to base. A train and starlight were arguing because a train tried to gRape her and in the mist of her explaining it to homelander what happened. He threw and exploded a jet out of pure innocence and frustration. Tax payers lost
Seeing as the first thing baby homelander did was kill people with his laser eyes I wouldn't wanna have to deal with losing employees over shit like that
I can never see black noir the same again
maybe this only applies to the Amazon Series but I believe they mention a fee times that Compound V cannot give someone a specific power of their choosing. it's a game of chance
Vought only created Supes for marketable reasons. They were never ACTUALLY created to be heroes, but to put on a smile and give them profit.
It would've been cheap if Mallory dodnt make it this expensive. He wanted it to be expensive 👍🏻
The strongest soup 🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That's because everybody reacts to V differently giving them different powers. They can't control what power it'll give to somebody. That's why some supes have good powers while others are ridiculously outmatched
You'd think it was also so they wouldn't have to worry about them going crazy and trying to take over.
There was literally made a supe like Homelander, as in exactly like him, his clone to be exact and it turned out absolutely diabolically great
In the show it said its 2m for temporary v 8m for permanent
Cause homelander worked out so well in the end we need more
Thats a good reason. I never realized till now that Marvel and DC never acknowledge the cost of making superheroes.
I don't think anyone who knows the story would even ask this. The company and everyone else is terrified of him and would kill him if they could. No way they would want to make another one.
They did make more Homelanders and this time ones that they could “control”
"There are 2 reasons for this"
Yeah common and sense
One's a crowd!
if only we got to see the laser baby grow up
Another reminder that while homelander is as evil as they come, billy butcher isn’t exactly good himself
They needed a pecking order
Idk much about the comics, but i think the main reasons in the show would be
1. V is a weird drug, and creating something like homelander would take a whole lot of effort
2. CREATING SOMETHING LIKE HOMELANDER IS A BAD IDEA
reason:
they can not, homelander is boundless
I think a big reason is number 3: keeping a leash on one Homelander is hard enough, and for once, the evil corporation has decided to err on the side of caution.
Also, the fact that it's already extremely hard to control one homelander, they couldn't handle more like him
I realize this is a comic, but even if it were priced that high, we would simply just add it to the national debt because of how important it would be to national security.
A real life Homelander can theoretically destroy nuclear facilities, disarm bombs, he can establish world order in a month. We would just eat whatever the cost is and not even think twice about it.
“Because the first time went SO well” didn’t it?”
Stan Edgar : "you're bad product". So of course they will not make another.
Well homelander wasn’t v’d up when he was little, since he was soldier boys kid he already had the powers so they could’ve just done that again with other supes, Ryan’s gonna be like homelander, maybe even stronger when he grows up
A-Train has one expensive hobby.
Basically cost
But i raise you this
Why? Why would you need more than 1 homelander
If you think he's under control even there's still no point to it, there are diminishing returns to having a homelander
They did.. In the comics Black Noir is an exact clone of homelander.
