For me - Lae'zel was the most profound character in the game. If your character pursued a romance or even if you take her down a certain 'path' you literally watch her come full circle. What makes it great is that the shedding of the rough exterior *feels* organic. It happens for a reason and incrementally gets better as a result of her coming to terms with the truths she not only confronts but acknowledges and accepts. She feels like a real person.
I am still on act 1 because I have very limited time to play, but Lae is my main damage dealer alongside Karlach. Her movement is nuts, she can easily wipe out half the enemy party if you time her right with AP. I haven't seen so much of her personality yet, however I am still on Act1, so I imagine there's more development to her. BG games have always had strong writing if you ask me, they were easily the best cRPG games of their era. "She looks like..." Thats something I noticed a little while back, a lot of developers are using the VA's image as a reference for character models. Im a big fan of that.

I can't imagine my party without Lae'zel. Her journey and development are incredible, and her voice is a HUGE part of why she works as well as she does.
Lae'zel reminded me about trying to date in Quebec. It's like... if they show you hostile ambivalence, they like you. And you never have to worry about your safety. LOL
Just coming up to act 3, and just from what I've experienced, Devora's VA work has been stellar. The life she and the rest of team have brought to the characters is stunning. I've really come around to Lae'zel, and it's really because of her deliver and the character that Devora has delivered in her work. Can't wait to keep playing!
Devora does an amazing job bringing Lae'zel as a character to life. Lae'zel is probably not the most popular character for many players, but in my playthrough I said, fuck it, my character will listen to this alien women cause she knows more about mindflayers than me. And I went full on the Githyanki path, ignoring most advice from other members, putting Lae'zel's advice first. As far as straight up giving the Githyanki the artefact back and not listening to the "lies" of the guardian... holy crap I didn't expect what I was stumbling into. I'm glad I took this route and Lae'zel is actually my strongest character in fights as well now.
Lae'zel is the one character that I didn't like much at all until I finished her story quest in act 1 and now she's one of my favorites. Perfectly written and voice acted. Also, great interview!
Lae'zel all day, straightforward and has her goals set when she meets you, 100% brutally honest (so many companions being secretive), and the progression with her character is superb tier she has the nickname Bae'zel for a reason
Lae´Zel was my romance for the first playthrough, i played an Orc, so it was fitting... I know the arcs from the other companions too, but the arc from Lae´Zel is THE BEST ARC in this game... Hands down! And Devora did an AWESOME job, she is my favorite companion and Devora is part of this reason!
Thank you. I did have the opportunity to speak with Astarion's Voice actor as well , if you want to check it out. But I do hope I get to talk to more actors from the game.
I really enjoy interviews with voice actors. Over the years I’ve come to have so much respect for them and their craft, and I love that video games have gotten large enough to attract big talent. It wasn’t always this way. With all the other issues in modern game development I appreciate any W we get. Please do more videos like this!
Oh thank you so much for watching. I really love sharing the stories of these voice actors and there's definitely more coming. SO far I've talked to 35 voice actors including Devora. I think voice acting has grown a lot in numbers but it was always really good even couple decades back. Maybe not so much in games as it is now
Devora you did amazing! Mainstay always in my party. Seeing you excited about the reviews is wholesome, you guys deserve it and all the praise. Your feistiness is incredibly memorable, always chuckle when she says "Speak." haha so sharp and direct.
Given how pivotal the character's story can end up being, I didn't have her in the party but was surprised that a character so gritty could somehow have such a range. It's a lot harder than it seems to do that at skill, at scale, and also with considerations of animation and context. Honestly, the whole voice cast really nailed it here.
It was a great interview with the character actress. Not only that, she has an equally great personality and that just also helps to like the insane character even more. I didn’t think I’d enjoy these kind of interviews before, but just willing to listen I find I do enjoy the actors talking about their experience and how they came to be in these game projects. It’s great the actors persevered and in the end get to see the world their character got to make and how players are enjoying them with their game play. Great interview and great the actress lent her time for the interview.
I got in on the early access 2 years ago. To say I was ready for full release is a massive understatement. I haven't finished it yet (just about to hit Act 3) because I've been chewing on all the bits and pieces that weren't part of the early access releases. It is VASTLY different than the first early access versions, and all for the better. Larian, the writers, the cast, everyone did an outstanding job on a project some of us have been waiting 20 years for (since BG2). Congrats to all, and thank you for the hard work.
Wow, Devora shows her intelligence with the question about aliens. Not many people would come to the same conclusion as her. When it comes to La'zel, I'm on my 4th play though, and she is one character I have to have every time.
This is perfect! I'm so glad I randomly stumbled upon this. Baldur's gate 3 is such an excellent game, and I'm currently trying a new character as a Gith specifically to see how it impacts the different interactions with Lae'zel. Such a great character. And so perfectly acted!
Devora's voice truly is a joy to listen to, clear, she has character, idk, just brilliant. But I must also say, seeing and hearing GaminMadness channel for the first time (greetings from under the pile of stones :D ), Abhi's voice is in fact also very nice to listen. As a non-native English speaker I enjoy clearness and easiness of listening, it's rarely this easy to listen. In many cases even easier than listening my own language, and this is true story. Keep on good work, Abhi 😎👍
I tried to get as many compagnions as possible into my camp. Wasn't easy to convince everybody to get along with laezel and vice versa, but I'm glad I got it to work. I really like how this game turned out. Very nice to get a peak behind some curtains, too.
I found Lae'zel most interesting right from the start when I was just watching a video about a summary of all the companions and man, she didn't disappointed, by far my most favorite character in this game and with one of the most dynamic character developments. 🥰
Tshchk that was ended up on is sooo good. Like first thing I think of, feels both uniquely her, and in a way kinda breaks from under the shell, but just a bit... and is kinda cute
the voice of Lae'zel sold me on the character. The emotions and depth she give when you betray the creche and her whole world is destroyed was perfect, gave me litteral chills. Now Lae'zel is my bae
Great interviews, they shed light on some of the awesome people who made this game. 6:12 Good to hear they sought out input from the voice actors and used intimacy coordinators to help ensure everyone felt comfortable with the scenes/lines. Great art is made possible by respecting your team members, kudos to Larian.
I like to reload and try all the dialogue options with different characters. It takes a loong time to just fully explore one conversation because there are so many options.
Devora, you did an awesome job acting Lae'zel! I know she's gotten a lot of hate online because she doesn't conform to normal female character behavior, but I think she's one of my favorite characters in the game, probably because of it.

Yaa its a very interesting voice
Lae'zel reminded me about trying to date in Quebec. It's like... if they show you hostile ambivalence, they like you. And you never have to worry about your safety. LOL
Well that's true
she is absolutely perfect. Lae'zel progression in the game is outstanding, mostly thanks to this incredible woman. her voice is ipnotic
Yaa her voice acting is done so well
Thanks to Devora and all the other actors on this title for bringing life to these characters.
Absolutely everyone did such a beautiful job
I have to agree... don't even get me started about the music and sound. :)
She completely sold me on the character with her performance. Great work.
Yaa same for me!
Yaa I know right. Everyone has done such a great job with their characters
Lae’zel is just marvellous. I love how she is fierce but eventually can be more open minded towards the end of the story
Yaa I love that
Devora does an amazing job bringing Lae'zel as a character to life.
Lae'zel was my only choice for "romance" and my God is she the best one lol.
That is awesome to hear man! I was going in that route a bit but then I changed. But I love how her story progresses
Lae'zel is the one character that I didn't like much at all until I finished her story quest in act 1 and now she's one of my favorites. Perfectly written and voice acted.
Also, great interview!
Yaa it is written so well. Thank you so much for watching!
Lae'zel all day, straightforward and has her goals set when she meets you, 100% brutally honest (so many companions being secretive), and the progression with her character is superb tier
she has the nickname Bae'zel for a reason
Yaa I love that about her too.
the voice acting in BG3 is as good as I have ever experienced in any game for 40 years of PC gaming
The voice acting is really really good and believable
Lae´Zel was my romance for the first playthrough, i played an Orc, so it was fitting... I know the arcs from the other companions too, but the arc from Lae´Zel is THE BEST ARC in this game...
Hands down! And Devora did an AWESOME job, she is my favorite companion and Devora is part of this reason!
This is great you manage to have a chat with the actors from the game. It's so interesting. I hope you'll get to have the other ones. Loving it!
Thank you. I did have the opportunity to speak with Astarion's Voice actor as well , if you want to check it out. But I do hope I get to talk to more actors from the game.
Lae'zel is one hell of a badass companion, was fun having her around till the end.
Yaa she is definitely one of the badass companion
I really enjoy interviews with voice actors. Over the years I’ve come to have so much respect for them and their craft, and I love that video games have gotten large enough to attract big talent. It wasn’t always this way. With all the other issues in modern game development I appreciate any W we get. Please do more videos like this!
Oh thank you so much for watching. I really love sharing the stories of these voice actors and there's definitely more coming. SO far I've talked to 35 voice actors including Devora. I think voice acting has grown a lot in numbers but it was always really good even couple decades back. Maybe not so much in games as it is now
Well done Devora. I love Lae'zel's voice. At first I didnt know what to think about her but she is fun to run with.
She is!
Lae'zel was very dynamic and added a lot of immersion to the game, her and Karlach both did an amazing job
Yaa they both did a fantastic job
I'm in act 3 now and gradually chipping away Lae'zel's exterior and really liking the hidden depths to her character
That's amazing!
So that is how heavenly beautiful Lae'zel would be with a real nose?! Incredibly talented voice actress and great job.
Thank you so much for watching
Omg, she sounds totally different than Lae'zel in BG3.
I guess it's part of being voice actor.
Yaa right. One of the things of being a voice actor is sometimes giving a particularly different voice that makes them feel special and unique
Devora you did amazing! Mainstay always in my party. Seeing you excited about the reviews is wholesome, you guys deserve it and all the praise.
Your feistiness is incredibly memorable, always chuckle when she says "Speak." haha so sharp and direct.
Oh yaa I love that
Wonderful interview. It's always a treat to meet the people behind the characters we love (or hate).
Thank you so much for watching!
Lae'zel is so much fun. She's dangerous, and smart, and witty.
You are absolutely right
when you romance her she lets her poetic side out and its beautiful
Given how pivotal the character's story can end up being, I didn't have her in the party but was surprised that a character so gritty could somehow have such a range. It's a lot harder than it seems to do that at skill, at scale, and also with considerations of animation and context. Honestly, the whole voice cast really nailed it here.
Oh absolutely! Everyone in the cast has done an amazing job
Thank you so much for watching. I'm truly grateful that she decided to give her time to talk about her character
From a voice actor's perspective, her work here was, for lack of a better word, flawless. Bravo! 👏👏👏👏
Yaa her work is so good!
Yaa Larion has definitely done such a great work and so have the voice actors
Devora did an amazing job voice acting! & her beauty is just as fierce as Lae'zel's personality 😍
Yaa she is def pretty
She did sucha great job, one of my favorite characters for sure! Her Gale and Karlach are my faves.
Oh that's awesome!
Hey, you got my favorite party comp here! 😅😂 (my first playthrough main party comp)
Wow, Devora shows her intelligence with the question about aliens. Not many people would come to the same conclusion as her. When it comes to La'zel, I'm on my 4th play though, and she is one character I have to have every time.
That's awesome to hear.
This is perfect! I'm so glad I randomly stumbled upon this. Baldur's gate 3 is such an excellent game, and I'm currently trying a new character as a Gith specifically to see how it impacts the different interactions with Lae'zel. Such a great character. And so perfectly acted!
Ooo that's awesome!
Oh wow that's very kind of you to say that. Thank you very much!
Devora is absolutely amazing with her work
Fantastic job by this actress. I would never guess that voice belonged to her. Seriously top notch work.
Yaa I know right. It's amazing how different she sounds
I tried to get as many compagnions as possible into my camp. Wasn't easy to convince everybody to get along with laezel and vice versa, but I'm glad I got it to work. I really like how this game turned out. Very nice to get a peak behind some curtains, too.
Ya I think you can get as many companions as possible and I'm also really happy how this game turns out to be
Thanks for the interview. I definitely enjoyed her character.
Thank you for watching
"Things are meant to be sometimes" - Yep she is right this game her work the history and all of it was just meant to be.
I guess so
So cool seeing the actors behind the characters! Thanks for this 😀
Thank you for watching!!
I found Lae'zel most interesting right from the start when I was just watching a video about a summary of all the companions and man, she didn't disappointed, by far my most favorite character in this game and with one of the most dynamic character developments. 🥰
Oh wow that's lovely!
loved her voice in the game, didn't knew she was this cute :-)
She is very pretty
Tshchk that was ended up on is sooo good. Like first thing I think of, feels both uniquely her, and in a way kinda breaks from under the shell, but just a bit... and is kinda cute
I watched the sunset with Lae'zel it was worth
That is awesome!
I have to say, the voice acting in BG3 is some of the best I've ever heard. It really helps to create immersion.
Oh yaa right! It is just so believable
I feel like lae’zels voice was one of the best sounding ones
She was def one of the unique ones for sure
Definitely my favourite character, great voice acting.
the voice of Lae'zel sold me on the character. The emotions and depth she give when you betray the creche and her whole world is destroyed was perfect, gave me litteral chills. Now Lae'zel is my bae
As for so many people
Наконец-то настал её звёздный час! Поздравляю, а то снималась во всякой лаже до этой замечательной игры 😊
Yaa absolutely! Kudos to the entire team for making it comfortable for voice actors to perform
Oh we shouldn't care about the hate. Her character is legitimately so good
Lae'zel is like that distant family member from abroad that puts everyone off with her mannerisms. But, she's family and you still kinda love her 😁.
Oh wow that's an interesting way to put it. I kinda agree
At first I did not like her but over the course of the game, I enjoyed her company and she is one of the mainstays in my party
Yaa I was the same!
Lae’zel is a MASTERPIECE /hugs
I loved that you can do an intimidate check to be the Dom in the Lae'zel scene xD
I am so surprised at the difference from her real voice and Lae'zel voice!
Lae'zel is my favorite companion!
She captured her slessence so much!!
Oh yaa she has done such an incredible job!
All voice actors/actresses did an amazing job !
Oh yaa they did such a great job
Awesome game, fantastic work. I am having some epic time... Thank you all.
Thank you for watching!
I took Lae'zel first second as a wife this voice is so lovely i knew this was a wonderfully gorgeous women behind it like Devora !
Lae'zel and Karlach are epic love the game its such a masterpiece played it for 110hours and cant wait for the next run.
That's wonderful! I love Karlach
Lae'Zel is the Sten of Baldur's Gate 3. He would be mildly impressed with her.
