Have you tried the MKE400 while the camera/recorder was connected to the mains? I have tried several cameras, recorders, power supplies... electric hum. This makes this moc sort of unusable to me. When the camera is on battery power or a powerbank, it is fine though.
@@ww1www I've never had an issue as it's still being powered through the camera itself. I don't see why it would have the hum. Personally I've never had the issue and I still own the MKE 400 today.
Hey Marcin, I'd recommend checking out my video on the wireless mics the Hollyland Lark M1s they're great and I was using them on my recent wedding and they're great! These mics are better for talking head videos and interview set ups where you have more control of the ambiance. Hope that helps.
@@adan_lexin completely agree with you. I still have mine and sold the video mic pro + though it was mostly due It's large size. Love the MKE400. You're most welcome
Something I would’ve liked to watch before! The video can do much better in my opinion if you change the title to the idea of the idea. Something along the lines of: Senheisser mke 400 vs the video mic pro+ Which sounds better? Nice job with the video!
Hey Josh! Appreciate the comment and feedback. That's actually great advice! I'll give it a go. Though, I'd love to tell you my reasoning. I noticed as keywords which microphone is better had a lot more results, though I do agree with you on the fact your suggestion sounds a lot better. So I really appreciate it. I'll give it a go!
I understand it bro and it is a good one! Though, I searched for this exact same comparative days ago (as I wanted to see what mic to buy between these two mics) I couldn’t find any. So I went ahead and bought the mke. Then yesterday I came across your video. Hence the suggestion, use the keywords but add to the tittle what mic’s your gonna talk about. That way people cam find you video when searching for those specific mic’s. Also, you could put a photo of both mic’s in frame and a “vs” between them. They look small in your thumbnail. Try it out! I trust it can help bring more views on it bro!
Rode is more basis frequency. It sounds with more "body" in the voices. Sennheiser sounds maybe more clear. I like the gross of the voice with rode, but prefer the shape / design of sennheiser.....
To be honest we both think alike. I agree, I really like the sound of Rode but love the design of sennheiser. Rode has always been so innovative to me.
@@Addrian. I have Video Mic Pro+ and on Monday I will have here an MKE 400 copy to switch, but honestly I think that the sound of the rode mics are always more "broadcasting" tone, and I love that. The problem with the rode Video MIc Pro+ is the shape form. It is very bad mic to include on a suitcase or bag. That is the worst thing of that mic. If the form factor were more like sennheiser, ummmm..... i dont know. I have to say anyway that sennheiser mics are brilliant. I have an mke 600 and man, that mic is awesome.
@@oreales yeah agreed. I've had all of the ones you mentioned including the MKE600 which I love as well. Though I agree the rode mic pro + with the aux cord from behind was really a design flaw as you can push the camera towards you if in a tight space, you can even look in the EVF properly because the cord hits your head. But in terms of sound, all honesty they both sound pretty great. I've just got a bit more bias towards Rode.
EXACTLY what I wanted to know! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!
You're most welcome. Still use the MKE 400 even today 🙏
This video helped me finalize my purchase for the MKE 400. Thank you!!
That's awesome! You made a great choice. The MKE 400 is such a treat.

Hi, I record weddings, during the preparations very often need to record voices from a distance of several meters, which microphone would you choose?

So which one is worth buying for vlogging
Definitely the MKE 400. It's lightweight, small and in my opinion sounds better. Highly recommend it. I have two and an MKE 200. You'll love it.

Sennheiser sounds more treble and high pitched than the Rode?
A tad, but it also sounded better in my opinion.
