That's a really good chub out of our river, the river looked a bit high to, got a few days without rain coming up. Will be down there before the season closes. All the best.

Hiya Paul. Very nice Chub mate. I will be trying for a 5 down at Penshurst next season and hopefully the odd chunky Barbel. I know that pub you were talking about very well. Great fun sitting there and chucking a chip or two or some peanuts upstream of where they normally sit and wait. they do hear/feel the splash then they all dash upstream enmasse . Hilarious. Certainly aren't like that downstream of the bridge especially after the first opening week .... hahaha

Hi Glenn, good luck in your pursuit of a 5, I've never had one quite that big from that stretch , but have heard of a couple this season.
Thise chub are crazy, funnily enough I did track down a few chub quite a way downstream with crust. Which made me wonder if more chub could be located or caught during winter using crust? Or whether it was just that bit of water?
I have seen chub take crust on the Eden one very warm February day.

@@PaulVicaryfishing interesting Paul. I've never tried crust down there. I use meat, flake and sweetcorn mostly. Breadflake seems to work quite well down there in winter I've found..... although I don't go much in winter these days. I did use to catch quite well on crust on the Teise. Shame the Len is so overgrown these days as there used to be some great chub fishing up from the park. There are some interesting spots around Tonbridge where sizeable chub come up. One I won't say about on here .... haha .

In the past month I have had 2 pike on luncheon meat that was meant for Chub, didn’t manage to land them so unfortunately they are out there with hooks still in

      Thanks for watching.
It happens, particularly as the way pike bite its unlikely to be lip hooked.
Good luck for the last week of the season.
