Brilliant teacher u explain a much simpler way to navigate the fretboard nobody else does it as well as u.👍
It's nice that you are playing my mother's favorite music on her 93rd birthday today. Thanks Brian.
Happy Birthday to your mom❤️
@@annemariekaczorowski1863 Thank you, Anne. Are you a member of Active Melody? If so, see you over there.
❤️
Happy Birthday
Striking coincidence Brian. I 've been working on diads, triads and sixths for past two weeks and at 3.30 am this morning, enjoying my caffeine kick and, lo and behold, this lesson pops up! Set my guitar on it's stand and was totally immersed. Profoundly grateful as always Brian. You outdo yourself each time demonstrating that ' simplicity is the ultimate sophistication'. Once again THANK YOU BRIAN.
Hey Brian, even though I have been using triads for a long time, I have now been finding a great new approach to improvising with them from your series. I've had a few people I jam with notice a difference, so that has been rewarding , as well as more fun. Will stay tuned in !
You're probably one of the best teacher on the web. Thanx a lot for all!
Brian, I'm getting so much out of your lessons. Thank you Sir.
Premium member for a couple of years and always amazed by the fine teaching 👌🏼
My wk-end agenda is now complete 🙂 Thanks Brian!!
I'm an Active Melody subscriber for some years now who has been generally lazy about going to RUclips to thumbs up his videos but I thought it was time to show some love and respect here. There are times you just want to learn songs and that is good but not what this site is about. Here, you will learn about the styles and thoughts and techniques of your favorite styles and artists so that with some thought, practice, and exploring on your own you can expand your knowledge of what's going on. Your given keys and insight to explore on your own, improvise, and begin making YOUR music. This is helping me break out of my being a memorizer copier of songs - which I will always do to some extent - to feeling more like a musician ...... Thanx Brian - the journey continues.
Been playing those for years but now I understand what they're called .thank you
Long time premium member so glad to have these lessons. The more you reference the actual intervals related to the major scale the more useful the lessons become! Thanks Brian.
Love those harmonized 3rds. Brilliant lesson! You nailed this one Brian.
Brian, the longer the intro the better. Thank you.
Awesome lesson series Brian. Tying the triads, harmonized 3rds and 6ths back to chord shapes was a lightbulb moment for me. It is so much easier to visualize parts of the chord shapes then trying to memorize a new shape.
Learn CAGED pls
Great video, thanks. Relating the melody and intervals to chord shapes is so helpful.
I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm finally making progress.
That intro reminds me of the lead guitarist in a country band I played in back in the early 1970's. He played mostly two and three notes leads using a Fender Jaguar and a leaned-back Fender Twin Reverb. He would even bend strings, while playing the two or three notes, mimicking a steel guitar. Good memories!!!
That's gotta be my favorite of all your guitars.
The Vega Odell is a beauty 🙏🎸. I like that Chet style D7 tension🙏.
You’ve got the perfect guitar for that one 😊
Great video!!!! Lightbulb again!!!!
Another well taught extremely helpful lesson to help us make sense of all the missing pieces to fretboard mastery.
Love how you have been building on the triads over the last many weeks. Lots of light bulbs. I’ve been a member for about 1.5 years and if these lessons speak to you throw brian some money it only costs the price of an hour lesson and you will get so much more.
Brian, greetings from Finland. Brilliant lesson again. All worth the yearly subscription. Keep on the good work.
40 seconds in and my mouth is watering!!!!
Nice lesson. One thing is learning triads but actually putting them to use in a musical way is another altogether. Thank you!
This was really good. First video I've seen of yours.
Love this one ! looking forward to part two
Yes, triad lessons are great. They broke me out of cowboy chords and full barre chords.
My favorite teacher with my favorite guitar (of his) talking about my favorite subject, the harmonized notes and triads! How cool is that?? 🎸🤩💕
Another great lesson. Thank you! I love learning more about triads
Insanely valuable info, as usual. Thx
Your videos are great. Thanks, Brian.
I really feel that an added benefit of this lesson is the importance of using upstrokes. Since I started playing I seem to play everything with downstrokes. Using triads are definitely making it easier to work out the benefits of using downstrokes. Well for me anyway

Nice frames! And terrific lesson, as always
lots of cris smither... itook some lessons a while back .....great stuff....thanks
Great stuff, Brian 😁
That D7 is beautiful. I don't know who Chet Atkins is, but now I feel inclined to look him up 😅
Really good information, I am learning triads and looking for a way to better use them to create more meaningful, melodic solos.
Hey Brian ,how about more of the same .Another key?Other chords ?Another song ?This was a big help
5:09 IS KEY
the other two shapes are the 2nd and 3rd minors I think; like C dm em F
Love it
Cool.
I've learnt triad shapes a few times and never managed to do anything with them in my lead playing. Hopefully this may help.
great
Also, is this the same as playing in the Key of A?
👍🏾👍🏿👍🏼👍🏻👍🏾👍🏿👍🏼👍🏻❤❤❤❤❤❤
When using harmonised thirds to play melodies, is the melody carried on the high harmony (3rd) string or on the lower (scale note) string.

HARMONIA - RAGU (OFFICIAL VIDEO LIRIK)
why is it that to my ears those harmonized thirds sound Hawaiian as well as the 50s european cinema and early 60s television and it's a warm sound too. that's just me though.
Gosh, you have that Odell gleaming!
Ain’t she purty? 😊
Where the hell did you get all those records?
I love your lessons although sometimes you ramble and talk to much
Nice, a compliment and an insult. thankssomuch!
