@@elpagna First of all, I am happy that it is working for you, while it wasn't beyond talking to a friend or a family member for myself, I hope it keeps helping you.
That said, in my humble opinion, if someone needs help, we need to recommend them to see a licensed professional, many of which will do online too. The way influencers talk about betterhelp in these videos make it seem like a way more potent option than what it really is. It is basically a paid support chat, that also sells your information. And while it may help to chat with someone, and sometimes help a lot, it is usually not a replacement for actual treatment and should not be recommended to people who need help as a default option. - Which again, these sponsored videos often do.
And if someone actually needs to another person that will just listen to them and try to understand their issues, maybe give some feedback on how to approach it, I'd recommend looking for communities of people that go through similar things. While each one of us are unique, our issues usually are not. And it can really help to talk with people that went through similar issues. Since privacy is apparently no concern here, even an online forum can be a replacement.

Love the videos but you cannot be advertising betterhelp now man... They've been outed twice now, they're such a scummy company in so many ways and there's so much material about it out there, there is no excuse to have them be your sponsor in August 2024.
Really hope you fix this, you're one of my absolute favorite channels.

the unfortunate thing about (all) therapy (in my opinion) is that the therapist has a vested interest in not "curing" you ie if you're cured you don't I have a reason to go back to them, which means you won't pay them money anymore. I'm not saying they all do that, but it would definitely be easy for anyone with a scammer mentality who is also intuitively good at psychology to create a situation where the person just neeeds to keep coming back... drop in a few hints of repressed memories of child abuse, and you can mess up somebody's relationship with their entire family, but hey, that money will keep rolling in won't it?

@@Whueso Unfortunately, it comes across as opportunistic considering BetterHelp is well known at this point on youtube as a shady business. They've sold private patient information without consent to third parties and had unqualified people as therapists and didn't check any of that. They've also been sued by the FTC somewhat recently and even used official government stamps of approval (I think they were government related, I don't remember what the stamps were exactly, I'm not even a native english speaker) on their website without the right to use those stamps. The stamps have been removed since. I'd also say it's negligent and highly irresponsible to be recommending people a service for something as complicated and sensitive as mental health if you haven't done your due diligence (which he clearly hasn't, this scam has been known for like 6 or more years), if you haven't tried it yourself, or if you're not qualified so quite honestly, as a previously big fan of Magnus, I'm VERY disappointed in him.
