I have been to South Africa. Flew into Joburg and loved the vibe. Explain something, I am American and felt safer in South Africa then in my own country 🤷♀️
One thing about south africa. Every province is different. Hence I love this country
Facts
Every province is unique and one of them is fighting for independence.Western Cape residents are planning to make it a country on its own and KZN is also planning that but Western Cape is far ahead.
Do you believe that orange Africans exists. We have proof of the existence of orange Africans on this channel
@@suzanibafazi8661 they are just dreaming!
@@suzanibafazi8661 your name though 😂
I was raised in Cape Town and currently staying in Johannesburg and for me it is hard to choose a favourite between the 2 cities but Cape Town is for the summer and holidays Johannesburg is for the hustle and fun
I might be wrong but I feel like Cape town gives off more California and Joburg more New York vibes
*if you carpet bombed cali and ny 6 times over
Cape town probably I mix between N.Y. and Cali
U nailed it
Johannesburg Is more like Detroit than New York to me😅
Yeah, joburg is fast paced
If you think about Johannesburg you might wanna consider Pretoria as well, it's much safer, less congested and a bit more relaxed than the busy Johannesburg. I'd say Pretoria is between the two cities in comparison and the advantage of staying at Pretoria is that you are just a few minutes drive from Johannesburg. There is no field that separates us hence you can enjoy the benefits of both Johannesburg & Pretoria without taking a 2 hour flight
Yes Pretoria lover🎉🎉🎉🎉
It is called Tshwane not.........
Pretoria is best city in SA and anything best in SA goes straight to the top in Africa
@@ochrechap nope
Ahh nope... It's the same thing
Here is the thing about South Africa, everything province is unique and different. You can be in Pretoria and feel like you are in another country as compared to Johannesburg and so as other provinces. These provinces are diverse in their own. I love Cape Town for a vacation but Joburg is in my soul. Cape Town is more expensive than Joburg. Some of the analysis here are incorrect.
I will choose Johannesburg any day to live and go on vacation in Cape Town four times a year that will be enough for me😂
Durban can be your 2nd option for holidays 🏖️🏝️
SA has sparsely populated region in the Northern Cape. It is almost like a desert. The area is used as location for scientific research like the biggest radio telescope in the Southern Hemisphere and NASA will also use it for monitoring space from there. That gives me more joy and meaning. It signifies human development
The greatest advantage Johannesburg has over Cape Town is it's close proximity to two other major cities, Pretoria and Ekurhuleni in the Gauteng province. Thus, it is easy to work in Johannesburg and live in the other two cities, people do that daily. Plus, you have a huge population of potential clients/customers (12.5 mil) within a 100km radius if you own a business in JHB/PTA/Ekurhuleni.
Most South Africans who own big businesses in Gauteng, usually purchase holiday homes in Cape Town.
I lived in both cities, Cape Town is more Tourist attractions and very beautiful, and Joburg is huge land and population and business opportunities.
🇿🇦 What I appreciate about your channel is the fact that you curiously pay attention to the information in the videos.
I live in SA. I'm in Durban though. Cape Town is beautiful, but because they target tourists heavily, accommodation is super expensive. But I just don't like jhb. If you like hectic traffic, and working long hours, jhb is for you. Very corporate. Cape Town is more layed back. In durban, we have a very laid back atmosphere, beautiful beaches, warm weather right through SA
If I was given an opportunity to relocate from jhb, I would choose Durban or Gqeberha, love those 2 cities 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Port Elizabeth is the most underrated city in the country. No one talks about it and it's beautiful. PE tourism needs to pull up their socks and sell their city.
@@ochrechap I've never been to PE, I've seen videos on youtube & it looks like a dope place and there are beautiful Xhosa women in PE😁
@@retsenateng facts, I've never been to PE but from the videos I've seen, I can say it's a beautiful place
Cape Town is the mother that mothered the mother of other SA cities🤩 I am biased cos it's my city. From Lagos to CapeTown. Love it here
I live in Johannesburg, but Cape Town is damn beautiful man!!
CT has more of Cali and a bit of NY whereas JHB is more of NY vibe but really friendly. I will choose Joburg anytime because it has a large commercial setting than CT.
I am from Cape Town, but I live in Pretoria in Gauteng Province. We go to Cape Town for vacation and fun but we hustle and make money in Gauteng (Johannesburg and Pretoria)
Another thing you must realize is that since provinces seperated in 94 the distance between major cities is becoming less.Other major cities are developing into cities and are promising to be MAJOR CITIES in the near future.Rustenburg and Malahleni (Witbank) are now classified as cities. They are the fastest developing in the country with Rusty leading and Malahleni following.Their Central Business Districts have not changed but the outskirts have developed a lot.Rustenburg has got the MOST and BIGGEST PLATINUM MINES WORLDWIDE whilst Malahleni (Witbank)has got the most COALMINES in AFRICA.
Rustenburg is crap, it's technically growing but that's because of the private sector. Municipal services are worse than they've ever been and they're only getting worse.
@@Fauxkat69 Is it? I suppose if municipal services were up to date it would develop even the municipality 🌇 just don't want to do their job moes?
I think Johannesburg for work purposes. as a single person u can always share a apartment and have more savings.
Great video. 3 things the gentleman did not mention which makes me suspect it was intentional, (1) He did not mention the GDP of Johannesburg, he mentioned that Cape Town's GDP is $33 billion USD, I will help, the GDP of Johannesburg is over $100 billion USD (2) The amount of millionaires, the amount of millionaires in Johannesburg of over 3 times than that of Cape town (3) Cape town is in the top 10 most crime ridden cities in the world and you will not find Johannesburg even in the top 30.
I live in Pretoria and frequently go to JHB, especially on weekends. I love costal cities like Cape Town, Durban Qheberha for vacation, but my heart reaims in Gauteng Province(Johannesburg and Pretoria).
Right now KZN government is trying to make their own Pietermaritzburg-Durban conurbation.A continuous metropolitan area by building a dry port in between in Cato Ridge and have many factories in Cato Ridge.Pietermaritzburg was planning its own metro municipality 🌇 with Howick and Cato Ridge.
I would say Joburg is more Newyork and Cape town is similar to Florida or San Diego
Unfortunately our youth unemployment rate is very high.
Johannesburg is fast-paced where Cape Town is very laid back.. we always have road rage when we visit CT because we just want to get to our destination while they take their time.
CT has 4 seasons in a day and it has beautiful views..Johannesburg doesn't have an ocean but we have many walking/hiking trails etc. CT also has a clique feel to it..so I don't feel it's as welcoming as JHB. To find good property there you literally need to be a millionaire where we have bigger yards and more space for much cheaper in JHB.
I don't know if I believe the cost of living though..it's pretty much the same for groceries..your seafood will obviously just be cheaper in CT because they don't have to add all the transportation costs.
Cape Town is the best governed city in SA so you actually get service delivery, in that sense, I won't mind paying more. That's also why most people want to move there.
You forgot to mention that in all the provinces, it is so hard to grow your food in Cape Town. Another reason why other people don't even dream about moving to Cape Town.
it depends what you want, CPT is best for living and being safe
Joburg is a city for business
In terms of safety, it depends where you go, arguably Cape Town is more dangerous.
😂😂😂let me assist guys, yes there's a lot of space in Africa, but there are Cities between Cape Town and Johannesburg
😂😂😂
Mother city ❤Capetown is a picture while u walk through it
It's a 2 hour flight between the cities, and 18 hours drive.
U know these places very well. This what i tell but they don't believe me.
For beauty: Cape Town. For work : Hands down Jozi! This video doesnt take into consideration the racial groups of the people employed in Cape Town and the tyoes of jobs they do. For the advancement of my career, im happy in Jozi
Even though I live in Canada now I was born and brought up in Johannesburg. I have had the opprtunity to travel extensively through the US and Europe. And there is no place like JHB. Its a different vibe. Johannesburg is the state of mind.
I’m from congo but Cape Town is my city i have lived there all my teens life and I have study all my high school there im currently living in US and im not impress Cape Town is mother city
The video does not cover alot of things. Depending on what you do or how you chose to live, both cities can give you what you need. Personally, its work, raise and manage your family in Jhb, then go spend that money or vacation in Capetown 😊
For m I’m so inlove with Cape Town
Personally I think it's about who you are and the lifestyle you prefer. Beauty vs Fanciness. Cape Town is "Beautiful" while Johannesburg is "Fancy". Subculture...
Cape town is practically like N.Y. and Cali combined as it has the busy city life and also has the beaches in my opinion, cape town is where I'm from so it has it's good and bad point's like most places across the globe.
Raised in Johannesburg, and I'm tryna move to Cape Town. I love my city, but I need a different vibe and lifestyle entirely
Come to Harare😅
@@BatsiraiMusuka That's not a bad idea actually. I'm not sure about moving, cause I love my country. But an adventure to Harare sounds like a plan
@@lethabopsalm5844 hehe…that’s how we recruit you. 🤣🤣 You won’t want to leave.
One of my Dad’s friends (a South African) did that. Stayed for over a decade. 🤣😅😅
@@BatsiraiMusuka Is it? Interesting because since democracy few South Africans go to neighbouring countries especially if they are going there to stay and it's not just a holiday 🏖️🏝️
Don't, you will regret it. The property prices, no rain, everything pricey
One of the main reasons why South Africa has 3 major cities: Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban even though it's a medium size country is because before 1994 most provinces were joined together. It had 4 provinces Transvaal, Cape Province, Natal and Orange Free State.Transvaal(Limpopo Mpumalanga Gauteng and North West) all combined.Cape Province(Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape) all combined. The rest of the cities are barely cities nothing else.
Pretoria is a major city as well
Mother City aka Cape Town is the best especially vacation time
There's only one city in South Africa and that's Cape Town period 😂
Cape town is the village of South Africa 😂😂😂😂😂
Wow 86k subscribed when yall were still at 40k 🇿🇦
I will down with yuh l have been to two cities cost of living in Cape town is very high compared to that of Johannesburg, am speaking from first hand account
Lol the Transportation part when they were showing Jozi it was actually Durban streets 😂🧑🦯😎
Yeah 🇿🇦 from Cape Town 🤣😂🤣
I love Cape Town because it is my home town and it’s beautiful ❤. Joburg on the other hand , has more of a vibe and there are more jobs that pay well . I live in Pretoria, and to me it’s a balance between Cape Town and Joburg. Yes , there’s isn’t a beach and mountains , but it’s not as slow paced as Cape Town, but not as busy as Joburg . ❤
This is the video I need to see. I’m trying to visit South Africa. Not sure if I can go to both cities, been debating about Cape Town Vs Johannasburg. Going back and forth
@@ochrechap ah ok thanks! I will look at the flights between to cities and look at my budget. ❤️
Where are you from if I may ask?
@@ncedipholosi8526 southern USA, I want to visit South Africa
Johannesburg is the economic hub of Africa not just south africa 🇿🇦 it is the richest city in Africa
I thought Cape Town didn't have water. And Jozi's water is top notch.
Jozi has no sea or ocean.
CT is almost an island how can it not have water 😮
Capetown is like 14 hours drive from Jo'burg then 1 and a half hour by flight
Maze Runner: The Death Cure was shot in Cape Town. The building I worked in was used to shoot some scenes.
Johannesburg is an economic hub of SA
Not only SA but the entire continent
Economic hub of Africa..the stock exchange of Johannesburg is more than the stocks of all African countries put together even adding the other stocks found in SA.
You need to consider the crime statistics in both cities. Very important!!!
I dont think this was accurate....i just feel they promoting cape town...johannesburg is hands down far more economic than cape town and salaries in Johannesburg are higher...cape town on the other hand its were most people retire to....johannesburg has more of everything than cape town...it really doesn't make sense....nah...
The analyst is a fan of Capetown😃😃😃
This is equivalent to the LA v NYC debate. Those of us who love a high-paced city prefer Joburg, whilst more laid-back individuals love Cape Town. I could never survive the slow pace of Cape Town... so JHB all the way!!!
💯💯💯💯💯
Tell me about it… The driving there frustrates me… when they refer to traffic, it’s not the moving traffic we’re used to here in Jhb😂
Depending on which stores you go to. Food are actually affordable in Joburg❤❤❤
In cape town there is more to do and see for free than in jhb
I live in Crawford Cape Town....very nice and safe...but the properties in Johannesburg areas are 48% cheaper but the air you breath not so clean for your kids.
Its an 18 hour car drive
I thought joburg has a Gdp of $250 billion while Capetown is $150 billion???
The last time i checked Johannesburg has a higher GDP then Cape Town by a mile, When did this change?
The person who was doing this video is a CPT fan. Some of the analysis don't make sense.
He is just bullshiting
2 hour flight ✈️, 14 hour drive 😅
Johannesburg and Capetown are 1200 km apart, so by car, you could drive for 17 hours on average or more depending on traffic.
Im from the East side Johannesburg which is know as the East Rand
I will go for Cape town.
Nobody tells you guys about our unique spot here in South Africa, car spinning(drifting) and it is legal to do it here but no on a public road ..there even a show "so you think you can spin " or Katra ..you check it out guys
Cape town is the vacation city ppl from jozi come here in December on holiday
The water thing is twisted JHB has better water I currently live in CPT and 😢 water here is salty
Hmmm!!!!! very balanced commentary I agree
Personally I'm from Cape Town, I enjoy both of them. Joberg is great for work but cape town is better for culture and entertainment.
It is indeed true, they are both beautiful in their own way, but Cape Town is Amazingly Amazing ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Hey guys, I enjoyed your video.
I’m actually moving to Cape Town from California. Cape Town is the place to be. I purchased a home near the wine country near stellenbosch. I received my retirement visa 3 months ago. Reach out if you would like to connect. I’m David
Yes, Cape Town is like LA… I’m in California now and moving to the Cape Town area this summer.
Welcome to Cape Town 🎉🇿🇦
Good to have you in SA :) Where in California did you come from?
🎉😂❤🤾😊🙏🇺🇲🤸🇿🇦💪✌️
Still choose Durban
I just want to say that $17 for transport a day that brother must be joking, I know he be making it easy for u to understand but come on really that's like $17 = almost R400 he crazy 😂 more like $3!!!
I don’t know where that guy stays. Maybe his prices are maxi taxis
JHb- CT ca. 900 miles or 1500 Km by road.
Come to Joburg girl..... Love it here....
I am born and bred in Johannesburg and I think it’s still the best city. You should look for a house in the Northern Suburbs e.g. Bryanston area, Morningside , Sandton, Westcliff, Fourways etc. CTP is expensive.
Johannesburg is actually the economic hub of the country. It is billions ahead of Cape Town.
They forgot to mention ct has water shortages
As a South African I'd suggest trying all different cities in the country in order to enjoy its diversity. Johannesburg is a melting pot of cultures because of its mining origins and its location geographically
It's because most of of people from Capetown are here in Johannesburg
Cape Town is Los Angeles, Joburg is New York and Durban is Miami.
❤ from CPT, SA
I kept saying “Cap”… This video is super misleading
the jhb v cpt competition is silly . cape town will forever be my place of birth and is a beautiful city. Gauteng namely pretoria and are beautiful in their own right too . Joburg has amazing parks and greenbelts and botanical gardens and also the close proximity to the neighbouring provinces and countries makes for good road trips . beautiful people I have met in Gauteng too . i would choose to live there again if the opportunity popped up . like you said its pros and cons to living where you want to. . i just wish we had a government who looked after this country properly though.
No wonder Western Cape want independence because they are Gatvol of being oppressed by the ANC.After the provinces seperated in 94 more major cities would have developed like Gqebherha (PE).It would be a major city Eastern Cape residents wouldn't all flock to Cape Town.
@@suzanibafazi8661 😭 I wish all cities to be prosperous so that people won't want to move out of necessity but rather because it's an option to visit. If only the people in charge would actually care about the people of this nation more than their fat stomachs we imagine the great potential of this place and the people 😭 so much talent going and gone to waste.
@@AGirlNamedVan You couldn't be more right because we can't all flock Johannesburg,Cape Town and Durban. These one have to develop to their levels also.
@@suzanibafazi8661 also I always wish everyone thieves where they are. I'm not saying don't relocate. I have just seen so many people traveling unnecessary long distances just to work and then go home weekends. It's so sad because I know it would kill me if tha was me. Yet it's a reality for many. 😢
@@AGirlNamedVan Ek verstaan 😕
Cape town 🎉
When you guys come come to Jhb please
Cost of living is higher in CPT I don't know where the person got their research
Johannesburg all the way, we live and die in Joburg, the place to be. You got to be there to know it. 😂
Pretoria is the best
It's less that an hour drive to jhb
If you are from the US everything will be cheaper
Cape Town for the win. I lived in Cape Town for 37 years and only went to JoBurg to play Rugby or party/club.
Both cities are great, but Cape Town is safer and Joburg is also beautiful, Cape Towns beauty is just next level.
Cape Town is LA, Joburg is NY {although it is inland) and Durban is pure Miami.
This survey is so inaccurate. Look Johannesburg is has waaaay much to offer than Cape Town. I Love both.
Johannesburg is the city for me any day, its close to Pretoria for one and its less discriminatory
To be blunt though one has lil racism
its cheaper in jhb than cpt
I love this channel....But here is a secret, The SA Goverment the only Goverment in Africa, who have a million Rand for each and every SA citizen....South Africans are not really poor...
Plz look up emerald
Why would you want to be walking on the streets at night vele!!!
I don't think you pay more for food in Johannesburg... Can't be
