- Review of the BALDR 500 portable power station and 100 watt foldable solar panel by Togo Power.
The BALDR 500 is a small but powerful little power station. It holds over 500wh of energy and has a 500 watt pure sine inverter to power all your electronics. It'll run my MacBook Pro for around 14-16 hours. I also review the Togo Power 100 watt foldable solar panel. It's a monocrystalline panel that has multiple ports for different applications.

I enjoy the challenge of making these videos. Each company has different requirements and it is a nice challenge and change of pace. Not to mention, I actually do use these everyday and appreciate and value getting them in exchange for my time. I hope you find value in them, especially if you are thinking about buying a power station.
I'm currently camped in the Sierra Nevada mountains about 25 miles east of Sonora. It's beautiful here but there are crazy amounts of yellow jacket bees. I cannot cook outside or even have an open liquid or I'll be swarmed by bees. It's also very hot, in the upper 80's here, and I'm just trying to stay cool.

Yea, finally! You're here, alive and well, still hanging out with us. So good to see you. Hope that you're feeling much better soon. As always, stay safe out there Bex Cat-herder.
Thank you, Rick. I have since moved to a higher elevation and away from the yellojackets. 👍😄
@@BexCatherder you need to come back here to the north Oregon coastline; 62 degrees and overcast sky's, with a chance of rain.
I'll be at Descend on Bend, hoping it will be cooler by then. Hopefully I can get back to the Oregon coast soon. Really wonderful place!
The bees may be looking for water. Setting out some in a shallow plate a distance away along with sugar water mt lure them away from you.
I set my Jackery behind the solar panel. Helps keep it shaded and helps support the panel from the wind.
That gum transplant doesn't sunrise much fun.
And don't sell yourself short in the beauty department!
Such a good comment!
Great advice! Thank you for sharing-you are a caring person! 👍🏾🥰👋🏾😇🙏🤗
My wife had that same transplant surgery hers went well, hope yours does also, also I enjoy your channel.
Good review! Wishing you a speedy recovery! 😃👍
Very glad you are doing well. I greatly enjoy your videos. Thank you much!
Enjoyed the video.
So great to see you again. I just love your sense if humor! Also thanks for the awesome review of this inverter. I hadn’t heard of it before.
@@baldrpowersolutions6909 she's a gem
Its so cool that people are making more & more types of solar power banks. Then we see reviews from multiple people. Since everyone uses power differently, having more reviews is really helpful. Oooh, hopefully you will heal fast. Mouth sores are so annoying!
Yes, I'm really happy that there is so much to choose from and so much competition. I had wanted to use these as my primary power when I first started but there was really just one company making them and they were very expensive.
Howdy Bex. Thanks for the review on the Baldr. That helps me narrow it down for what I'm looking for. Glad to see that you are recovering well. Happy Trails!🌲🌳🌲🌵🍀
@@baldrpowersolutions6909 Thank you, I'll do that.👍
When I was in Ehrenberg a couple of years ago my RV got swarmed by bees. I was afraid they were trying to take over, then I realized they were just there for the water that had spilled into my water bay on the side of the rig, and weren't trying to set up a new colony
Hi bex !! Glad you showed up ,,! Keep the cut clean , keep the cats cool ,drink plenty of water ,nites wine ,,. See you soon ! 👍💋
It’s SO GOOD TO SEE YOU! Stay safe. Blessings too😎
Excellent review, and hope you heal quickly!
Very good video Bex. Best demo that I have seen about the powerbank. Made my mind up . Gonna get one. I’m jealous of where you are. That is beautiful country. Take care. Stay safe.
On a roll today lol always watch your videos. Good to see you Bex
Love your videos.
Yellow jackets are one of, if not the most aggressive wasp species; so they’re nothing to mess around with. They can sting repeatedly, unlike bees. So, by this time I hope you found safer places to camp!
Sierras = mosquitoes, biting flies, yellow jackets...swarms. PCT hikers complain about them also....
Love your sense of humor! So glad you are healing from from your surgery. Be well.
Thanks for the review on this Baldr 500 ToGo power product. I had not heard of them b4 this video. I hope you are healing nicely. Good to see you videoing. Safe travels and wonderful adventures. ✌💜😊
Hurray 🎉 Bex is back !
"When I wake up the bees are there... everywhere , buzzing around my camper" that's quite an image for us to imagine. They miss you, they're trying to let you know they would like to make movies too. They'll bring the honey. Glad your ok, truly. take care Thanks for all the info you share about RV life.!
Glad to see your doing well!
glad your healing, mouth heals fast 🤗🐾💙 Danni says hi 🐾🐾
Thank you for choosing to share about your gum transplant!
As a woman of faith, I pray for your swift recovery, and protection from insects!
I hope you will take some advice from some of your commenters, and get some sort of netting or something to protect you and your food from the yellow jackets and other insects!
Even the simple idea of placing a bowl of sugar water 20 feet away from where your campground is might help!
I miss seeing you come out of your Casita in the morning, and make yourself your morning cup of coffee, with cream-like me, and then making a delicious meal!
Bex, thank you so much for creating these wonderful videos. Dating app for balding people, lol. Great review of the Baldr.
Good to see and here from you.
We have a charger with an air compressor for pumping tires and jumping the car battery when we forget to turn off the headlights. We’ve used it once to watch movies when it was too cold for stargazing. We’d like to have something like this BALDR that charges with solar, and can run the laptop, charge the phones and keep the other charger for emergencies only. Great, informative review! I’m going to watch this a bunch more times and LEARN SO MUCH SO QUICKLY! I too resent having to join a user group to learn what should be clearly explained in a Manual.
Great suggestion about earthquake prep.! And no kidding, the obnoxious loud generator, vice a solar panel and pre charged Baldr. Thanks, Bex!
Thanks Bex
Great review. Nice unit. You are beautiful now I have to buy one.
Safe travels.
Very useful piece of equipment. Well done Bec. Cheers!!!
Well done on the video! Yellow Jackets: I bought a CLAM Quick-Set 6 x 6 Foot Pop Up Gazebo. Really simple to setup and take down. And you can get additional panels to keep the rain and wind out.
👍🏾🥰👋🏾😇🤗🙏
I was thinking screened enclosure, for sure. I live in Florida. I set that up before the tent went up. 😊 And we have a bug zapper thingy. So we cooked and played games in there.
I'm glad you surgery went well.
Thank God. Amen
Great video and yes, your beauty sells! Wishing you a swift transplant recovery. Thank you for sharing and be safe.
Thanks for sharing this video, get well soon. Take care!
Hi Bex! Always happy to see your postings! Hope you feel better soon.
HIYA BEX!!!!! So happy to see you and that your "transplant surgery" was a success. You cracked me up when you talked about charging your plane. I LOVE your video. They are such a treat!!!
Hi from Tennessee. Great informative video on the generator. Have a fantastic day.
Glad to see u put out a video Bex. Hope ur gums are feeling better.
Thanks for the TOGO review looks like a winner
You're hilarious! Thanks for the power station review. They really are so very handy for everyday electronics.
Very cool! I'm a regular visitor to that area. I'll also be testing their stuff during the Survival Games. Thank you for the excellent review!
Great video thank you!
Not to be a know it all, but having practiced dentistry for years as well as having performed the procedure, it is called a graft, specifically an autograph in your case. Generally most of the post operative pain comes from the location of the graft tissue removal. There are techniques that minimize the pain compared to the traditional type of graft harvesting. I hope you got the new and improved technique. Happy healing. It is so good to see you again.
Just a note on yellow jacket insects, if you put out several shallow dishes, or jar caps with a small amount of water and sugar, honey, jam or juice, the yellow jackets will go there and not be apt to bother you. They are very hungry with no flowers to get nectar. And they eat many larval insect pests. Best wishes to you with the transplant and with everything you do. I love watching your posts, from Ottawa Ontario Canada.
Good review. Thanks Bex!
Good to see you out and about. Oh plug a fan into your Baldr and it will help keep the flies and yellow jackets away. Also I had a Baldr 330 and when it broke I called Baldr. They told they told me they would repair any problems I was having. They area good Company. ToGo Power.
Great seeing you Bex and hope all goes well with the stiches. I'm sure it's not to much fun eating. Nice product and so happy you received one. Please do keep in touch as have missed ya. Thanks
Love this video. So cool that you get to try out new electronics. Sorry about the surgery. Hope your mouth heals quickly.
Always great videos and I learn. Thank you.
Cool! I'm going to look into this. Thanks!
Hi Bex! I had that gum graft surgery 26 years ago! Two uppers and one lower....most painful experience ever, especially when the roof of my mouth was healing since that's where the grafts came from. The dentist said now a days it doesn't have to be so bad since there's the option of using donor grafts. Your mouth will feel better soon!
Same. Also a couple decades ago. I’d had natural childbirth 30 yrs back. Nothing prepared me for gum graft pain! Total sadistic grift. Due to immense failure of this “procedure” every reputable dentist will no longer “perform.” Prior to your surgery, did your dentist liken it to having “pizza burn?” Haha. Mengala!
@@blakesleyk.7166 Lol! Now that you mention it, yes the dentist did describe the pain would be similar to a pizza burn! I remember tears after the freezing and pain killers wore off! This is the only pain I would compare a close second to childbirth, but that even went away after the baby was born! Never again!! Cheers!
I've never had the surgery but I have performed it. Yes when the underlying tissue is left exposed after donor tissue is removed in the traditional technique, it is the equivalent of asphalt or road rash. There is a difference in that a clot does not form to protect the site, like say on an arm. Plus we have to eat, right? A protective acrylic splint is often made for the palate to offer some protection. However, as you commented, there are also donor grafts. My preference is to use tissue from the patient. This removes the risk(however small) of using someone else's tissue. There is a technique where an incision is made in the palate and donor tissue is removed from beneath the surface layer and above the bony palate. I would compare this to removing a slice of cheese from a sandwich leaving the two slices of bread intact.. The incision is sutured and healing is quick. No child birth for me thank you.
I really enjoyed this vid. Thank you
Bex, I just love your style of reviews. So excited to see you at Descend On Bend again this year. See you soon. Cheers, Mindy
Very thorough review and suggestions on power station. Also watched your recent review on Lifepo4 100 amp. You have a good command of solar and good experience to relate. Thanks.
Great review! Nice job ✌️
I love that area.
I camp at a real nice spot called Hull Creek.
Free spring water just before you enter the campground.
When you say you are beautiful it's true..
I was on the same road as Hull Creek campground when I filmed this! LOLZ
But I turned off on a forest road about halfway and drove up into the forest. Really beautiful area. But next time I'll go further up 108 past Pinecrest to get higher and cooler and hopefully no yellow jackets.
@@BexCatherder
First of all I love your little laugh.
I was looking at the map one day and discovered lot's of campgrounds past longbarn to the right side of 108.
I myself am heading out in the fall.
Las Vegas first , daughters house for my new so called address.
Maybe I'll run into you someday and we can have a beer.
Nice and thorough review,
I always love your videos Bex :)
Thank you for the review! I hope the bees leave, the temps cool down and your mouth feels better soon! ✌💕
Thank you
Bex good to see you ❤️thanks for the review . I have the Jackery lithium battery. Togo is very similar😀
Thanks again for your video.
We've been looking at an alternative power supply. 😊🧡
Sounds like a great power source, even a good idea for a regular house. Hope your gums heal soon, and yes, you need to move on to cooler pest free campsite. Stay safe!
Great to see you!!! I throw out my panels like you do....flat. The only time I find it worth the trouble with angling them is around the winter solstice when the sun is very low on the horizon. I just toss a gallon water jug under an edge for a "bracket".
I would love to have one for my truck camper.
LOL. Loved how you put this video together with your humor ...
Hi Bex, thanks much for update on you. For some reason Iv missed your videos. The Bawler? looks very able to take care of my needs. Hope trans plant heals well. From Oklahoma safe travels.
Beautiful!
Hello Bex! Great to see you again and that you are healing up from your transplant surgery. I am wondering that you may be parked near the wasp’s nest, so yeah…get out of there and find a new spot! I loved how you explained the battery bank and Togo solar panels. You reminded me of Vanna White on Wheel of Fortune pointing out each port on the Balder…except you are more beautiful both inside and out! Hope you can hook up one of those little compact AC units to stay cool during this hot weather.
Bex, you are such a treasure. I love your sense of humor. That charger might be just the ticket for me. Thank you for reviewing it. Ugh, those hornets can be so annoying. I've actually had to put my pets inside the camper to protect them. That's good advice from those mentioning placing water or sugar water in shallow containers well away from your campsite. I have purchased a few yellow jacket traps that I put up a short distance from my campsites. They work very well. Congrats on you transplant. Don't mind admitting it scared me to read your title, as well. Take care and hope your next site will be void of yellow jackets and flies. Not sure which is more annoying. An Oregon nomad 🌲❤🐶😽❤🌲
Thanks, you popped my bubble thinking BaldR was a bald only dating site. LOL!
Get a popup screen shelter. I have issues with bees too and would not go camping/boondocking without it. Power banks and solar are the best. I use a fold out Dokio 220 watt panel that weighs 9 pounds with a Rockpals 350 power bank. Does everything I need it to do. Good to see you out and about again.
Good to see ya on the air. When my current home made solar generator wears out, the togo looks pretty good. Like that it is flat and has sine wave.
Great video
Good review .
I like your cute little laugh in your hat! I have always wanted to have a little trailer and travel around the country! I've only travel to the west coast once by car and flew back to the East Coast. You made me chuckle! 😄😄
Great vid thanks 👍👍✌️
Awesome 👌
I have the Jackery. I wish it was flat on top like this model. Being able to put items you’re charging on top would be great.
The buzzing 🐝s have found their honey pot; yep, that be you…🍯
bex your just a riot, hi from bc, yes its hot here in bc vancouver island, love your videos xoxox kaz
We would spend summer vacations at the family cabin in Idyllwild, CA as a kid. My job was making breakfast. We'd eat outside and it was a real battle with hornets. They liked everything from pancakes, syrup & butter to bacon & sausage. They would even nibble on fingers but never sting (if they even do) thankfully.
Nice video. Thanks for the information. And I hope you feel better soon and that you're healed up nicely. 👍
I came for the blue Cowboy hat, I stayed for the rest of the great video!
I have taken a plain brown paper bag and scrunched it up around an old wire hanger so it looks like a hornet's nest to discourage wasps from building around my front porch. You might try it for yourself and see if it helps with your situation. The nice thing about wrapping the brown paper around a hanger is you can easily hang it up and move it when need be.
Keep your charging cable as short as possible because of the voltage drop over distance. My friend had a gum transplant. His was Juicyfruit😀
I love Sonora and Twain Harte - our favorite place in the world.
Take care
My daughter used the cadaver gum transplant. Super easy and she had no down time.
Great review.
If I see a scantily clad young girl on an RV you tube channel, I skip it and don’t click.
Yes-it's not even April fool's Bex 🥺 Although I'm sure that transplant was not fun & I pray you heal fast & of course get away from those bees. Oh yea- nice to see you again 🙋
Hello Just a shout out I hope everything is well for you. Looks like a beautiful place. Stay safe have a great day.🙂
Hi Bex, just came across your video. Very interesting! Had to watch the promo on the Baldr, good info will have to look into one. I use solar panels alot to charge car batteries to run my amatuer radio gear. I might be changing that set up.
You from California? I'm in Missouri just south of STL.
Best to you, stay safe!
Awesome review, I'm definitely considering this one. And my trigger finger is itchy withthat 15% off coupon 😊 edited to add i thought it was named after the norse god lol
Great video on the product. Yeah....about that...we moms do have a hard time laughing at those things. Lol.
See you soon. Less than a month from the next event.
Laying the solar panel flat on the ground has a hazard in campgrounds - there are kids riding bikes all over who don't respect campsite lines, there are people driving who don't see what is behind the RV, people walk all over in the dark (if you forget and don't stash the panel). You would be better to set the panel on the car hood, and fasten it down so the wind can't blow it off.
Here in Louisiana it`s hurricanes and other storms I`ve had to prep for. I`ve been buying power stations and solar panels to run a small freezer, fridge, and my WIFI. I use little power banks for USB fans and lights and charge them with smaller folding solar panels you can find very inexpensive on Amazon if you search for them and set the price on the left to "Under $25." The folding panels can directly power a USB fan during Summer power outages. You can get USB extension cables if you want the fan inside or in a shady spot.
No discount code? Good to see ya Bex ❤
Hi Bex I live down here in Australia I am a subscriber to your channel.Have you ever thought about a small wind power set up as well it would be something extra to carry around but you would have the best of both worlds sun is only during the day but the wind can carry on all night. You can get all sizes of wind kits you can even make one out of an alternator of a car .Keep up the great vids.
The Bee knows when something or someone sweet is near.
I lived near Twain Harte Ca for several years. Yellow jacket traps work.Tuna fish is good bate.
