      Given their style, I don't think it would make sense for us to react without a little bit of context first. It's not that long to research, but I do agree that reaction video in general are more on the lazy side. We fall into that trap sometimes too.

    It was a problem at that time to convict Armin Meiwes because there was no punishment for such a case. But he was locked away for life. Meiwes sued Rammstein at the time because he thought he had the rights to the story. But there was never a verdict. He is said to be a vegetarian now. The house where the crime took place burned down last year.

    • @MaxSujyGermany
      @MaxSujyGermany  11 месяцев назад +3

      He originally got around 10 years I read, but it was later changed to life. I honestly think that the original verdict was more accurate. The fact that he did it with consent lead me to believe that he's gonna be much less of a threat compare to other type of murderers.

    • @tuteltigor
      @tuteltigor 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@MaxSujyGermanywhile it is still terrible what he did you are certainly right about the part where he did it with consent, this makes me believe that he did have the intention but he wouldn't be a great Threat anymore especially after facing consequensions

    • @HenryLoenwind
      @HenryLoenwind 11 месяцев назад

      @@MaxSujyGermany On the other hand, he should have realised that the consent couldn't have been real but had to have been the result of a psychological illness. Distinguishing between the expressed will and the real will of a person who's impaired in their thinking plays an important part in German law. Usually, a layman can trust that the expressed will also is the real will, but in this case, it should have been obvious that there had to have been a mismatch.
      Getting a life sentence (instead of being sent into psychological lockup) would suggest that the court believed that he did see the difference and took advantage of it intentionally. And preying on the mentally challenged is something that easily can get you the maximum sentence in Germany. It also satisfies the criteria for a 1st-degree murder charge (insidiousness/malice).
      I didn't look it up, but the first sentence must have been a manslaughter one. For that one, no special intent is needed aside from the awareness of the (possible) result of your action. (Murder carries a life-long sentence; manslaughter is 5+ years.)

    • @dragonforce2724
      @dragonforce2724 9 месяцев назад

      @@MaxSujyGermany the reason for it was becaus the law stated for euthanasie (voluntary murder) was not punnishable so he was only scentenced for his particapation of a surgical removal of the body parts (the 10 years) but after getting tons of publicity they changed the laws in germany and then he went back to court again where he gotten a life scentence with no possible parol (even to this day people are saying the person already gotten a scentence under the law and that he only should be in there for the 10 years and that this shows goverment corruption)

    YES, you listened to me about the rabbithole, thanks! And you start your videos with research, subtitles and appreciation for their art. This is going to be great, I follow you and I am excited to be part of your journey. I am seeing them again this year on their 30 year anniversary tour and I am looking forward to it so much!
    Also, the main reason for this song was that german media at that time did talk about that cannibal case for months and everything else much more important (e.g. war in iraq etc.) was in the background or even ignored. This is something the band disliked, so that's the story behind it.
    Edit: if you want something similar to this, they also made a song about an austrian case where a father held his daughter in the basement for decades and had a lot of kids with her - very disturbing. In real life after she was rescued she actually agreed as the band was asking her for her consent about writing a song about that topic.
    It is called "Wiener Blut" - Vianese Blood. Also available with subtitles on youtube. Highly disturbing but art at its finest - and one of the few songs without pyro in it to not draw the attention away from the topic.
    And yeah, without any doubt you should react to their newer official videos like "Deutschland", a video about germany and its flaws and history, or "Zeit". The newer ones work with auto-subtitles and auto-translation very well.
    All live shows are amazing, lots of pyro, "Sonne Multicam 2019" or "Rammstein - Rammstein" anywhere from 2019 to 2023 is always a spectacle for fireworks and pyro.
    I am excited to your future reactions on here! Keep it your way - research, lyrics, appreciation :)

    Thanks for picking up my suggestion to react on this song.
    One of the best reactions to the song I've seen so far!!!
    - "You are what you eat" -> here Rammstein took a slogan from German health movement, which intends to say "if you eat healthy food you are healthier yourself". Of course in the context of cannibalism this gets a interesting new meaning.
    - Sujis thoughts were exactly how the Cannibal tried to defend himself in court - he said it was the victims wish to die like this. Nevertheless he got a lifetime sentence for murder.
    - The Cannibal sued Rammstein for making this song, because they "stole his story" (without asking or paying) - I don't know how this ended
    - David Lynch: early Rammstein wanted him to direct one of their videos. So they kept sending him CDs. That didn't work out, but David played Rammstein at the film set and played one song in one of his films. So the gained popularity in the US.

    • @MaxSujyGermany
      @MaxSujyGermany  11 месяцев назад +2

      The original verdict was around 10 years, which I think is fair. It was later changed to life. The victim was consenting and there is no power dynamic here. If the victim had back down at any point I think he would not have die. He's not that much of a threat imo since he seems to have morals.

    David Lynch likes Rammstein. The band was supposed to make a video at beginning their Carrier and they sent the tape to Lynch, he was the only director they knew and respected. He had the music played while filming so that the actors were in the right mood and used the two songs "Rammstein" and "Heirate mich" in the film Lost Highway. In the film Twin Peak he whistled the melody of "Engel":

    Midnight Meat Train is one of my favorite movies! It's based off of a Clive Barker story, the same man who wrote "Candyman" and "Hellraiser." I have a taste for the macabre so I love that Rammstein made a song based on this case. If you want to go down a different rabbithole, look into Peter Kurten, also known as the Dusseldorf Vampire.

    11:00 - Rammstein negotiating with concert venues: "No fire, no show" :-D The insane pyrotechnics in Rammstein shows have a very simple reason: TIll (at least in the beginning) had debilitating stage fright, and that was a method of shifting the focus away from him, so he could cope. And since a pyro screwed up in early shows, he himself got a pyrotechnics license and designs the pyro's of the shows. I recently read that many of not all of the other members now hold a pyrotechnics license, but that's unverified.
    If you look closely, in many shows the band members seem to be covered in "blood", which in reality is fire retardent.
    I first saw them live at "Rock am See" in Konstanz in 1997, was blown away...
    The visuals I most vividly remember from that festival are from the song "Ramstein - Ein Mensch brennt". During which Till stood on stage clad in some
    chainmail like armor thingy with a posture much like that of the Jesus monument in Rio de Janeiro, and a stage hand had at him with a Flamethrower from
    behind... and he was burning and smoldering the whole time *extra crispy* 😀
    That song is also based on a true story about an accident in 1988 at an air show on an US airbase (Ramstein AFB) in Germany. A childhood friend
    actually was there on the day of the accident, and the only reason he's still around was the bus that was between his visitor group and the fireball from the crash...

  • @Sam-pv7bd
    @Sam-pv7bd 11 месяцев назад +3

    The explanation of the story is wrong. Whoever wrote it made mistakes. Bernd’s dick was cut off before he got into the bathtub. He got into the bathtub because he was feeling cold after losing so much blood. So Armin ran him a bath and would periodically check on him while reading star trek in his room. Eventually Bernd lost consciousness and never regained it. So after trying to figure out what to do. Armin killed him with the knife. It turned out that he was still breathing when Armin killed him, so that was why his 8 year sentence was changed to life imprisonment.
    Today Armin leaves prison everyday for day trips with 2 guards. He wears a disguise consisting of sunglasses and a baseball cap.
    I believe Armin should be released. I don’t think Armin intended to murder Brandes. Bernd asked Armin to kill him. It was consensual.

    Even if this is completely insane, there was still agreement between the two people. Rammstein always takes up real stories. I recommend the title "Wiener Blut".
