Great shark, good catch. I have caught two 7 gills , 7-8 ft fish on SO CAL piers at nights, fellow pier rats have caught 10 ft'er too. We have released them all, after taking photo while the shark is still in water, cut line and let it go. We use high strength carbon steel hook so it will corrode away in two weeks. 7 gill is not good eating, leopard, soup fin, silver, shovel nose, mako, thresher, less than 100 lb and young are better eating fish.

i agree, its unfortunate when people keep the giant, older fish like the one in the video

If your fishing from shore u need a 30 wide at least if your gonna catch anything big and u can use bat ray for bait all sharks eat it.

Awesome catch. That’s a monster. Were you fishing deep channels? What bait and size hook?

do they consider the SF bay as inland waters

This guy is afraid of this fish, its obviously hooked good, that tuna stick should have that thing up fairly quick, especially with a 2-speed! Im sure he wants to land a monster, but I think I would be putting a lot more whoop on it! Maybe I will change my mind once I nail a 200+, we will see, this just looks quite protracted for video.
