Looking great! What is your prediction for the next Nintendo console? I'm hoping they don't move away from physical media and that they don't implement a trophy system.
Backwards compatibility is a must for me and just having the power to port newer games plus something a little more comfortable to hold right out of the box... buying a grip is fine but they could incorporate more grip so I wouldn't have to.
Just got the same shells for myself after watching your video and realizing how good it looks. Tiresome work, but worth it. I'm curious about the grips you have on your analog sticks, though. Can't find a similar one anywhere. Do you happen to have a link of where you got them? Thanks.
Those last grips came in a switch kit from Temu. They are good but needed a little locktite for regular play to keep the pins from wearing down that hold them together. Overall I'm still using them daily and it makes a great diy pro controller
@@show-me-retro I agree! The black finish and those grips give the console an excellent "pro" feel to them, while keeping the "brand" of the Switch. Much better than some of the joy-pads people promote online. I'll look into the kit. Thanks for the reply. Cheers.
@@silence5728 I actually bought another cheaper set of black grips that weren't Extremerate and they were very poor quality. Stick with Extremerate, an extra $10 goes a long way
I can't find any. It truly does suck there isn't a smooth satin black shell replacement out there. Why Nintendo hasn't made an all black joycon boggles the mind
@sarrcc yeah, I saw those as well but not wanting metal and price is unrealistic. I bought a cheap pair off ebay thinking it was what I was looking for but unfortunately it was soft touch as well and worse quality than the extreme rate shells
Looks great. They should just make black joycons like these officially.
Ikr
My switch OLED is all white, but I must admit the black looks pretty bad a$$!!
So weird Nintendo hasn't done this yet? What's their beef against black?
I have the white also with a white grip but they kept getting dirty so I rarely use them.
Very cool! I have seriously thought about doing this or trying to get transparent blue or purples ones as well. Cool video!
Thanks, you should try it!
Very cool looking. A little too much work for me. Why don’t they just make black ones. Lol.
Thanks, you tell me! Looks way better than crazy colors
Imo the neon oled switch should have had black joycons instead. The oled switch appeals more toward the older fans anyway

Nice, look friggin great!
Thanks brother !
i did the same shell swap and the soft touch is horrible, any oem type material black shells?

@@show-me-retro it seriously can’t be that difficult to make them. i saw black metal shells but they are about $120

Wow!
Love it hoping to do mine soon. I feel the same way about the stem deck just not a PC gamer
Why Nintendo hasn't made black joycons is mind boggling
@@show-me-retroya at this point this is my best option it’s been 5 years now haha and the grips sold out bummer
@DavidOlivarez08 the swap is tedious but not that difficult if you've taken a joycon apart before
@@DavidOlivarez08 if you happen to strip a screw I have videos detailing how to remove them
@@show-me-retro i haven’t done a switch but ps3 controllers I have. I know this a much smaller but should be ok. Thanks! Great content! Subbed 👍🏽
